I never found the books too interesting. Same goes with alot of other fantasy books.

Overhyped indeed.

Which is why I'm staying away from the internet for a while until I read the entire book.

spoilers in this post.

As am I. Every single book has been ruined for me from Quirrel being Voldemort's servant to Ginny being possessed to Sirius being the godfather to Cedric dying, to Sirius dying, and to Dumbledore dying(except I actually did that on purpose).

I'm also re-reading all the books. Last night I finished Order of The Phoenix so I'll start Half-Blood Prince any day now.

------

Anyways, some things:

- The U.S cover looks like it's the place where the final showdown takes place. Big, empty space with just Harry and the Dark Lord....
- Is the T in Voldemort really silent? 'Cause if it is, I think every single movie has been getting it wrong(but that's not the only thing they've been getting wrong...)
- The U'K cover looks like Harry might somehow lose all his riches.
- I don't think Hogwarts will be open this time.
- I thought Dumbledore was dead for about two years. Then I actually changed my opinion to him being in a sort of limbo - neither dead nor alive.
- I also think Snape is good. He learned Occlumency so the Dark Lord could not detect he was a spy. And with him back, Snape is telling him he has actually been spying on Dumbledore the whole time. If you remember Dumbledore's last moments from his supposed death, he was begging Snape for something. This could have been to kill him. Dumbledore is the only one the Dark Lord ever feared, right? Maybe Dumbeldore made the ultimate sacrifice to give the Dark Lord a false sense of security....

ach my head hurts from all this remembering stuff I read two years ago

I used to listen to the audio books if I was too busy to read the books. Jim Dale, the guy who reads the book, pronounces it with a silent T.

I dont know why they changed some of the things.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is coming out on July 21 at midnight.
A huge event that deserves it's own thread. Discuss what you think will happen, how good it will be, and the like.

The fifth movie is also coming out July 13.

Can't wait,
Sbemailman

The sixth book leave's us hanging. It's a wonder how JK can continue with - spoiler - dumbldore dead - spoiler over -

But, Snape, this is to you:

I HOPE YOU DIE YOU FILTHY MOTHER *#&@ @#*% %#&#$* ^T*#$(&%$*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways.

Maybe it'll be a good book. Man, I wish I could be there to see the GIANT mass of people camped there. It will be fun to throw popcorn at them. And rocks.

Anyways. Excuse my snape cuss thing.
Does Harry eventually find the horcruxes and finish Voldemort once and for all? Who knows.

Fifth movie=super yes. I want to skip that and see the sixth movie.

Snape kills Dumbledore.

Yeah okay, I'm not saying that Dumbledore was a bad guy and was on Voldemort's side, but at the top of page 696 in the 4th book it says:

"'He could touch me without without hurting himself, he touched my face.' For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes."
^WTF?

To me, that just doesn't seem like something she would put in there for no reason.

That bugged the living CRAP outta me for a good year. I had myself convinced it was because he knew Voldemort had to be resurrected before he was truly killed but I'm not sure.

And let's not forget, the Prophecy was worded in such a way that it could apply to either Harry or Neville Longbottom. It's just that circumstances have pushed Harry to the forefront of the battle; Neville may yet have an important role to play.

I think Harry is a Horcrux and will have to die to stop Voldemort.

Nice idea there. That just made me think that Dumbly-dore is a Horcrux and he told Snape to kill him.

I've heard that before, too. In which case, Harry will have to commit an act of self-sacrifice, following in the footsteps of his father, mother, and mentor.

I want to see more Death Eaters in the 7th book. Such a cool idea. But shouldn't they be called Happy Eaters? Anyways, I hope this book doesn't get clogged up with relationship lovey dovey junk.

Um, I dunno.

...It should have been called Harry Potter and the Underwear Bandit. D=<

Also, it will probably end with the world exploding and Harry Potter floating through space forever.

Or else they re-enact the Civil War with Death Eaters as the Confederacy and bulldozers as the USA. :p

Also, this is another unpopular opinion, but I liked the sixth book a lot. Anyone who doesn't like it is probably just too IMMATURE to handle all that kissing, like Ginny said in the book. :p

As far as Snape goes, I have a theory that it was arranged that he would kill Dumbledore so Voldemort would think that he went over to his side, but he would actually be getting information. Dumbledore took Harry on that horcrux thing (it's been a while since I last read the books) so he could prepare Harry to find the rest of them.

That's something that I thought, that maybe Dumbledore wanted to be killed. The "please... please, Severus..." stuff that he said I always figured could be interpreted either way: As the headmaster pleading Snape not to kill him or to actually do it.

A bit of a stretch, I know, but bleh.

I'm with you, Spork. Dumbledore knew he was dying anyway. He knew that if Snape killed him Snape's street cred with the Death Eaters and Voldemort would be unshakable. Dumbledore didn't want Malfoy to become a murderer.

Snape did it only because Dumbledore told him to.

Oh and if Snape didn't kill Dumbledore when Malfoy failed to, Snape would die. Dumbledore couldn't have that.

Also, in the sixth book, Snape used the killing curse, and it sent Dumbledore flying backwards, the only thing is, that's not what the killing curse does. With the killing curse, there is a bright light, and the person just collapses, dead. But for some reason, Dumbledore, got hit, stayed in midair for a moment, then flew backwards, not the normal effect of the curse at all.
Hmmmmmm.

My stance is that Dumbledore was begging not for survival, but for death. Either to use Snape as the perfect spy, or because he is a Horcrux, or whatever.

which leaves Snape up to probably being good if he obeyed Dumbledore's wishes.

(if this is true)

I also heard a theory about why Dumbledore got cremated. The phoenix rises from the ashes after burning, so let's Dumbledore's the phoenix.

This would mean that he's alive, but I don't really think so.

Well, there isn't a thread on the first page, so I figured I might as well start a new one:

On July 21, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released. All our itching questions will be answered, but let's remember that this is the last book - the last time was as fans can swap theories and speculate about what will happen. Let's savor this last month and a half by discussing the most urgent questions...

-Is Snape good or bad?
-Who is R.A.B.?
-Is Harry himself a Horcrux?
-How the heck can house-elves do laundry!?

I don't know why, but I like Book 6 a lot. Probably because of all the history they explain in it and stuff.

Thats why I loved it. I'm not usually into the whole "learning about character's backgrounds" stuff, but learning about Voldemort's past was really cool.
