Hi! This is Sam the Man. Please leave me messege and I'll get back to you. "BEEP"!

Date of Birth

You may want to get rid of the Day of Birth. Some creep could find it and start harassing you. Or something like that.

Thanks for the info. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Welcome Sam the Man!

Welcome to the Homestar Runner Wiki Sam the Man! We're glad to have you as a member. If you need any help, feel free to ask me or anyone else on the welcoming committee. You can also post questions on the FAQ talk page.

Welcome from the gang!

Here's some advice to get you started:

  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the help page.
  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to familiarize yourself with our rules and stuff, including the rules for your user space, to make sure you don't get yourself banned.
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to The Stick to see the projects we're working on that YOU can help with!
  • To practice editing, or to simply have fun, go over to the sandbox.
  • If you're looking for more community interaction, you can also register over at our forum.
  • If you see an update on that isn't listed on the Main Page, put it up here.
  • To sign and timestamp a post on a talk page, type four tildes (~~~~).
  • If you have a question no one else can answer, don't be afraid to ask a sysop like It's dot com or Jay, and always trust the FAQ page to help.
  • Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!

Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it. After all, your user space (including your talk page and any sub-page) belongs to you. I hope I can help you out if you need it, and also that you'll find the other users helpful as well. Remember, everyone else is here to help too, not to say your ideas are complete bull honkey.

linking to "running gag"

It is not proper wiki practice to link to things such as this. Please stop or I will be forced to sick a sysop on you. DeFender1031 13:04, 8 March 2007 (UTC) PS. Just to clarify, the part about the sysop was a joke, but still, please stop doing it.

Generic pages like running gag and Easter egg are generally only linked to here when we're talking about runnning gags or Easter eggs in general... when we're talking about a specific gag or egg, we leave those links out, 'cause otherwise it'd just be link overload... too many links can sometimes be less helpful than not enough. --phlip TC 13:09, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
What! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

I apologize if I offended you in any way

It certainly was not my intention to offend you, and I am always happy to see a new user join. I think your edit to my user page was a bit uncalled for, but point taken. I hope you'll accept my apology, and that we can come to be friends in the future. Very seriously, DeFender1031 15:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey! It's O.K! Me too. I would like to be your friend. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Show Preview

Just a tip for future reference for when you're messing with your user page: when you're editing, there is a "Show preview" button next to the "Save page" button – if you use that, you can see what you've changed without saving the page, which is easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and it doesn't fill up Recent changes with your edits. --phlip TC 23:45, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Please, use Show Preview when you're editing pages... it's much harder to keep track of the changes to the wiki when there's 10 edits in a row on the same page, all by the same person, tweaking the formatting in ways that would be much easier done with Show Preview. --phlip TC 12:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Sam, this is ridiculous. Please use "show preview" when editing your user page. If you don't know what we're talking about, then at least post here and ask. Thanks. — It's dot com 16:22, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks you for the info! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Editing others' userpages

You have been told before, I believe, not to edit others' userpages, especially not to add disparaging language to them. Doing so is considered vandalism. Don't do it again, or you may be blocked from editing. Heimstern Läufer 20:22, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Going through your edits, I see that you have added "I suck" three times to user pages of other users. This is not acceptable. You need to learn to a) not take everything so personal and b) use talk pages to tell others in a civilized manner about your grievances. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if someone defaced your user page. I also urge you to apologize to DeFender and Trey. Loafing 22:19, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Alright! Fine! I'll stop. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Strong Bad Allegiance

Please leave me a messege after the beep. "BEEP"!

