NES Endings Trivia Challenge
4 September 2007
- Where on homestarrunner.com has the main character of this game appeared?
Is Yo! Noid. Main character appeared on the alternate Halloween Costumes secret page. Heimstern Läufer 22:12, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Great jorb! Yep, Coach Z was thinking about dressing up as the Noid for Halloween in 2001, in The House That Gave Sucky Treats, as seen HR:halloween01.swf
11 September 2007
- Where in a Homestar Runner cartoon have this game's main character's weapons appeared? Hint 1: The main character's name is an anagram of the name of the "makers" of a potential tomb for Strong Bad. Hint 2: A band has composed a song about this entombment.
I'm not sure if I can take the credit for this one. When comparing this picture to Pokémon with an online friend, he pointed out which game it's actually from. Anyway, there was a bell in Homestar Presents: Presents. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:35, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
PS. Because of the source, I intentionally left the game's title off.
- Yep, you've got the correct game in mind :) I don't think the bell sighting is quite right — if I'm not mistaken, there's not a visible bell in Homestar Presents: Presents... let me know if I'm wrong though. And let's see if someone else gets the game, and then I'll sort out to whom to give credit. Nice job, Jay and Jay's friend! Trey56 03:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, right, that was Homsar's paintbrush. :p He actually has an account here, though he doesn't use it anywhere near as much as I do. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

- Um, The Adventures of Bayou Billy? I have absolutely no NES trivia knowledge, just a guess. And Jay, I'm pretty sure Pokemon was never a NES game. -- Super Martyo boing! 03:38, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- You misunderstand. I compared the picture to Pokémon with an online friend, and HE told me which game it REALLY came from, which, of course, wasn't Pokémon. I left off the game's title because I don't know if I should take credit. And no, it's not Bayou Billy. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:40, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yup, not Bayou Billy. Keep trying! The hints should be helpful... Trey56 03:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
That game is none other than Little Samson, an obscure platformer. A pretty good one, at that. -GG Crono 03:47, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're so close it hurts! And you're right, this game is great! Trey56 03:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
I got it, I got it. I just had a little...mental stnank. -GG Crono 03:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- BTW, this was the friend I mentioned. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ooh, I see you fixed it — yep, it's Little Samson. Nice work, GG Crono! Anybody got the correct appearance of his weapons in the Homestar Runner body of work? Trey56 03:50, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think Jay did earlier. -- Super Martyo boing! 03:51, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Nope, not quite — Homsar's paintbrush makes a bell sound, but it doesn't count as bells "appearing". Trey56 03:52, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- No, I didn't. Hmm... Seasonal Sweaters? --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:53, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 7? -- Super Martyo boing! 03:54, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Seasonal Sweaters is the one! Good work, GG Crono and Jay; I'll put you on my user page shortly. By the way, the answers to the hints were the following: One of Strong Bad's possible funerals involved preserving his body in a mason jar (about which Taranchula wrote a song). So the "makers" of the jar are "masons", an anagram of which is "Samson". Thanks for participating, everyone! Trey56 03:56, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, SMB, Teen Girl Squad Issue 7 was close, but the type of bell there is a school bell, as opposed to the style that Little Samson wields. Good guess! Trey56 03:58, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, like I said earlier, I stink at NES trivia, so my guesses are pure guesses. -- Super Martyo boing! 04:00, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

- What Homestar Runner character has dabbled in the occupation of the villain of this game?
- That's easy. Homestar Runner was a jailer in Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon. wbwolf (t | ed) 17:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- By "occupation", I mean "career". Also, this one's probably straightforward, but what game is it? Trey56 17:13, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- The game is Donkey Kong Jr.... as for the career of the villian... Bubs? He's done all sorts of crazy crap... wbwolf (t | ed) 17:19, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- You've got the game, but your answer to the trivia isn't quite right — there's a more specific career and a Homestar Runner character who did quite a bit of it. Trey56 17:21, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- You know, I always thought he was a plumber, so that'd leave The Buttcrack Plumber... wbwolf (t | ed) 17:26, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Like Mario, Homestar was a carpenter in Hands On Deck. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:23, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yup! Back in the day, Mario was originally a carpenter. Nice job, guys! Trey56 17:29, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

- Where has the name of this game's villain appeared (as text) on homestarrunner.com? Hint: the text is hidden in a recording. Hint 2: The text appears very close to someone with the male form of the name of "a really nice girl".
