Has anyone watched speed racer? On a certain chanel (I forget wich one), the play one episode every secound day of the week.

It may be 30 years old, and the translation is really bad, it's still an anime classic.

And just for fun, here's a speed racer geico commercial that came out a while ago.

I've seen bits and pieces of the show, and have seen the Gieco ad so many times. My father loved that show as a kid.

When I was 4ish (I really do NOT remeber when this was), the video rental place nearby had a whole butt load of speed racer stuff on tape so I only ever watched a couple. Still pretty good though.

Yeah. I used to get up at like, 4:00 AM when I was little to watch that show when I was little. It confused me to death, seeing as I couldn't exactly do that every night. The voice acting didn't help either @_@

The whole Dexter's Lab "Mach 5" thing was probably the first pop culture reference I ever got

No, actually. It was the second Speed Racer series. 52 episode long, if I remember correctly.

There's a third one that was never released or even translated in the U.S.

Actually, it's from 1997. Remake or something.

My anime encyclopedia says there was some American cartoon in 1994 or some.

Can't remember where I read about Speed Racer X and some other series.....

I have all the tapes of them. I can't find DVD's, although I wish I could, because hearing the bad translations is funny at times.

I remember watching that show long ago. I loved Speed Racer. I think that it was so horribly dubbed was made it so great.
