Here are some tips to help you get started:

colonization

Why are you so dead-set on colonization NOT being a Thanksgiving 'toon? Let's look at the facts:

  1. The emailer asked if Strong Bad celebrated Thanksgiving.
  2. In late November.
  3. Strong Bad revealed his own colonization story, which was a parody of the Thanksgiving story in just about every conceivable way.

Do you need a big stamp over the email saying "THIS IS A THANKSGIVING TOON"? --Jay 23:53, 11 Apr 2005 (MDT)

Well, the day when Strongbadia was first colonized isn't Thanksgiving. We may as well call Decemberween Christmas. --Trogga 09:53, 12 Apr 2005 (MDT)

And let's not get too focused on America here, Jay. In Canada, Thanksgiving is in mid-october... Let's remember that the internet is international.

Er, I'm pretty sure everyone realizes that we're referring to American Thanksgiving - because of the word "November". And the fact that H*R is an American toon. And the fact that the emailer was American. --Jay 02:09, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I'm Canadian, and I'm not offended. I know it's an American Website. (Oh, and I'm all for linking to the Wiki) ?Thunderbird? 02:04, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Okay, I'll bite. What's wrong with the birthday section on the Holiday Toons page? Aurora the Homestar Coder 19:43, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

Way too general. --Trogga 19:45, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

Huh? What does that even mean? They're birthdays. They're holidays. Aurora the Homestar Coder 19:45, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

"general" as in: "they are too minor". --Trogga 19:53, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

Okay, but I still like the birthday section. Anyone else want to weigh in? Aurora the Homestar Coder 19:55, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
I like it too. Of course they're minor. That's the whole point of the Wiki, it's to bring to light nuances that AREN'T obvious to everybody concerned. We can't just start ignoring minorities. Especially in this instance, with a finite number of refferances. There's no middle ground here, either a birthday is meantioned or it isn't. In this case they were. Several. Not sure just what applicable toon to direct your friend to watch on a certain day? No problem, look here. That's what we're here for. The preceding was just one example of the uses of a complete list of birthday refferances. ?Thunderbird? 02:12, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

OK, keep the Birthdays, but catergories for holidays with one toon or holidays that are only mentioned are ridiculous. While I too want the holidays in a timeline, but I like to keep things less bloated. --Trogga 20:53, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

I understand, and do agree with you on that. Especially the Characters page, now there's one that could do with a total overhaul. But since the information is going to be SOMEWHERE on the Holidays page, it doesn't really make it all that 'bloated' to give them their own section. Plus, chances are most of them will get more occurances later on. ?Thunderbird? 20:24, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

Triple the characters, half the readability

Is there some particular reason you keep changing "1⁄2" to "1/2" - worse, without putting a space before it, so "221⁄2" in garage sale comes out looking like 110.5? --Jay (Talk) 03:01, 8 May 2005 (UTC)

I don't... --TROGGA! 17:28, 8 May 2005 (UTC)

Hmmm... it always happens on your edits - just look at the above! Maybe your computer is doing it automatically? --Jay (Talk) 18:35, 8 May 2005 (UTC)
Yup, just looked at your last edit on this very page. Not only did all the halves change, but special characters in Thunderbird's sig changed to question marks. Even if it's not intentional, your computer is doing it (seems like it might be some weird sort of spyware - but who would write spyware that changes uncommon characters into more common ones?) --Jay (Talk) 18:37, 8 May 2005 (UTC)
No, perhaps he's missing the font, or the font file is corrupted, or the brower isn't communicating well with the font? -- Posted by: -erson Talk 18:10, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

Shareholders

Stop adding the {{tobedeleted}} tags on Shareholders. It's a fine page, and chances are no one is going to delete it even if you do keep it there. —FireBird|Talk 03:23, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

If don't want it deleted, keep the {{tobedeleted}} tag and say why it shouldn't be deleted on the talk page! --TROGGA! 17:14, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

That's not how it works, Trogga. It is the responsibility of the Pro-Deleter to make the case for why it should be deleted first. Those who don't want it deleted aren't in charge of making the Opening Arguments. If you want it to be deleted, make the change, then explain your actions. -BazookaJoe 17:37, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Maybe it shouldn't be deleted; I mean, the Shareholders have 4 lines and had a major role. And who knows, they may return in Biz Cas Fri 3. Sorry for the fuss. --TROGGA! 17:53, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

That's what these talk pages are for :) -BazookaJoe 17:55, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

What exactly do you look like?? I need to know! I am making a screenshot for the worm email, on the fanstuff wiki. I need it soon, or I will explode!! That happens sometimes. Please Respond.

other days

Please stop removing those exclamation points from "I'M THE HUMP" on other days. Wiki Standards are such that the transcript should match the Quote of the Week. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 21:24, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)

But what if a Quote of the Week claimed that, in Teen Girl Squad Issue 4, Cheerleader says "DGUYSSJSEDSEIDFUSEDFUISEDFITU!!!!!1122@@," not "I'm totally bummed that school is happening again this year." --TROGGA! 21:55, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)

That's a ridiculous argument (I believe the term is "slippery slope"). The issue at hand is nothing like that -- TBC has specified those exclamation points, it fits perfectly with what the quote sounds like, and there's no reason why they shouldn't be there.
