Welcome to The Homestar Runner Wiki! I'm Sam the Man. The Wiki is yours to edit. See The Introduction or The Sandbox to start editing. Well, stop my talk page if you need any help. Thanks, User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Good first edit. I think you're getting the hang of this. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 00:42, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thanks. I hope I can figure this all out. - TheGirl

How do I make it so you can click on my name? - TheGirl

Uhh, could you rephrase that? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 01:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

I know, I feel dumb trying to figure this out. I didn't know what else to say. I mean, like your name, it takes you to your page. I want to make a page but I want to know how to make my name clickable to take someone there. Does that make sense? - TheGirl

Is there somewhere else I should put my questions? - TheGirl

In order sign a talk page, you type ~~~~ (four tildes). That will not only include your name, it will add a time stamp. For more help in making a custom signature, check out HRWiki:Signature. And if you have other questions, just ask them here, and someone will help you out. wbwolf (t | ed) 02:12, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Does it work? The preview looks like it worked. But why is my name red? I don't want it to be red. TheGirl 02:13, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

It works just fine. It's red because you haven't put anything on user page. Once you have something there, it will turn blue. wbwolf (t | ed) 02:15, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, I don't want it to be blue, either.. but it works clicking on my name. That "custom signature" thing I'll figure out later. TheGirl 02:23, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to the wiki! Check out Help:Signature for help on setting up a custom signature, and let me know if you have any problems! Trey56 02:24, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I tried reading that stuff and I don't think I'm ready to play around with that, yet. I'm usually a pretty fast learner, so I'll be good at this sooner or later, I think. (I already see that I haven't been indenting right, it looks like.) Tomorrow (morning, I hope), someone that knows a lot about this kind of stuff said he would help me. Until then, I have homework I should be doing. TheGirl 02:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Sounds good — have fun :) Trey56 03:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I want to say I laughed out loud at the first line of your user page. Classic!—But homework on Friday! Being responsible! For shame! ;) Welcome to the wiki! — It's dot com 03:19, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Signature Image

Do you want me to upload an image for your signature? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 14:02, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, but I don't really want to give out my e-mail address or anything like that in order to send you the pic. I can wait. How long does it take, do you know? TheGirl 14:04, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
It's okay. Just tell me what picture you want. And I have no idea how many more days you can go without uploading. Why not ask a Sysop about how many more days until you can upload an image? (Like Trey56, DorianGray or It's dot com) User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 14:08, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I am pretty good with graphics and I have the pic just the way I like it. Plus, I'd like to see the pic with my name as the uploader. :) Maybe that's dumb, but that's what I want. TheGirl 14:19, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
(I believe it's 27 hours upon registration, you'll be able to start doing stuff.) —BazookaJoe 15:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I hope so. Who would know for sure? TheGirl 23:54, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
This, like many other things in this wiki, can only be known for sure by finding out yourself, testing things out yourself. After all, nearly nothing you can do here is completely permanent, and you are encouraged to be bold. Go to the upload page, fill out the form (following the instructions here and here) and click "Upload file". You'd think it said something if it didn't go through. See you around! --Sysrq868 00:06, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Huh? I don't think you understood my question. Let me ask it a different way.  :) I understand that new users can't upload for a while (I get a "Permission Error" just by clicking "Upload file") - I just wondered if anyone knows for sure how long it takes before I'll be allowed to do that. TheGirl 00:17, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
It's 48 hours. (I'm glad I can answer this question this time, last time someone asked me I had no idea. :P) — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 00:18, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Very, Very Little Girl

Okay, new question. I figured out how to put Very, Very Little Girl in one of my box thingies on my page, but I don't like the white border around her. I think it's on the pic itself. I think I could fix it, but I can't until I can upload. Can someone fix it for me? Pretty please? TheGirl 00:28, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Although I sorta really think you should start making real edits, and stop requesting things (I hope I don't sound rude) I went and fixed that for you. Happy editing!--~ SlipStream 00:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, a little bit, yeah, you did. I just feel really new, so take it easy on me, please. Sorry to seem so needy. :( TheGirl 00:45, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, the wiki is new for you. Once you get adjusted, you'll feel like the wiki's your home. I went through this stage. It's hard being the new wiki user, I know User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 00:47, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually it doesn't bother me, lots of users perfect their own page before moving on tho main space... it's a great way to learn. I know that you'd do the images yourself if you could, so that doesn't concern me. You have a really nice user page, kudos. I don't think i've welcomed you yet, so welcome to the wiki! I guess marzipan isn't the only girl anymore... :P Anyway, glad to see you're getting yourself settled in. Talk atcha later, — Defender1031*Talk 00:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, guys. If there was some "chat" page or something that I could comment on that didn't fill the recent changes with every new message, I probably wouldn't get on anybody's nerves. :) Anyway, I do feel like I have made some "real edits" .. I guess most of them were just adding periods and maybe don't count as "real edits", but I did add something to the blood page. Not my favorite thing, blood, but whatever. :) TheGirl 01:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Have a look at IRC sometime - it's good for hanging around and chatting. The Forum's good too. --phlip TC 01:27, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
TheGirl: you're doing fine, don't worry about it. And we need lots of gnome work (periods, grammar, etc.) so keep up the good work! Also, I replied to your good suggestion at HRWiki talk:Image use policy#Papua New Guinea? Also also, since you mentioned it, there is a way to chat with other wiki users, through IRC at chat.hrwiki.org. Laters! Trey56 01:28, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Color difference?

I don't if it's intentional or whether you see/know/care about it or not, but there's a slight color difference between purples on your userpage background versus your cool personal picture. If you changed the background color to #BC5DFA, it'd be fixed without having to dabble with the picture. Feel free to delete this message if you don't see point or reason in it. Catcha later! --Sysrq868 17:50, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Are you sure? My page used to have the background color BC5DFA but didn't match and that's why I changed it to B552F9, so it would match the pic. My graphics program shows that I have it right, too. Does anyone else see a mismatch? TheGirl 17:56, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Now that you changed it, it matches (for me at least). Sometimes image compression can alter colors very little, but at least enough to tick me off. :) I originally checked it with DotColor, which is a dandy little piece of software when you work a lot with colors and images. --Sysrq868 19:00, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I didn't see it before the change, but it looks good to me now as well :) Trey56 19:06, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, Trey56, you can always look at the history. ;) --Sysrq868 19:08, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, since you pasted the link right here for me, maybe I will! Yes, the new version definitely matches better in my browser :D Trey56 19:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
It didn't match the background for everyone either way, so I changed the pic. :) TheGirl 21:28, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Iron Cup of Stew

Hello. So, I hear that your brother, User:OptimisticFool was awared the iron cup of stew. Your user page is pretty good too. maybe you'll get one some day. You're a lot closer to it than me, that's for sure. Haldo 20:29, 1 November 2007 (UTC) user:haldo
