Hi, welcome to the wiki. Here is one thing that will make things easier as you become acclimated to to tedious things like getting a link right...at the bottom next to save page first click the show preview button. This will allow you to proof-read and check your links before saving and logging it on the recent changes page. As you might have already seen, if you typed the link correctly, it will appear dark blue. If its wrong it will be red. External links are a lighter blue.

Happy wiking. I R F 02:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Sig Help

Hey, Lopp. I saw you were having trouble making your signature work. I don't know much about them myself, but I'd suggest you look at Help:Signature, which has been very helpful to others. Hope it helps. --DorianGray

jpgs

Hey, please use pngs for images from now on. Just some advice! Bluebry 02:09, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Images from Homestar Runner at least. --Dacheatbot · Communicate 02:11, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I saw you were a little perplexed with how to do PNGs. Basically, you need an image program that can make them. I have Microsoft Photo Editor, that does it. My Paint does not, but I think some versions of Paint will. When you save an image, select how you want it saved, and see if PNG is listed. If not, you need to find a program that will.
By the way, an actual photo can be JPEG, and GIFs are OK if it's animated. But otherwise we use PNG here. Hope that helps! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:54, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Images

I see you've been uploading images lately. That's good! But you might want to read over the Image use policy before uploading any more. Thanks! — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 02:17, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Also, make sure to include the {{web-screenshot}} template on every image from Homestar Runner, unless not on the site and in phisical from, like a DVD screenshot (how is that phisical? I'm condfusing myself.) And uh, maybe a little info on the subject, like (from toon name). Happy Wiki-ing! Bluebry 02:36, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

No needpic

Please do not add the needpic template to any more articles. I have marked the template for deletion, and we need to square that away first. Thanks. — It's dot com 03:52, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Weclome to The NAGLC

Weclome to the NAGLC! Please check my userpage for updates as that is where they'll be. --Dacheatbot · Communicate 01:06, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Editing tip

Hey, Ten Ten, a tip: if you post an edit and it is reverted, rather than just posting it again, it's better to bring it to the article's Talk page. That way you can avoid an edit war, and it allows more people to offer their thoughts on the edit. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 14:15, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Back from wherever I went

Umm...I'm back. Thats it. Editing as annony because I'm too lazy to log in.

Do I know you?

Hey, are you in my algebra class? There's someone who's nickname is Ten-Ten. Ya know, in Mr. Tocco's class? I could be wrong, there may be ten thousand Ten-Tens in the world. If I am, sorry for the strange message. Steve Talk Contributions 01:07, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the mix up. I don't even live near you anyway! Steve Talk Contributions 12:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

German Subtitles

Hey there, Ten2. It's great that you tried a German translation of Subtitles:seasonalsweaters/de. Since you said that your German is "highly marginal", I think I should mention that the translation guidelines say that you should "only translate subtitles if you are skilled in both English and the desired language." And to help you improve your German, here is how a native speaker would translate it ;-) Keep on trangling! Loafing 00:17, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I worded that in a not-so-right way. It's not so much that my GERMAN is marginal, it's that my german VOCABULARY is marginal, so I was uncertain if the words for seasonal, presents, bows, rayons, knit, acrylic, or yarn were correct. The rest of it I can be certain that it is at least almost correct. · · T2|Things 00:44, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, if you follow that link I gave you, you can see that I had to change most of it. I'm a native German speaker, by the way. And please also have a look at the changes I made to the Peasant's Quest trailer. The only line that I have left unchanged is "Burninated!". I'm really sorry to tell you this, but your German isn't good enough for this, yet. As I said, I appreciate that you are trying to do this — and I know how hard and exciting it is to learn a second language — but you're not quite there yet. I'm sure you can find something else to help the wiki or the subtitles project. :-) Loafing 01:09, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
I totally give up. There's nothing I haven't attempted to do now that hasn't been reverted, scrapped, deleted, reformatted, or outright rejected. Only this. · · T2|Things 04:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Dude, no reason to give up editing! That's how a wiki works... I think most of my edits have been changed as well, and that's OK. Just keep hanging in there! Also, you've not been "banned" from the subtitles project. You're more than welcome to continue working on the English subs! Those English subs that you created were well done. Keep it up! Loafing 22:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Replacing <font> with <span>

Why are you doing this? My sig validated just fine even with the font tags. I already replaced mine with spans because you seem to be doing it anyway and it didn't change the look at all, but i was curious to know why you're doing all this. — Defender1031*Talk 22:22, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure this needs doing, but seeing as you are doing it, would you please write edit summaries that make sense out of context. Summaries need to make sense a year later in the page histories, and should not be geared toward the recent changes list. Something like "replacing <font> with <span>" would be fine. — It's dot com 22:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
The point has to do with keeping things forward compatible. Font is a deprecated tag; it's no longer in the language since the update to XHTML 1.0 trans. And when XHTML gets to the next version, Font will be obsolete and will no longer be interpreted by XHTML. Also, if you read on the validator's instruction page, it states to "try and switch people over to span".· · T2|Things 22:37, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Wow. good work soldier! You sound like a great five-bucks haver! — Defender1031*Talk 22:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I know of the rationale, and I'm just not convinced it's worth editing people's sigs unless they're breaking something on the wiki, like numbered lists. I think all the mainspace pages should validate, sure, but the secondary spaces are less important to me as far as that goes. (By the way, your website doesn't validate at present.) — It's dot com 22:51, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
If my website doesn't validate, it would appear you're running the parser. I'll have to fix that.· · T2|Things 22:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey, thanks!

Thanks for getting rid of that |} for me. My html-newbie-ness was showing. LOL

PS if there's a more appropriate way to contact a user (like some sort of private message) could you let me know? Thanks.

CoveredinSuudzu 15:22, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

No probalo on that |} thing. Wikicode (or whatever it's actually called) is kinda picky about those things. Besides, it's like my hobby to fix little things like that. And I don't believe there's any more appropriate way for contact, just talk page.· · T2|Things 15:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Hokey dokie. Thanks anyway :) CoveredinSuudzu 15:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
