I agree that the toon is far from "edgy" and "risqué" (though TBC removed the term "segmented butt" from animal for being "too risqué" so their definitions are broader than mine - though they might bave been sarcastic... I don't have DVD4 yet and I can't tell tone of voice from the transcript)

Though for "Children aren't incapable of thought" - I agree that almost every child who sees this will either (1) not get the reference or (2) understand that it is a Bad Thing™ but ratings and such aren't there to protect the average person, they're there to protect the special few wo are easily influenced.
One of my many favorite sayings is "A person is often smart, but "people" are always stupid" - it's always the least common denominator who stands out from the crowd. Usually because they're the one wearing their underpants on their head and dancing an Irish jig.

Still, even taking all that into account, I can't see "I should go get teen pregnant", immediately followed by an alarm, shocked expressions and a scolding from Gunhaver as an "edgy" comment that will get kids, of any intelligence, wanting to get teen pregnant.

And what in the heck is so bad about mentioning teen pregnancy?
What in the world can it cause??

Teen: "ZOMG! He sez 'teen pregnant'! I thnk Ill tri geting dat 2! lol!" ?
Fat chance!!

Yes, but what about the younger children that watch it and don't know what teen pregnancy is, and they are too young to be explained by their parents what it is? Although, not a lot of younger people watch H*R, but TBC do know that some younger childrens visit it. I guess they just weren't thinking of the little people :O

I don't think that any kids young nough to not understand it even know what homestar is. I mean, I knew all about that stuff by the age of 8. But you know, I'm screwed up.

Most kids are well aware of what teen pregnancy is... they are aware of what smoking is... and they are smarter than you think. They know it's bad because society frowns on it so. A lot of kids probably have seen similar videos that are being parodied in this Cheat Commando's short, so they may or may not get the references.

TBC has always had a way with making incredible ridiculous sentences that really make very little, if any, sense at all. The phrase "Get teen pregnant," takes out the letter a making it make no real sense. However, we know that it is a reference to the TYPES of things present, that you find in those educational films.

If the person watching this toon is very young, I imagine he/she will neither REMEMBER nor UNDERSTAND the references so it cannot affect them in any real way. The smallest kids watch these shows for the sheer fact that they are cartoon characters with funny voices doing silly things. I surely remember nothing that impacted me in any real way from any cartoon I watched before I was 5. If a child this young is watching toons on H*R, it's the responsibility of the child's parent to understand the type of content on that website. I'm sure some parents are oblivious to what the site is exactly, and think it's a cartoon... therefore meant just for kids.

Turning into a rant here....

Anyway, my point is, the smallest children will most likely not even remember it. The older ones who get it are probably smart enough to understand what it means and that it is bad. But the ones it is meant for are teenagers on up... because it is a direct parody of GI JOE... and this is the audience that most everything on H*R is directed at. Because of constant references to the 80's. Through their hillarious 80's-style games to.. well... this.

I think that a lot of you are just waiting on the first sign of too much edgyness so you can make a big deal out of it. TBC keep everything clean, you know that. All they said was get teen pregnant... there was no scene involving the act being carried out... see.. THAT would be edgy.

I think you guys need to tone down on H*R being too edgy. TBC know better than that and will keep the site very much PG rated. I don't think this would merit much attention from the media, so why does it bother you so much if you love all that TBC do? Are you trying to find the bad? Are you LOOKING for the chance to call it... tooo edgy!

Did you forget TBC have always been this edgy? I mean, we know the cheat has a smoking habit. Did you guys forget that? That's from waaaaay back. I'd say that if anything, THAT is more edgy than this.

In all honesty, making way too big of a deal out of this.

If what you want is for them to not have any edgyness... then the site will lost a lot of it's funnyness and heart. If Strong Bad can't constantly talk about the ladies, he loses a part of his character.

So. I wouldn't worry about H*R being too edgy until you see some REAL edgyness.

I never said that this toon is edgy, I'm just saying it's edgier than the other toons on the site.

And the violent death I'm talking about was Fightgar getting shot. Sure, it's not that violent, but in comparison to the other times people die on the site (heart attacks, laughing too hard, frying circuits with tears), it is.