Just asking formally if I could be in your awesome club. It sounds cool. Actually, make that kewl. -Brightstar Shiner 22:37, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Hey juys. Let me take this opportunity to point out our totally awexome sister wiki. I really think it might be a better fit for your clüb. Thanks one million. — It's dot com 00:02, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
If he wants to do more of it there, that's fine, but from what I gather "the club" is just putting a userbox on your page that says you're in it. It's kind of like the Posse one or the Nerd one. No harm done there, I believe. -Brightstar Shiner 16:25, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Alright! You are now part of the club. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
No, I would rather not It's dot com. I want it to be like T(w)een Guy Squad. Thanks anyways. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Well, only two members is hardly a club. So... Can I make it three? ;) — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 13:28, 18 March 2007

Sure. I'll send you messege as soon as I can. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Welcoming anonnies

I'm pretty sure we're not in the habit of welcoming anonomous users. DeFender1031 15:45, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, Sorry. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
It's alright, just it would get kind of annoying and repetative to have the welcome thing on every random IP's page. I'm trying to save you the work. DeFender1031 15:49, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I feel useful!

I'd love to be part of the Strong Bad Allegiance. A character that funny deserves the sort of fanclub that you are offering. However, if you like SB so much, why do you have a gif of him gettig pummeled? Drippingyellowmadness CoolS.png talk 18:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

And also, why are you using somebody else's personal image? --TotalSpaceshipGirl3 18:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Alright Drippingyellowmadness, your a member. The reason I have that image is because it's funny. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
I will not answer that question. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Your Signature

Hey there, Sam the Man. I'm just a friendly reminder that your signature does not conform to the guidelines. Images in signatures are limited to 20 pixels in height, and they should not use heavily distracting animations like your sig does. Please fix this. Keep on tranglin' Loafing 21:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey Sam

In the future, please don't edit my page. If you want me to change the way you're listed on my page, please post a message saying so on my talk page instead of editing it. Thanks, Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 02:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Editing while angry

Hello Sam. If you'll look at my reply on my talk page, you'll see that I don't actually have a problem with the article in question; rather, you simply need to follow the way we do things around here. I mean no disrespect to Dr. Clash, but if Phlip, who is a very accomplished editor (and is in fact a sysop here), nominates an article for deletion, then we are at least going to have a hearing on the matter. Just because an article is nominated for deletion doesn't mean it will be deleted. I want to caution you again against editing while you're angry. You might burn a bridge that you didn't really intend to burn. Just about every long-time user, myself included, has had something deleted that they worked for a while on. That's just the nature of the wiki, and you shouldn't take it personally or be discouraged by it. When things like that happen, I recommend you step back to cool off a bit before you do anything rash. Anyways, I'll talk atcha later, and keep on tranglin'. — It's dot com 20:33, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Secondly, I would like to mention that it is a very bad idea to remove a Tobedeleted template from a page. If you read It's Dot com's reply on the page, it clearly says to "let a sysop do that." Please, do not remove the template again. My paragraph isn't as long as It's dot com's, --TotalSpaceshipGirl3 21:41, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Da Iron Cup Award!

Hey, Sam. I saw you've been making tons of good edits, like creating Europa-pean Lobster, Trog-Cave, and all those other pages you created. So, I wanted to award you (drumroll...) THE IRON CUP OF BRUNSWICK STEW.

This award, the first on HRWiki, is given to recognize good contributions and to let people know that their hard work is seen and appreciated. It was given to The Cheat by Strong Bad for his good work on New Boots.

Keep up the awesome work, Sam! Dr. Clash 23:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh my God! Well, I would like to thank The Cheat for helping me win. And I'd like to thank my agent Bubs. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Editing another user's user page

Please don't edit another user's user page like that. Thanks. — It's dot com 19:54, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Look, I'm sorry. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
You have repeatedly defaced user pages, and you have been warned not to do it again. You know very well that this is not tolerated here, and the next time you believe it's necessary to vandalize, you will be temporarily blocked from editing. Consider yourself lucky that you only get a warning now. Loafing 20:55, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I didn't read your talk page closely enough, or I would have blocked you instead of posting here. Loafing is right, you are indeed lucky this time. There had better not be a next time. — It's dot com 21:05, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Page Edits and Ideas

I have created a few pages and I'm still trying to think of ones. If you have an idea, please leave me a message. If you need help, also leave me a message. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Hi there, Sam the Man. Actually, you might want to consider shifting focus to improving existing articles rather than trying to think of new ones to create. I've noticed that several of your articles have attracted discussion about merging or deletion (though several of those discussions have resulted in consensus to keep the articles) — the reason for this is that, with a few exceptions, we already have most of the articles we need. I'm sure it's not fun for you to have people discuss the deletion of your articles so soon after you create them, so I just thought I'd make this friendly suggestion. All this being said, I appreciate your contributions to the wiki, and you've made some good pages :) Trey56 20:29, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Woah, Sam!

