I repeat: I do not deny a similarity. I deny that it's anything more than a coincidence. This convinces me of nothing. --Jay (Gobble) 18:06, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

I didn't really intend for it to be persuasive so much as illustrative. Say—I hope you don't mind if I move the conversation from the STUFF page over to here?

(Jay (Gobble)): And because nobody has yet denied a similarity, what was the point in adding the picture?

Just visual clarification; I thought my verbal description of the rhythm looked kind of confusing. Also it makes it easy to see where they line up and where they don't. Specifically, they are the same rhythm, with two 16th-note "F-"s introduced and two eighth notes slid back. Obviously opinions vary, but I find it a high degree of similarity. (Note, by the way, that I suggest no conclusions about influence or allusion! I can't tell you how many times I've "come up" with a melody only to realize I was subconsciously influenced by some pop song from my childhood and nearly quoted it.) —AbdiViklas 18:25, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
