[edit] Icon Mouseover

I don't know if this is a problem with the upgrade or not, but whenever I mouse over the icon in the top left, it flashes off. --AwkwardFire 13:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I can't seem to duplicate this behavior. Can you give me more informtion? (Browser, operating system, etc.) — It's dot com 16:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm marking this closed unless and until more information is provided. — It's dot com 14:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Resolved issues

[edit] #rand

Apparently, #rand no longer works. No random quotes or anything. The Goblin!! 01:03, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

It works fine now. It just hadn't been enabled yet. — It's dot com 01:24, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes Sampling Template

I see that the userbox sampling template {{userboxsamples}} has changed. Is that the doing of the update? TheCoolBot 12:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah. Looks like the parser functions aren't working in between the tags. I'll get to the bottom of it shortly. — It's dot com 15:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Fixed. — It's dot com 06:30, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Searching Help Link

The link to HRWiki:Searching seems to be missing from the page of search results. OptimisticFool 19:58, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

The default behavior was changed with bug 8846. I've updated our version to the specific help page. — It's dot com 21:33, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Slow access speed?

It seems like it's taking a long time to load pages on HRWiki now...could it be related to the upgrade? Or I guess it could be because I'm trying to access it from the Moon again... stupid 12-baud modem... [Nebulon] 02:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Neither, it's monday and a toon recently came out. — Defender1031*Talk 02:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Drivel

[edit] Annoying already!

Even though the message above just got released, "The Homestar Runner Wiki has upgraded to MediaWiki 1.11. Please report any problems. Thanks." is really annoying! He can't say job. Don't say jorb 101 Seriously, he can't say job!

So, you can see it? Good. Then the software is working correctly. It'll be there for a day or two so that others will know to report any problems. Sorry it annoys you. We tried to make it conspicuous yet unobtrusive. Keep on tranglin'! — It's dot com 01:36, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Any chance I can see the page that was displayed while the wiki was down? People have been saying it was pretty cool, and I missed it. OptimisticFool 01:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
The fanstuff is still down. If that's the downtime message was for this wiki as well, then I agree, it is cool. Shwoo 01:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
What about Wiki User Wiki? Is it being upgraded? -Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 01:50, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't know. Ask Super Sam. Shwoo 01:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Good idea. -Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 01:53, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, Shwoo. Hooray, I got to see it. I thought it would be the grand... marshall. But it's just "okay" .. it isn't better than the wiki itself like people were saying. Ha! OptimisticFool 01:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Main changes?

My username is The Chort. I represent all the casual visitors who come by once or twice a week, watch a latest toon or sbemail, and make a couple of edits and fixes to the articles. However, although we are quite interested in this new upgrade, we do not understand any of the new features or bugfixes to the wiki as we are ignorant of the technical details and jargon of how the wiki works. What we want to know is "What are the major changes to the wiki that are relevant to us casual visitors?" Sincerly, – The Chort 21:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, The Chort. I've been using 1.11 for a while (I'm an active sysop on Wikipedia, too), and I would say that the differences for a casual user will be minimal. Many of the more important differences are in the use of sysop tools, like blocking and protection. The Patrol log means you can now see what revisions you and others have patrolled, for whatever that's worth, but it's otherwise going to be mostly the same for you, I'd say.
