To make up for missing this year's Halloween, the cast dress up in costumes on Decemberween.

STRONG BAD: Uh, why does this feel... weird?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: What are you talking about? We stand around in the snow dressed in Decemberween-themed costumes every year. It's our thing! It's what we do!

STRONG BAD: Are you sure? I think we may have gotten our... "weens" crossed.

STRONG SAD: Can you please never say that again?

Easter Eggs

  STRONG BAD: Hey Bubs, nice Die Hard costume, man!

  BUBS: Don't you call me costume man, and this is just a promotion for the concession stand! {holds up a machine gun} Now I have a machine gun.

• At the end, click Strong Bad:

  HOMESTAR RUNNER: {slow; playfully} Say, Strong Bad, your costume's making me feel a little bit, uh... Loosey Goosey.

  STRONG BAD: {quickly} Shut your face pile right now, or I'm gonna start feeling a little... {slow; playfully} Punchy Wunchy.

  THE KING OF TOWN: I hope the Bumpus's dogs run through here and knock you over!

• At the end, click Strong Sad:

  STRONG BAD: Strong Sad, you look like a deranged Easter Bunny.

  STRONG SAD: I do not!

  STRONG BAD: You do, too! You look like a... pink nightmare!

  HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, Strong Sad, I absolutely ADORE your Donnie Darko costume.

  STRONG BAD: {quickly} More like Donnie Dorko!

• At the end, click the King of Town:

  HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, King of Town, an exquisite Devil Don King costume.

  THE KING OF TOWN: No, no! I'm Mister Heat Blister! I'm Mister Hundred and One!

  STRONG BAD: Uh, is that your age or your number of heart attacks?

  THE KING OF TOWN: Triple that number and you're in both ballparks!

• At the end, click Homestar Runner:

  HOMESTAR RUNNER: {singing; a slight echo from his voice is heard} Do you realize... blah blah blah... that I have the most... low budget style? Do you realize...?

• At the end, click Coach Z:

  STRONG BAD: Coach Z, even though no one wants to hear the stupid explanation for your costume, let's hear the stupid explanation for your costume.

  COACH Z: Can't you guys tell? I'm the rapping paper!

  EVERYONE BUT COACH Z: {groans} Oooh.

  COACH Z: No, no, check this out:

  {begins rapping while a beat plays}

  Looseleaf, college-rule, legal pad,

  I'm the rapping paper and I rap real bad!

  HOMESTAR RUNNER: {while Coach is counting his lines} Hey, Strong Bad, let's try it again.

  COACH Z: Aw, if I had a nickel for every time I've been groaned off stage.

Fun Facts

Explanations

• No Halloween toon was released in 2010. To compensate, the characters are dressed up for Decemberween instead, and Strong Bad says they "have their 'weens' crossed".

Remarks

• This is the first toon featuring costumes since Homestarloween Party to not include Homsar.
• This, like A Decemberween Mackerel, has a higher quality sound than most previous toons.
• Bubs' machine gun doesn't have a trigger.
• This is a rare instance that Free Country USA is mentioned directly.
• The King of Town suggests in his Easter egg that he is around 303 years old. However, in space program, released five years earlier, he claimed to be in his sixties.

Goofs

• When the mouse is hovered over The Cheat, the label omits the word "as".
• The King of Town's costume is misspelled "Heat Meiser"; it's supposed to be "Heat Miser".
• When clicking on the Strong Mad easter egg, Bubs' teeth lower and The Cheat's right arm raises. After Homestar is finished talking, both characters go back to their default.

Inside References

• The Cheat pulls out the Telltale Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People PC DVD with the Videlectrix alternate cover.
• Pom Pom's costume seems to indicate that he's hollow, which is reminiscent of Strong Bad's 108th email, pom pom.
• Homestar mentions his style.

Real-World References

• Die Hard is a movie starring Bruce Willis.
• Rankin/Bass is the production company that produced the stop-motion Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Christmas special.
• St. Elsewhere was a TV show in the mid 1980s. In the series finale, it was revealed that the entire show was the daydream of an autistic child staring at a snowglobe.
• The King of Town mention the Bumpuses' dogs, which featured in the plot of A Christmas Story.
• Homestar confuses Strong Sad's costume for a Donnie Darko costume.
• Homestar mistakes the King of Town for being a "Devil Don King". (He previously mistook the King for Don King in Jibblies 2.)
• Homestar comments on his own costume to the tune of "Do You Realize??" by The Flaming Lips, whose lead singer wrote and directed the film from which Homestar's costume originates.
• The Heat Miser first appeared in The Year Without a Santa Claus, another Rankin/Bass production. The King of Town also quotes the character's song from the movie when describing his costume.