- Dracula, the villain of Castlevania II: Simon's Quest has been mentioned in Malloween Commercial :-) Loafing 20:18, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- You've got the game right (nice work!), but I'm looking for the place where his name has visually appeared on homestarrunner.com. Keep try! Trey56 20:47, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Um, Count Longardeaux? From record book? Because they both have "Count" in their names? Please? — Has Matt? (talk) 22:22, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- You've got the game right (nice work!), but I'm looking for the place where his name has visually appeared on homestarrunner.com. Keep try! Trey56 20:47, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nice try! :D But there's a place where the name "Dracula" actually appears in print. Hint: it's deceptively easy... Trey56 22:55, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
The Adventure Gamers Interview! - Chaos "77" story writer. 23:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nope — that interview doesn't appear on homestarrunner.com! Keep try! Trey56 23:29, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
does it literally apeear in print on the website? - Chaos "77" story writer. 23:32, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes sir! Trey56 23:43, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Malloween Commercial? Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:46, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- No, however, one of the scenes in that toon is set in the same location as the one where Dracula's name appears... Trey56 23:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't even notice that was the toon Loafing guessed. Sorry to waste your valuable time, Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's okay — my time is just like water. Trey56's time — why ever drink again? Trey56 23:58, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- I know it's when Marshie pops up form the ground in front of the tombstone, but I can't think, or even find, where it says "Dracula." - Chaos "77" story writer. 02:15, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
after looking at the image, i think the picture is from castlevania 1. am i rite? if not, back 2 jamesnintendonerd. Slipknot6477 01:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Very close — it's Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (Loafing got the game above). But the associated trivia question is still up for grabs, if you still want to try that one!
- By the way, the Angry Video Game Nerd (I think his Youtube account is jamesnintendonerd) did a review of this game. Thanks for participating! Trey56 03:11, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
japanese cartoon! Simon (male form of Simone, who is a really nice girl) is standing in front of Dracula's tomb (a cemetary was shown in Malloween Commercial) in the NES endings Easter egg that was the origin of this whole game! (Hence, deceptively easy.) — It's dot com 19:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- You are absolutely right — awesome job! Sorry to give out such a tricky question this time, but I thought it'd be a lot more fun than "where is this game referenced on homestarrunner.com". Anyways, that's all for the special Halloween Edition of the NES Endings challenge — thanks for participating, everyone! Trey56 19:42, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
6 November 2007
- Which two Homestar Runner characters have dressed up like the protagonists of this game?
Well, I doubt that any of the H*R characters have actually dressed up as snowmen. There is a snowman dressed up as Pom Pom in A Holiday Greeting, and then there is Strong Sad dressed up as a snowman in Fall Float Parade, but more or less involuntarily ;-) Loafing 19:21, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yep — you've got what I was looking for! And you're right: I probably could have worded the question better. At any rate, here's to 04 Glorious Seconds of Nunchucking Snowmen! Trey56 21:04, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Uploading Images
Trey!! I want to upload a pic for my userpage, but when I click on the upload file, it says "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups "autoconfirmed", "Bots", "Sysops". Return to Main Page. Retrieved from "http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Special:Upload" Is this true? Please help! CaptainN 19:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there, Captain N. Uploading of images by brand-new users is temporarily disabled for a short period of time, after which you will become "autoconfirmed" and be able to upload them. Judging from the time you created your account, I'd guess that this would happen for you in about 11-12 hours or so. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions! Trey56 19:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- That makes sense. Thanks for the info Trey! CaptainN 19:53, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem :) Trey56 21:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Table of Contents
Hey Trey, CaptainN here again, have another question for you. At the top of a lot of pages, like the one were on right now, there's a table of contents. Do those come automatically after a set number of sections, or do you have to add them, or what? Needing help, CaptainN 05:33, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there, CaptainN. I'm not sure what the default setting is for when a table of contents appears, but I imagine it happens when the page has a certain number of defined headers.
- I can tell you how to force the appearance or disappearance of a table of contents, however. If you want one, type
__TOC__
, and if you don't want one, type__NOTOC__
. Hope that helps, Trey56 06:16, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Trey! CaptainN 15:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem :) Trey56 17:05, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just a note, after my testing, I'm pretty sure you need 3 for one to show up unless you force it to. -- Super Martyo boing! 03:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Stery stoodie Story time
Trey, has you read my story yet? I think it's really good. You can get a link to it on my "Story" section of my userpage if you hadsn't. I hope you enjoy.

