You know, the kind

Strong Bad often mentions an object or other noun and then clarifies himself using the phrase "you know, the kind" to name a specific characteristic of the noun, but the clarification is typically something ridiculous and not what one would be expected to already know.

  • A Decemberween Pageant — "Naw it's a moon computer. Y'know, the kind the planets use to do their taxes."

  • Email animal — "Maybe I could be one of those deep-sea fangly fishes. You know, the kind that have Christmas lights all over them, and those custom lures hanging over their heads."
  • Email modeling — "I can totally see some of them being used in one of those glossy fashion magazines. Y'know, the kind that cost nine bucks and are 97% ads."
  • Email licensed — "One of our primary unlicensed licensees is shady daycares. You know, the kind that are open 24 hours and are surrounded by barbed wire."
  • Email specially marked — "What you do want to look for are cereals with sound effects in the name. ... You know, the kind with the squarish, sugared pieces of styrofoam that they claim are marshmallows."
  • Email magic trick — "Are we talking about, like, community center talent show type magic? You know, the kind with cups and balls, or those jangly metal rings where the guy's like 'Jingle jangle!'"
  • Baddest of the Bands — "It's a security jacket. Y'know, the kind worn by security guards at concerts."
  • Email Comic Book Movie — "Kindred soul? You sound like a religious metal band. You know, the kind that try and offset their religiousness with evil fonts and drippy graphics!"
