Okay, seriously, TBC are beginning to get more and more edgy. I ask you, would you show this cartoon to your mom? Or your 4-year old sister? Anyway, some parts were kind of funny.

Even better than Trogdorcon. it perfectly parodies the stupid educational films we all had to watch in school (I remember seeing one with Mr. T... O_o) and has some good old-fashioned random humour thrown in. And everyone loves reynold. I haven't laughed this hard at H*R for quite a while. A+.

True. If you want perfectly clean stuff, the internets not the place to go. Try some cartoon channels.

It's a bit edgy, but not that I care. It's not edgy compared to some of their early work, and pretty much everything else there on the internet.

Anyway, the toon itself was great. I really enjoyed pretty much the whole thing. "Broke! Broke! Broke! Broke! Broke! Broke!"

Also, as of Cool Things, I think TBC decided to make all their shorts decently long instead of, like, 2 minutes or so. Nowadays I think toons are for slices of everyday life in Free Country, USA, while Shorts are for more focused cartoons.

Anyways, this was hilarious, sure it got a bit edgy, but I don't really care. The fact that they were watching Pony fight 2 was bizzarely hilarious in its own right. The shooting, missiles, random advice, and perfect parody of all those videos that they show was hilarious.

10/10 especially with all the other updates.

I thought the toon was pretty good. Liked the "Stare at the clock until I return" thing, or whatever it was.

I don't think H*R.com's getting edgier, less clean, or whatever. Seems to me alot of the earlier stuff was more dirty. Yeppers.

I'm just saying, the last couple of updates have been constistently edgy. Strong Sad's Lament, lady...ing, TrogdorCon, and this one.

Yeah, I'm going to get really mad if they go too far.

But besides the edgy parts, it was great!

That was sooo awesome. Kinda reminded me of those awful Great body shop packets our health teacher passes out. They're really dumb and encourage paranoid behaviour.

Anyways, probably the best Cheat commandos toon. 5 out of 5 Coach Zs.

It was a little edgy but I don't care. My favorite part was the smoking candy scene. It was very good except for some boring parts.

I laughed out loud for:

"But how do I keep from making peer-to-teen choice awards?"
"Wanna smoke some candy?"
All the stuff they did to the candy smoker.
"we need you to put these wine coolers down your pants...err headband."

Slightly edgy, but good. Reminds me of "The Movie". You know, when you only go because you get to talk in the back row or whatever. Intristing back to school short. Um, 7/10

I loved that toon. I thought it was hghghggghhghhhilarious. I loved the candy smoking part. That was probably one of the funiest thing on the site since lady...ing. Great thing. 9.5/10

I fail to see the edginess you speak of.

However, this may be because I am jaded, having lived for thousands and thousands of years longer than you can ever hope to. If you are referring to Reynold's line, then I think you misunderstand what he said. He didn't say "Get a teen pregnant," he said "Get teen pregnant," which is funny because

A: Reynold is a guy
B: Reynold is clearly meant to be older than a teen.

So buh.

Good point, but some people misunderstand things. And a lot of them (but not all of them) are parents that hate cartoons to began with. And some people don't like smoking refrences, even if it's chocolate.

Maybe it was a bit edgy, but not overboard at all. And as JohnTheCowboy mentioned, it was supposed to be funny. If this is as edgy as it gets, or even if it gets edgier, it will be one of the cleanest cartoons on the internet.
Oh, and not a bad toon either.

Well maybe those people should've stopped watching the site when they told us that The Cheat smokes, like, four freakin' years ago. Anyway, I don't have a problem with the supposed "edginess" of the cartoon. Homestar Runner was never conceived as entertainment for five year olds, it was college-type humour all along, they just didn't want it to be like South Park. People have just decided "oh, this is for kids! How delightful" because they don't throw obscenities left, right and centre, and now they're moaning that the toon isn't the thing it never was to begin with

TBC are not getting edgy. The whole smoking thing was paying out those "Teen hormone issues" videos, that are to scared of getting letters from unhappy parents, so they turn beer into "cordial" or drugs into "candy" or homosexuality into, "plays with Teddy bears instead of Dollies". They were also spoofing the old G.I Joe episodes where the morale was, "Remember kids, if you see a fire, stay away and report it to a responsible adult." You can compile a list of all the innapropriate things on H*R.com, but at the end of the day, they're not as bad as the lemonparty (Too lazy for link. Look it up if you want, but contains nudity and adult themes).