How did you move an article when you're not a sysop? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 22:43, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

You see move next to the history button. I clicked onto it and typed in the new name. I'm not a sysop but I'm getting closer. Besides, you don't have to be a sysop to move pages. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:43, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, Sam the Man: As you may have seen, the last three accounts you welcomed were all vandal accounts that had been blocked indefinitely, so there's obviously no point in welcoming them. In the future, it would be a good idea to check Recent Changes, and partitularly the block log, to make sure of that. Note also that, in this case, it wouldn't have been good to welcome them anyway because their usernames were too similar to those of existing users. Heimstern Läufer 23:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Ooh, sorry about that. And thanks for the info! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Rock rock on!

And the sam said "let there be a page" and behold there was a page! Good work sam! DeFender1031 19:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. I think you're making pages that could easily be a paragraph on another page. — It's dot com 19:37, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Sam. I have a subpage that keeps track of ideas to improve this database. Maybe you'll find something you like. I'd love it if you could take care of some of these things. They are pretty important and it seems I'll never have the time or motivation to do it all. The page is located here: User:BazookaJoe/notes. Happy wikiing, BazookaJoe 01:59, 3 April 2007 (UTC) Thank you, Mr.Bazooka. I will look and find something. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Allegiance meeting

Hi Sam. The sandbox is for testing wiki syntax; it's not the place to hold a meeting. (I don't even know how that would work.) Let me again emphasize that, if you're actually planning to do something with this allegiance, then moving it to the fanstuff wiki is probably the best course of action. Thanks for understanding. — It's dot com 22:30, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Please do me the courtesy of giving me a few minutes to get my thoughts together before I post the reason to delete a page. There's no need for you to immediately post asking why "someone" nominated it for deletion. Look in the history. I nominated it. Since your post was irrelevant, and since you edit-conflicted me, I simply didn't resolve the conflict. I notice that you're yelling again. I am therefore warning you again not to do that. Also, please stop looking for pages to create. We have all the pages we need. — It's dot com 23:13, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

HAA! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
I was not yelling at him. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Final warning: yell at a user again and you will be blocked from editing. -- Tom 23:40, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Ah, Sam, I started out just as you are. Over-zealously trying to find minor pages to create. Just keep your cool, listen to these guys (they are like the top-dogs around here, man), and try to edit in different ways. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:08, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, Sam. I just wanted to clarify one of my comments here. There's no need to add the {{delete}} tag to articles that already have the {{tbd}} tag on them. That is, I totally understand why you did that in the last two cases — you were requesting that the pages be deleted because you felt that there was consensus to do so. Normally, however, the {{delete}} tag is reserved for articles for which no discussion is necessary (e.g., vandalism, etc.). In the course of time, sysops will go through articles with the {{tbd}} tag — usually, there's no rush on these. Make sense? Grood :) Trey56 23:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Sam. As a child under the age of 13, I'm afraid we cannot allow you to post your picture. Sorry. Thanks for understanding. — It's dot com 21:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Ohhh, thanks for reminding me! Sorry for me yelling at you. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Personal Image Limit and Signatures, Too

Hey, Sam the Man. It appears you have three personal images. Per our guidelines, you can only have two personal images (and one in your sig). Currently, you have three: Image:750.PNG, Image:Bart Simpson.png, and Image:NY Yankees Logo.png. Please mark one of these for deletion with the {{delete}} tag. Thanks for understanding.

Additionally, while we're on the topic of guidelines, your signature also does not fit regulations. According to the rules, a person's signature must fit inside this box:

Yours is several characters too long, as you can see. Perhaps dropping some of the images or changing the images to link to your talk and contribs could work. Thanks for understanding. Again. --DorianGray 18:31, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
