[edit] Sig issue

Hey there, Techgeekmbg. It looks like the last edit you made to your signature includes mismatched tags or brackets, etc. On pages like this one, the timestamp after your sig is appearing on a second line, which is usually an indicator of that. I glanced at your sig, but there's too much going on for me to quickly identify where the problem is. So, I figured I'd just let you know so you can fix it. Hope that helps, Trey56 22:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

FIX'D! It is very tempermental like that...it has happened before. Stupid parserfunctions... what I have set up there is that whenever a certain date comes up, like the holidays, my sig changes. The next day, it changes back. the next on is Halloween, which you will see a preview of there.
Some other problems with you sig are that it is too big for Thanksgiving (and a tad too big for Halloween and 4th of July, but that may be okay). Oh, and you have to unnecessary brackets after your Easter sig (not the actual one, the one you have to show other people what it looks like). But I like your idea of the different sigs! See ya, Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:52, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I've wanted to get around to that for a while. Took a while for people to find it, though. The Goblin!! 23:55, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Sorry. But I was thinking maybe you could replace "Thanksgiving" with "Happy T!". That'll just be short enough to fit in the sig box. I think I'm gonna make myself a Halloween sig. (Not today. Maybe in a few days.) Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:03, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually, a lot of those were actually correct, just not updated. I removed those, they were too hard to keep updated. The Goblin!! 00:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Aww, I liked it like that. It wasn't too confusing. Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki RC widget

I'll test it out for you, Techgeek. I think Tiger comes out in four or five days, though I may not get it installed the 1st day. Where can I download the widget? Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:45, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't you mean Leopard? I'll email it to you. Or if you have a forum account, I'll send it to you by the forum. The Goblin!! 23:46, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Aww man. I was SURE it was called Tiger. Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:23, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Techgeek, I'd be happy to test out your Dashboard widget. wbwolf (t | ed) 03:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Undo function

Hi, Techgeekmbg, regarding this: The undo function undoes exactly one revision and no more. Since the editor who added that fact did it in two revisions, you can't use undo to revert it. You have to do a traditional revert, that is, go back and edit the version before the fact was edit and save it. Hope that clears it up. Heimstern Läufer 03:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] JengaJam

Thanks for at least trying to work on the JengaJam article. Just FYI, downloading the MP3 of the interview is a big help doing the transcript (right or CTRL-click and bring up the Save Linked File As... dialog). I've been meaning to get back to work on it, but I've been busy the last week. wbwolf (t | ed) 23:38, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] French translation

Wow, I didn't realize you were a French speaker — great! I tried translating some French subtitles back in the day, but it turned out my French classes didn't prepare me to write in the way native speakers are used to speaking :( Ah well, it's great to have another French translator! If you see Meuhcoin around, you should give him a ring — he's done a lot of work on the French subtitles! Nice work, and talk atcha later, Trey56 23:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, that's cool. What's your background in French, anyway? Heimstern Läufer 06:18, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
School. Lots of school. And a lot of advancing, at my age. Got a lot of help with my sister, who speaks French, too. The Goblin!! 06:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey Techgeekmbg, great job translating all those toons. I thought nobody else would show up to try and translate some more. Seeing that, I had almost gave up. Thanks!
I've done some corrections to your translations, as some parts wouldn't made any sense to a native French speaker. Your problem is that you're most of the time translating literally, something that can create sentences with sense for someone speaking English, but with absolutely no sense in French.
But, as you're not a native speaker, it's pretty normal that you do that kind of mistake. I also saw that you never use "Tu" when speaking to someone, only "Vous". "Vous" is only used when speaking to someone you don't know, or someone you respect. Seeing that Strong Bad has no respect at all for Homestar, he would speak to him using the "Tu" form. But once again, that's not something you have to know to speak French.
Anyway, as I said, you did a great job. I see that you're only 14 years old. Your French is pretty good for someone of your age. You won't find a lot of French 14-year-olds speaking English that good...Well, you won't find a lot of French speaking good English, unfortunatly.
Keep up the good work, and if you need anything, don't hesitate to send me a message on my talk page or trough email, I'll be happy to help!
See you around. Meuhcoin

[edit] Cup of Stew

Cup of Stew!

Hey Geek Tech. You've been making really good edits. So with further ado, I present The Iron Cup of Brunswick Stew!

This award, the first on HRWiki, is given to recognize good contributions and to let people know that their hard work is seen and appreciated. It was given to The Cheat by Strong Bad for his good work on New Boots.

Keep up the good work Techgeekmbg! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 01:09, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Merci Beaucoup! (thank you very much!) The Goblin!! 01:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I took French you know. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 01:14, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
How was I supposed to know that? Are you done, or are you still taking it? The Goblin!! 01:16, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm done. It only lasted 1/3 of the trimester. So I'm not as good as you are. Anyway, your work with validating is excellent. Keep up the good work! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 01:18, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name Change

WHAAAAAAT THE KWYJIBO! You changed your name? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Yep :) The Goblin!! 22:36, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Uhh, pretty cool. (Kwyjibo's from the Simpsons, right?) Homestar-Winner (talk)
Yes it is. The Goblin!! 00:13, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Leopard Widget

Hey again, user formally known as Techgeek. I just remembered, now that I'm 13 can you email me that Leopard widget if you don't mind? See ya 'round, Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Sent'd. The Goblin!! 23:33, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. It works good! Homestar-Winner (talk) 18:58, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Simpedia

Hey Goblin. Do you like the Simpsons? I created a wiki about the Simpsons, called The Simpedia. Would you like to join? Go Here. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I do, but there is already one created at Wikia. The Goblin!! 22:31, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcomes

Hey there, The Goblin. Thought I'd throw out a friendly suggestion. It's great you're welcoming new users, but with the new welcoming system, users are strongly encouraged to give each user a personalized welcome (based on their first edits or user page info) rather than substituting a template.

Also, in a case like this, I'd especially recommend subst'ing {{PAGENAME}}, or better yet, typing out their name manually. For more thoughts about this, check out this discussion. Thanks for listening, and take care. Trey56 00:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
