STRONG BAD: {singing} Watch me do a little bit o' email, {accidentally types "stongbad_email.exe"} and I'll watch you do a little bit o' {screen reads "File Not Found."} uh— that's never happened before. {singing} Watch me do a little bit o' email, {correctly types "strongbad_email.exe"} and I'll watch you do a little bit o' {email loads properly this time} uh— that's never happened befo— oh wait, it's an email. That has happened before. And quite a few times if I remember correctly. All right, so...

{reading}

{he reads "From Sam" as if the whole phrase was the emailer's name}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Let's see here...I can tape this blank floppy disk to my head {he doesn't actually type "blank"} and start talking gibberish and acting like the crazy squeaky guy. LEEKO! LEEKO! LEEKO! I'm a squeaky guy! {jumps up on the table and starts dancing around} I got squeaky pants! Come check out my squeaky pants dance! Squee squaw squee squaw squee squaw {a bottle of ketchup falls from the ceiling into his hand and he starts flinging it over everything, while hitting the keyboard with his foot, producing "WOAH!! I CAN TYPE WITH ONE FOOT!"} pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity pongity! Aunt Ruthie! Aunt Ruthie! There's ketchup on the computer! Halzee-WHOOP!

{He leaps from the table backwards and starts spinning while bouncing around the floor on his head}

STRONG BAD: Pont-REER! Pont-REER! Pont-REER! Pont-REER! Pont-REER! Pont-REER!

{He runs up to Strong Sad and starts yelling rhyming gibberish at him.}

STRONG BAD: Jor Jee Jibbera Jaw! Huppidda Roopja Oop Jup Jaw! Ooka Oog

{Strong Sad begins talking over him.}

STRONG SAD: Quit that!

STRONG BAD: Ooka Reetoo Taw!

STRONG SAD: You're freakin' me out.

STRONG BAD: {pauses shortly, then continues} Eeckoo Ickoo Ickoo Slaw! Hooka Hoo Ha!

STRONG SAD: Did you take some of my pills again?

{Cut to Compy. Bubs and The Cheat are dipping fries in the ketchup poured over the computer.}

BUBS: You know what? You're right, The Cheat! This computer catsup is better than the regular kind! Or that purple kind.

{Strong Bad walks back in}

STRONG BAD: All right, all right. Clear outta here, you two! 'Cept for you, The Cheat. {The Cheat grumbles} You better start cleaning this mess up!

BUBS: What happened in here? Some type of ketchup bomb go off?

STRONG BAD: Nah, not really. I was answering an e-mail and dancing and acting like a squeaky guy and I started throwing ketchup everywhere.

BUBS: Oh. That's pretty cool.

{Strong Bad does a double-take behind him to make sure nobody's around.}

STRONG BAD: {sotto voce to Bubs} Hey, man, are ketchup bombs real?

BUBS: Not yet! {raises french fry and runs off}

STRONG BAD: {to The Cheat} Well? Aren't you gonna go get your 409 or Awesome Sauce or whatever you're gonna clean this up with? {The Cheat squeaks at him and starts heading off} Maybe a moist chamois? {tries a fry with the computer ketchup} Ooh! This computer ketchup is pretty good! Needs more RAM, though. Maybe a couple of megachips.

{The Paper comes down.}

Easter Eggs

  • If you click on Strong Bad's face (not head) while he is spinning upside down (the floppy disk itself does not work), Homestar will come out to say something funny. It may take a few tries to get it; you have to be quite quick. It's easier to get it with the Tab key and Enter.
{Homestar Runner walks in from the left. Strong Bad re-enters from the right, still bouncing on his head and spouting his gibberish.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ohhh... Hi, Strong Bad. I was just stopping by to do something funny, but, um... I can see you don't need my help this week.
{Strong Bad bounces off to the left while Homestar looks on.}
  • At the very end you can click on a blob of ketchup near the left fries to see the ketchup bottle. The labels read:

Fun Facts

Trivia

  • The label on the disk in the floppy disk container reads "odell lake".

Remarks

  • This is the first time that we see how Strong Bad eats.
  • Strong Sad is depressed by nature as part of his character, but here it is actually implied that he may be clinically depressed — thereby explaining the reference to his "pills."
  • The ketchup splatters in the last scene are shifted slightly downward in comparison to the previous computer room scene, and are more appropriately placed.
Magical floppy disk?

Goofs

  • The Quite Fancy 'Chup image is cut off near the top, if you look closely it ends in a straight horizontal line near the topmost green shade of The Paper.
  • Strong Bad's legs actually go through his body for one frame when he's walking at the scene where he tells Bubs and The Cheat to leave. This is best seen if you view the Flash file and stop the movie when Strong Bad walks up. Then watch the movie frame by frame from that point.
  • Viewing the Flash file, if you stretch the window to be longer than taller, or vice versa, the background is black, unlike all the other emails, in which it is white.