Anyway. Loved the entire thing. Especialy Reynold's line, "I may as well go and get teen pregnant" and "Hey kid, wann come smoke some candy?"

Yeah, wow, they really ARE getting risque. What'll they do next, talk about first, second, and quite possibly even third base? Vague hints at incestual threesomes? Drinking cold ones and flipping the bird? Oh, I'm becoming all aflutter.

The truth is, they're not geting edgier. They never will get edgier. They have a silly humor that will poke fun at a few adult themes, but you have to remember their audience. I don't know anyone under ten that watches Homestar regularly, but I know, like, half my high school and a good chunk of my fellow college students do.

Everyone I've talked to about this (in real life, that is) is happier that they're making slightly edgier toons that we can identify with at least a little bit better. Yes, I realize I already said they weren't getting edgier, but you see my point. If they go from poop jokes to the line "I'm going to get teen pregnant," coming from a guy, no less, I don't think anyone's going to be shocked. Except the people who just like to be amazed that they said words like "pregnant" or "bikini." These are not risque terms for the target audience. Risque would be if Reynolds dropped an F-bomb when he said he could swear a cuss. For reference, he said "diaper-biscuits." This is not jaw-dropping material, people, and neither are the other toons that keep getting mentioned.

What's the big deal with TrogdorCon again? Was it just that SB mentioned a leather bikini? Without showing it, mind you? God forbid someone who doesn't know what a bikini is and doesn't know why a leather one is inappropriate on a woman that fits the name Rotunda hears those fragile words. I'm honestly surprised no one has complained about SB's use of the word "Doosh." You can spell it however you want; that's the worst thing on the whole site.

Did somebody actually mention "lady...ing" as being risque? What was the motivation for THAT outrage? "Sand off your nipples" is the closest thing I can find, and that's just silly. Or SS saying the phrase "wet nap" in his blog. Now, pardon me if I'm wrong, but isn't a wet nap like a baby wipe? Is anyone actually offended by a possible double meaning? Especially when it seems like a complete throw-away joke? People who shouldn't get another meaning wouldn't, and those of us that did should probably disregard it as another silly pun that means nothing. That's all it amounts to anyway. Strong Bad makes continuous references to "the ladies." What is he planning on doing with said ladies? OMG, RISQUE!!!

Nothing on this site amounts to anything worse than "holy crap," and the people who are offended by that don't deserve to be here in the first place. I, for one, raise my glass to TBC for making quality cartoons that have humor on multiple levels. They'll never make something really dirty because they just aren't those kind of guys, but they know dirty stuff exists, and it shows through in surprisingly innocent ways. It's nice to know that they are, indeed, human.

It was OK. I REALLY hope TBC do a Strong Bad Email next week, its been a probably a month since they got updated.

But any edgyness you find on H*R is a far cry from anything you can find on TV anywhere now-a-days. lol.

Props to El Zilcho. You said it, man. They are referencing naughty (but not fully vulgar) things in ways that are actually funny, as opposed to simply going for shock value, which is mostly what passes for humor nowadays. And I like Joshua's full toons vs. shorts theory. I liked this toon a lot, especially, "All that cuss language might give you nightmares!" and the deadpan, "I thought we were bros, man."

Ok, I haven't actually watched it yet (stupid lappy), but I read the transcript, and they're getting pretty close to pushing some boundaries.
I mean, getting teens pregnant was the last thing I envisioned Reynold to be like (although I could so see him saying Diaper Biscuits!)

Smoking, shoplifting.... although these things didn't actually happen, still clueing in.
And the parts about teachers smoking and fixing themselves another drink... sure, they portrayed it on the Simpsons, but the Simpsons is known for that sort of thing.
H*R isn't.

I guess I may have a different opinion when I have actually seen the toon, with all this innuendo in context.


BTW - I hope those are some good pizza costumes... maybe time for a new avvy!