Hey, as a test, I showed this toon to my six year old brothers. All they did was laugh at Reynold dressing in the fake beard, him getting shoved off-screen, and other visual things. They didn't seem to even listen to what was being said. Needless to say, it's been a few days since they saw it, and they haven't gotten any teens pregnant or anything like that.

How do you know he was killed? The Blue Laser Commander was shot out, but he wasn't killed.

Edgy? Who are you people kidding? Ai, you people who say this toon is too edgy seriously don't even deserve to be on the magnificent site that has made me laugh more than any other television show or site!

Any dang way, best cheat commandos toon ever!!!!! It was the living image of all the educational videos my teacher made me watch in health class. I seriously think my teacher took TBC's suggestion and take a nap and drink coffee while we watched a video on "gender stereo types."

So people who say this is "edgy" have obviously been living under a rock for a million years. Do you "oh no, this is risque" people even watch television??? The stuff on there is much much worse than anything on H*R (even having babies with ali and ali's sister  ) Why, even on cartoon network I recall a certain "Grim Tales" episode where there were some sexual references when Billy was about to ask his friends' dad how he had babies with a mummy.

Besides, even cartoon movies contain stuff more risky than H*R. Have any of you ever watched "El Dorado?" It clearly shows the main male character and main female character with messy clothes and hair after "doing something" which wasn't animated.

So appreciate TBC's comedic gold for what it really is: awesome comedy that should be venerated for the immense entertainment it provides!

Let's also not forget the reference that Fred and Daphne were in the basement doing...something in that one episode of Johnny Bravo.

And the infamous jiggle scene in "Date With Destiny" from Teen Titans.

And as far as risker stuff having been said on the site in the past, may I quote 3 Times Halloween Funjob?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Wow, Pom Pom. Did you know that lady? Why did she give you a hundred bucks? Alls I got was a dang old Bit o' Honey.

Hello. I couldn't find a "welcome" forum, so I figured I'd just say hello with
my first post. Hello.

Anyway, this toon is great. I've seen some of these movies it parodies, and
it hits it right on the dot. The third pro-positive life tool really cracked me up.

I loved this one - Definately my favorite Cheat Commandos - and it's my favorite "series."

Favorite parts:
- "Wanna smoke some candy" scene
- Reference to actual educational videos
- The fact that one of them (what's his name...) can't do rhymes anymore
- Gold Era Diseases (me and my friend still tell everyone at school that we can't give them our answers because we have "the Typhoid."
- The rest of it

This made me forget about SBemail for a while.

Same here, one time a kid asked me what he got for an answer on a homework sheet he forgot to do and I said, "I can't, I have the cholera!" and he looked at me weirdly

This toon was great! My favorite Commandos toon! I loved the "We need you to pour these wine bottles down you're pants, er, headband." (And the "Should we shoot him?") part.

And I loved the entire 3rd step.
Because of:
1. Bear.
2. Smoking candy.
3. Random smoke bomb attack.
4. Firebert shooting at people.
5. The anti-oxigen-water-thing-whatever-missiles.
6. Reinforcement's voice. (Doesn't sound like him at all XD.)
7. Your mom waiting for you in the car.

I give this one a 9.1/10!

it's wine coolers ! they're full. not empty. (man, i sound really whininy, right?) i guess i'm not very nice. :((

What about Fairly OddParents? That show is sooo risque, it almost makes me wonder why they don't censor it.

Here are some examples from that show:

Nudity
References to nasty things
Using the word "Sexy" in a kid's cartoon
And a whole bunch of other stuff

And how is that comment from "3 Times Halloween Funjob" risque? Could you tell me?

Well, I'd have to give this a 9.5/10. I thought it was pretty funny...but for me, nothing beats Biz Caz Fri 3. :)

But..teen pregnacy is a little edgy, but still...H*R is very clean.

And, if I recall correctly, it's quide delicious. :p

But yeah, this episode is far less risque than many kids shows (ESPECIALLY Fairly OddParents). And, as everyone else has said, there have been risque-er things on the site before.

Ya I thought it was weird for TBC to be talking about semi edgy material, but it wasn't bad...
