Um, I think someone has a skewed idea of what Gay means.
"Parade Gay" isn't a 24/7/365 lifestyle. I mean, you don't sit on you armchair 24/7/365 watching football and swilling beer, do you? (and just in case you do, I hope you have very good health insurance, 'cause that's a very unhealthy lifestyle. I hop the irony of this isn't lost on you. You know, unhealthy lifestyles and everything that is associated in in the pop media. Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Well, brace yourself for a shocking revelation regarding the gay lifestyle: Some of those people ya see at the "Gay Parade" have ordinary jobs where they dress just like anybody else. Some of theme even wear a suit and tie. Yes, shocking, I know. It's kind of like how you might only paint your face the color of your favorite football team once a tear (you'd do it all season, but you can't afford season tickets.) The Gay lifestyle is a varied complex group of subcultures, culture, not an racial stereotype you can file away neatly between "Hobbit" and "Hungarian"
I'm not Gay, so I can't tell you what it's like to be a member of this colorfully bunch of people, but from what I've seen it involves very many trips to Starbucks and a lot of interior design knowledge. Which is why I'm sticking with the completely sexually neutral field of Computer Technician (which as we all know is completely equally populated by people of all sex and gender preference.) ;)*

Umm, no. I know what gay means. It means that you happen to be attracted to/love a person of the same sex.

Note I said "the stereotypical 'parade' gay".. By that I meant, so long as our president didn't meet that stereotype, I wouldn't have a problem with an openly gay president. I never said that some of the parade participants weren't "just like everyone else, with a 9-5, shirt with a collar and a tie, M-F".

Ya think?! Just because you think I'm some sort of close minded hick doesn't make it so.

What's with the whole "football and swilling beer" and "I hope you see the irony" thing. I never said anything about being gay being unhealthy. Personally, I have no idea or opinion as to whether or not that's true, nor do I really care, as it's not the least bit important to me (or this topic).

I'm-a try this one more time... Image

Um, I meant the cultural meaning. As was obvious from the following paragraphs. Way to read.

Ah, my bad. Never heard the term Parade Gay before, just assumed you mean like in a Pride Parade.

Irony: n. Form of comedic verbage that is aparantly totaly lost on StrongRad. See also: Pop Culture References.
Hey, buddy: Stop taking yourself so seriously. I didn't say you were a close minded twit. You did. Just now. That part there where you said "... I'm some sort of close minded hick.."? Those are your words, not mine. you might wanna re-examine your whole self-image and how secure you are in it, y'know? Nobody's assaulting the intelectualy influenced aspects of your public reputation, so get a grip. I don't care enough about what I think of you to say that sort of thing.

Again, way to read. Sedentary lifestyles are unhealthy in more ways than I care to mention. More people die of heart disease than from AIDS, yiou know. ON the flip side of ye olde ironic gag we have me refering to how of the conservative media's pet media myths is that Gay lifestyle is somehow especially "unhealthy". (which is just subjective enough of a word that they can imply "The Gays are responsible for the spread of AIDS" without actually coming out and saying it. Now, in case you were wondering, Gay people get no more cases of aids, statisticly, than does any other signifigant cross-section of the world populace. In fact, in some parts of Africa where AIDS is endemic is is a cultural taboo to even mention the subject of homosexuality (which is, ironicly, contributing to the spread of AIDS becasue AIDS is linked to homosexuality, and so AIDS has also been Taboo by association. That meant that people were ignorant of what AIDS was, how to prevent it, how one can avoid getting it, etc. Isn't cultural censorship deadly?
I was just pointing out that the typical conservative stereotype is at more imminent risk from health-related concerns that the typical Gay stereotype, but then you had to go and have me explain the joke to everyone, and now it's no fun anymore. :( Next time, read between the lines untill you find a hint of Canadain Humor (now available in cans) and then think 'What would Wiliam Shatner do?"*

Toastpaint is a phrase which we at the HRWiki Forum have adopted to mean, "You're getting off topic. Please focus your attention to the main subject of the discussion." I'd suggest you do that.

Second, you might want to review Rule Number 1 on this one. Now, not just one, but two Mods have now suggested you get back to the main point of discussion.

Sheesh, I knew it had somthing to do with being off topic...

Um, anyways... I say Woman Of Any Denomination would win. Mostly 'case that'd be a really cool name.

I'd say it's basically between a black man and a white woman. I'd say Hilary is gearing up for a run right now, so if I had to pick one, I'd say white woman for the simple reason it could happen in '08.

Well, Alan Keyes also has run at least once, and he probably will in '08, so a black man could easily become president too. I couldn't decide which one would come first in this poll between white woman and black man.

The easiset way to do that is to see what they stand for and pick the one that stands for the most things that you want in a politician.

I don't know much about past presidents, so I'll take your word on this one, but the Gettysburg Address makes me wonder about his athiestic credentials (of course, maybe that was just the way people talked back then, like I said, I don't know).