Glitches

  • When Strong Bad tapes the floppy disk to his head, the contrast dial does not affect its reflection, nor does it affect the reflection of his hand.
  • When Strong Bad jumps up and down with the ketchup bottle, his foot types "WHOA!! I CAN TYPE WITH ONE FOOT!", yet due to the ketchup you can't see the 'e' in one and the 'fo' in foot. When he comes back to the computer later, you can see the 'e' in one but can't see the 'foo' in foot.

Inside References

  • The sounds Strong Bad makes when he is next to Strong Sad are very similar to the ones from his email song in big white face.
  • Strong Bad typing in "stongbad_email.exe" is a reference to 50 emails, where one emailer called Strong Bad "Stong Bad."
  • Strong Bad typing with his foot is similar to how he types with his head in sisters.

Real-World References

  • Chamois is actually pronounced "Shammy." Strong Bad pronounces it "Sham-oyce," like it is spelled, in an attempt to rhyme with "moist."
  • The purple ketchup Bubs mentions is Heinz's Funky Purple Ketchup.
  • 409 is a reference to Formula 409, a household cleaner/degreaser manufactured by Clorox.

Fast Forward

  • In technology, it's clear that Strong Bad has forgotten that the 3 1/2 inch diskette is a floppy disk, and he refers to it as a "hard" disk.

DVD Version

  • The Homestar Easter egg is automatically enabled; no selecting is necessary to access it.
  • The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.
  • The pause between Strong Bad bouncing off the screen and bouncing back just before Homestar shows up is shorter.

Commentary Transcript

(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

MIKE: So here's the commentary track...

MATT: {laughs} Are we gonna do that kind of intro to all of them?

MIKE: I don't know.

MATT: As if they've just found this one one.

MIKE: {laughs} Well, maybe.

MATT: So welcome to commentary if you accidentally—

MIKE: Can you turn on the commentary throughout? And it'll automatically—

MATT: {overlapping} I think so, you just hit the "audio" button.

MIKE: {imitating newscaster} In case you've accidentally hit your "audio" button, you've just joined already in progress commentary track number eigh-ty...

MATT: Alright, sorry, I didn't know, let's start over.

MIKE: {overlapping} I'm j'st kidding. No, no, this is great, this is great. We have nothing cool that has happened yet.

{pause}

MATT: So "Leeko leeko leeko" is something Mike used to say when we'd uh, like, get when he'd get excited. And um, what game is in the thing there, right there? Oh, "Odell Lake." {Mike laughs} That was a great game for the old Apple II D that we played in school.

MIKE: Our cousin Jim used to say, "Fonkity fonkity."

MATT: Yeah, he'd hit himself in the head with a

MIKE AND MATT: wiffle-ball bat.

MIKE: And, uh, yeah. And he used to do that, too. {Matt laughs} He used to jump around on his head saying "pont-reer".

MATT: {overlapping} That's not true. That's not true.

MIKE: He's a very talented guy.

MATT: "Pont-reer" is just, uh, my generic, like uh, cartoon sound effect. It just seems like cartoons would just be like, "Pont-REER!" and then they'd do something. Oh, this is the best dance ever. Mike did this dance. I love it. And actually, this is sort of like, I think we've mentioned it before, but it's sort of like, uh— What he's saying, the weird chanting he's doing is kind of like this, uh, in that very stru— uh, Bugs Bunny episode we were talking about, where he's on the desert island. He does, like, a weird native dance and just kinda sounds like that.

MIKE: {overlapping} Ohhhh. Matt always throws in this stuff from old Looney Tunes that I don't know.

MATT: Well, I mean, it's sub— subconscious.

MIKE: Yeah. Sure.

MATT: Don't sue me {Mike snickers}, don't— I'm not, er, not plagiarizing.

MIKE: I love those little, uh, French fry trays.

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: The red and white checkerboarded ones...? I remember one time I made, uh, some Long John— I made, uh, the Long John Silver's trays, cardboard trays that the fries and stuff came in, were— looked like boats, and I played with them and they're all greasy and... {Matt chuckles} But I loved them.

MATT: Uh, there's really a cleaner called, uh, Awesome

MIKE: {overlapping} Awesome, yeah

MATT: {continues} right? Yeah, our friend Tobin got us, that he keep— we keep mentioning.

MIKE: Look, this is one of the few times that Strong Bad eats ever.

MATT: {chuckles} It just disappears into his mouth.

MIKE: {overlapping} It— into his flesh mouth.

MATT: Couple of megachips. {Strong Bad in background says, "Maybe a couple of megachips"} That's what he said.
