Ooo! Now I'm thinking it's from the Little Women movie. Can anybody clarify?

I really liked it. I loved how the characters could show their colors, and their various interactions. My favorite line was the conglomerate name. Now that Strong Bad is no longer the site's star, I feel like he's getting back into character. Burning Homestar's face with hot grease? I think his evil touch is back. I'm really liking this post-sbemail era. 4/5.

I'm pretty sure it's another part of the Inspector Gadget theme.

The tune is not recent. Looking for something in your lifetime as the origin is fruitless. This is like trying to figure out where "shave and a haircut" comes from.

Well, I always knew it as the end of the "brown bread" song, but I've realised since that a lot of songs end with it.

I know it from an old video game. It's an old console game, a platformer, I think, although I don't remember which one. Does anybody know?

I don't know if it goes farther back than that.

It was the boss music in Wizards & Warriors for the NES, but yes it does go back farther than that.

Isn't it one of those generic, way overused in the last 100 years, scooby-doo esque old timey horror tunes, like that Fugue by J.S. Bach that's always used?

I liked the short. Bubs' fury combined with Homestar's optimism for a future of working close at hand is an excellent combination. And that dream homestar had: "I was the French longjump captain with 8 wooden legs" Randomness included well.

But homestar's shop's name, Do-nots...was that a reference to Senor cardgage in Senorial day (or maybe senor mortgage) when he said "Doe not miss out" Maybe it's a long shot.

Honestly, I don't know why, but it didn't do a whole lot for me. Bubs was good though.

I think that was definitely a reference to Weclome Back.

All this Strong Bad hate annoys me. Just cause youve seen a lot of him over the years means that the brothers chaps need to remove him completely from their work? That doesnt make sense.

I liked this one. I'm not gonna sit here and analyze why or quantify my enjoyment with some ratio though. I just liked it. Is there a Homestar Runner fanbase somewhere that doesnt suck the fun out of everything?

You could try http://www.homestarrunner.com. It's got all the original fun intact, and there's no one there to suck it out.

I loved it. Homestar is cute as ever, and Bubs' face turning purple and then back to blue was pretty clever.

...That almost rhymed! XD

This cartoon was okay, but while I watched it, I noticed something. I have to watch Homestar cartoons 3 times just to understand what Homestar is saying. I don't use the wiki because I get self-dependant when it comes to that stuff.

I give it a 4/5. Strong Bad's appearance and what he did was expected. I didn't say I hated it, but I miss the clever Strong Bad. As if Homestar is bad enough...

So, Bubs with the red face.......yeah, so, I thought my computer was going color blind again until I saw the puffs of smoke. My stupid iMac always messes with the color because it's as old as dirt.

Marzipan's first line was pretty hilarious, although it was disappointing that she only had one appearance. It was just a major shock to me.

And I agree that there should have been more people in it, and the King of Town's entrance kind of sucked. What is he, freaking Merlin?!?!?!

My single favourite moment was definitely Homestar dreaming of being a French long-jump champion while wearing a Mexican flag. Oh, Homestar.

Red Bubs was pretty great, too.

Whole toon was pretty dang good. Those were just my favourite parts.

For you purists out there:

  • Did you see as Bubs' head turned from angry red back to normal, as this is a Flash cartoon, you could briefly see the "seams" of the coloured polygons that make up Bubs' head.... the fills turned from red back to blue, but the border outlines didn't... at least until the colour transition completed??
  • Did you see the clock ticking down to 3:09, but the seconds hand was moving as if the clock was in fact an electric one??

Nothing serious, just thought I'd point these things out.

:marzi: was excellent at the beginning. The anniversery comment was hilarious!
The "secret recipe" wasn't nearly as funny as the "French Long Jumper" comment.
I almost fell out of my seat when I saw Red-faced Bubs! "I am delighted that you decided to set up shop 10 feet away from me!" "The street?"
I wasn't expecting the KOT to come out of nowhere either, but it wasn't that funny.
The "marketing bombardment" was probably the best part, especially the toothpaste part.
When Strong Bad showed up, the toon sort of fell on its back and died. The shoving over of the stand could've been much funnier if he had shoved it over after putting the note on it.
And I know for a fact that I've heard that ending toon from some mystery show/game. I also have the feeling that where that music played, "end" appeared on the screen.

All in all, :bubs: :bubs: :bubs: :bubs: / :bubs: :bubs: :bubs: :bubs: :bubs:

I would've given it a 3/5, but all the little jokes inside made me laugh a bit more.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed Homestarrunner was wearing a mexican shirt. I loved this video. It was awesome.

Homestar's "dream" is totally completey mixed up in a lot of ways. Here's how:
Homestar claimed that in his dream...
he was a long jump champion.
    he was french.
    he had 8 wooden legs.
But in the picture showing his dream...
he was standing next to a high-jump thingy.
he was wearing a Mexican shirt.
    he only had one leg.

Anyway, I really liked this cartoon. Angry Bubs, Strong Bad melting Homestar's face off, and the marketing contest thingy was really funny. I enjoyed this toon & I hope that TBC make more toons like this.

Oh man<3 Very funny. I like these little random cartoons. No prompts from e-mails, no prior setup ... just a random peak into the characters' crazy lives.

Hey, thanks! Why am I not surprised one of the first Google results for that led to TV Tropes.

As for the Bubs head thing, I was a little disappointed they didn't or couldn't fix that. Technically in Flash, if the two objects were the exact same shape, there would have been no "seam" where they overlap (unlike in raster programs where you'd see some "peek" through the semi-transparent pixels around the edge). This is why, for example, Strong Bad's face can cut off precisely where the edge of his head is. Flash sometimes messes with objects' vectors, though, if you try going in and make more changes, because of a too-small-to-see "grid" that everything has to snap to. I wonder what they did to trigger that.

You might notice his large eye doesn't line up properly between the two either.

This is a really great short. It is funny and entertaining, for sure, but I think all of the good points have been mentioned. However, the best part for me would be the part when Homestar had a dream about being a French Long-jumper with 8 wooden legs, even so in his dream he was none of the above. I give it a 4/5. the only thing keeping it from 5/5 was Strong Bad. Don't get me wrong, SB would make a great health inspector to ruin H*R plans, but the way he shut him down... didn't have the comedic punch it should of had. And there were to few characters, and no easter eggs. Would of loved to see Homsar as well, I haven't seen him in any of the new toons or shorts.