Trey, you know about storage of past topics. Is it a bad or good thing to have 32kb or something for your talk page? Does it mean that I need to start archiving things? Or taht it's close to being so? - Chaos "77" story writer. 01:59, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, Chaos. It's really okay either way... MediaWiki recommends that you archive your page, but you don't have to. Hope that helps, Trey56 02:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Very much so. thanks, Trey! - Chaos "77" story writer. 02:02, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Hebrew font for Welcome image
Hi Trey. Do you mind using a better Hebrew font for the Welcome image? I searched the web and foud this good one that are kinda similar to Bauhaus 93, but not quite. I really like Oria Bold, but it's too bold for you there's a lighter version of it. Tell me which one is more suitable and I'll email you the font. (Notice also that Guttman Haim for some reason don't have an exclamation mark, so it's Times New Roman) — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:57, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Not at all! I'll try using Oria Bold and show you what it looks like... Trey56 12:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Looks great. I'm using it on User:E.L. Cool/Welcome/he right now. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:12, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
The fanstuff wiki flash toons
Hey trey. just wonderin' if you know how to watch flash toons on the fanstuff wiki. I've been dying to watch the Airstar Flyer emails! - Don't say jorb 101
- Hi there, Don't say jorb 101. I'm not that familiar with much of the content on the Fanstuff Wiki, so I can't tell you for sure, but this is my understanding: most of the emails are transcript only, and I believe that Fake Character Email Airstar Flyer falls into this category. That is, there's no flash to go along with it, just a made-up transcript.
- I don't think it's actually possible to host Flash files on the Fanstuff Wiki. So, any Flash fanstuff would have to be hosted on another site and linked to, in which case you should be able to view it in your internet browser, just like you view Homestar Runner content. A good example of this Strong Devon's Emails.
- Hopefully I've understood and answered your question correctly. Talk atcha later! Trey56 03:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! (userbox help)
thanks for helping out with the userboxes. i'm new with this wiki stuff so any help helps! Kermit1234 03:23, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- No problem! Stop on by if you have any other questions! Laters, Trey56 03:25, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
thanks a bunch also for the picture thing too! <Kermit1234> 18:40, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- No problem — it looks good in your sig! Trey56 18:40, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
French Subtitles
Just to clear things up: you just added spaces to my translations before exclamation points and question marks. I question, though, because both my sister, who speaks French, and my french teacher both type and write without those spaces. I live in America, my two resources who helped me both learned French in Quebec. Is there something different between France french and Canadian french? The Goblin!! 06:44, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there — there are a lot of difference between Canadian French and French as spoken in France, but I don't know if this is one of them. I do know that this is something that Meuhcoin, a native speaker living in France thought was important. It'd probably be best to keep doing that for consistency with all the ones he's transcribed. By the way, I didn't know this either before he corrected me — they didn't teach it in my French classes either. If you feel like it, it's probably worth contacting Meuhcoin about, if you can get ahold of him. Hope that helps! Trey56 06:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Transcription
Thanks for taking notice to my hard work. I'm glad someone noticed. I'd really like someone to proofread those so they can be removed from the list, Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, I was carving my HSR-related pumpakin. But, thanks for noticing. Do you think you could proofread those? Thanks,Homestarmy Commando1
- Absolutely — I'll be happy to proofread your transcripts for A Decemberween Pageant, Halloween Fairstival, and The Best Decemberween Ever. It might take me a day or two to have time to finish it, but I'll be sure to get it done.
- By the way, which pumpkin did you make? Laters, Trey56 02:36, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- I made the one that's just the H*R logo. My pumpkin started drying up the day after I carved it, so the flimsy little star outline got all shriveled up and dissapeared. Other that that, it turned out gweat. Swarthily, Bubs's Concession Stand. Oops, I mean Homestarmy Commando1
- Aw, peas. I finally had a chance to proofread your transcripts, so I popped in my strongbad_email.exe Disc Five, went to go look at the commentaries you transcribed, and realized that they're all on Everything Else, Volume 2. Which I don't have. So, I'm afraid I can't proofread them for you — sorry :( Trey56 00:08, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Don't feel too bad. The couple people I asked to proofread those said they didn't have that DVD, so I guess nobody has that Everything Else, Volume 2 DVD, I'll get someone to proof those. I was gonna do it myself, but I decided against it at the last minute(even though my dad's an English major). Thanks anyways, Homestarmy Commando1
Uploading pictures
I was wondering... how do you copy pictures from h*r toons and post them on the wiki? I'm creating a page and I need a certain picture on it. Please respond, Don't say jorb 101
- Hi! Check out the "How to take a screenshot" section on Help:Image. Let me know if you have any other questions! Trey56 01:41, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
I just have one more question: how do you organize userboxes? Don't say jorb 101
- Good question. Put each one on a separate line, put
{{userboxtop}}
on a separate line above them all, and put|}
on a line below them all. So, it should look like this:
{{userboxtop}} {{userbox|...}} {{userbox|...}} ... {{userbox|...}} |}
- Hope that helps, Trey56 01:58, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
html URLs
If you would ever like to find those HTML files you posted in the sandbox, I pasted them here. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:44, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I can also get them from this version of the Sandbox, so don't worry about keeping them on that page if you don't want. Also, just as a note for myself, this is just a version of HRWiki:Subtitles/Data with all of the sections in reverse chronological order. Trey56 22:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
