CNN or Fox?

It also answerd the question if youre a democrat or a republican. Please excuse me if I got this wrong, the news program I watch is te daily show.
Im democrat, but my parents ae republica. They call CNN the "Communist National Netwok"

So.. which one do you watch?
Im only counting these 2 because they're the major ones.

CTV Newsnet. Less biased (I think) than any of the US news networks. From what I've seen, anyway. I don't watch Fox news at all, and CNN on occasion.

Neither. If I have to watch a news channel, I'd go watch BBC News 24 (you know, if there are no newspapers around, and the radio and the internet is bust). The Beeb's too haughty to be either left or right.

I watch both, and have no patience for those who declare Fox is crappy when they've never watched a minute of it.

CNN drives me crazy sometimes, but they're a professional organization that does good reporting (if you can sift through the bias). Fox is also biased, but they tend to have liberal commentators on far more than CNN does. Basically, they at least attempt to be "fair and balanced" while it seems CNN couldn't care less.

I usually watch MSNBC, which I think is more moderate then both. However, if I had to choose, I would watch FOX over CNN. FOX at least tries to even out its conservative view point. I usually don't see a report there without a Democratic strategist.

I don't watch the news all that much, but when I do, I watch Fox News. I think the only reason they seem right-wing is because most of the other news networks are so left wing that Fox only appears right wing. Fox seems to focus on domestic issues, like kidnappings, murders, things of that nature, instead of how evil Israel is for "targeting civilians", "occupying Muslim land" or being "taped to Pom-Pom again".

They both may be somewhat biased, but for me, the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back is that Fox has Sean Hannity and Brit Hume and Bill O'Reilly and used to have Tony Snow before he became the Bush administration's press secretary. It's people like this that make Fox the more biased of the two, in my opinion, so I said that I watch CNN more, though I actually prefer MSNBC to both of them.

Or maybe it just means that there are options for political viewpoints other than the black-and-white perception of Republicans vs. Democrats.

Independent just means your views don't match a major party. The issues each of the parties have don't have to go together. Just because one party is for abortion and against the death penalty and the other is the opposite doesn't mean that if you're for one you have to be against the other. If half your opinions agree with the Democrats and half with the Republicans, you can see how it would be hard or impossible to choose a party.

The way I see it (stolen from someone who gets paid to think about this stuff), Democrats are trying too hard to be your loving mommy, and Republicans are trying too hard to be your disciplined daddy. There's a middle ground, but that doesn't mean you don't know where you stand.

Oh yeah, news networks. They stay alive by making mountains out of molehills. People should care about the news, but not so much that cable news networks can survive on their advertizers. Read a newspaper or something twice a week and if something catches your eye, research that story on trusted websites. Much more than that just breeds stress (ZOMG WW3!!!!11!1) and allows news companies to make up situations (Spanish American War) and twist public opinion.

BBC is probably the most credible and non-partisan news source in the world. Since I don't happen to get that with my cable, I go with Fox News myself.

Sorry, I watch neither. CBC, BBC, and (sometimes) CTV is all I watch.
No, serious, it's all I watch. I don't have cable. Because I don't spend enough time watching TV for cable to be worth the money.
And I watch the BBC via streaming video (no, not that RealPlayer crap.. I have other.. resources... available to me.)

Given a choice, though, I won't touch FOX News with a ten-foot pole. Did see it once at the SONY Store, and it was that O'REILLY guy spouting his hate-filled tirades. That guy needs medication. No, seriously: I think he's nuts. Have you guys seen the documentary movie OUTFOXED: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism? In short, O'REILLY lies a lot and Fox News is a propaganda machine run by Rupert Murdoch.

I actually don't watch either. As much as it might discredit me, I get my news from The Daily Show. Honest to God.

There is a Boston Fox News that I watch every so often, but I haven't seen any bias from them.
