"And not those girly ones where you pretend to be a dog or a frog neither." Am I right? Am I left? --DorianGray
- Good job again, man. Heimstern Läufer

- Hey, you wanted to know if anyone was up, so I took a crack at it... Plugged it into Babelfish, and "dog or frog" jumped out at me. So there you go then. --DorianGray
- Yeah, that would do it. "Dog or frog" probably doesn't show up too often in any other quotes. Anyway, as always, there'll be a new one eventually. Same Heimstern time, same Heimstern channel! Heimstern Läufer

I got,"And this Maedchenlichen, in which one introduces oneself, one is not a dog or a frog." Which is obviously the same thing DorianGray was talking about...I just thought that translation was funny. With crap, Yeltensic (T • C) 08:19, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Poll
Would you mind participating in my poll on my user page? Bluebry 05:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Bluebry, I'm not really a fan of polls around here, especially not if they take place on a user page. I mean, part of the reason we got rid of the guestbooks was so people would only edit their own userpages. So I'd really rather not leave an answer for this one. If you really want to know my answer, you can read my user boxes and find out my favorite characters. Heimstern Läufer
05:28, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, ok. I guess I won't take it down now (see the reason on the page), but uh, is that why we got rid of guestbooks? Bluebry 05:31, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, it wasn't the only reason. I personally believe that all polls, contests and other such activities should happen on talk pages (or at least, the part where other users participate should), but I'm probably being cranky about it. Heimstern Läufer
05:34, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- If you want, I could move this to my talk page. Bluebry 05:35, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Whatever you want, man. I don't make the rules here, after all. Just one little caveat about this poll though: Remember, you are getting mostly hardcore Homestar Runner fans here who will answer. That doesn't necessarily represent the views of the Homestar Runner fan community as a whole. So even if your finding contradict WP, it may not mean anything. I would guess that the majority of fans who aren't hardcore like me do have Strong Bad for their favorite just because almost everyone comes to H*R by way of a SBemail. Basically, what I'm saying is that your poll may not convince the WP folk that their info is wrong. Keep on tranglin', Heimstern Läufer
05:45, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Then again, that info BzJ gave strikes me as somewhat more reliable. Maybe that could be used well. Heimstern Läufer

Sysop
Hey Heimstern. It is my pleasure to announce that you have been given sysop privileges and responsibilities. If you have any questions, never hesitate to ask. May you always use your powers for good and for awesome. — It's dot com 00:01, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, congratulations! ^-^ May you continue to do great things. --DorianGray
- Good jorb! I wish I could be one but, I never will. :-( --TheThingé 00:05, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Congraturation!!!!!!!!! LePorello / T / C 00:10, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- It is my honor to serve under such great a sysop --Dacheatbot · Communicate 00:22, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- CONGRATULATIONS MAN! I knew you'd get it sooner or later. Now I gotta update my sysop table... ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 00:27, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Good work! —BazookaJoe 01:08, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Meant to congratulate all the new sysops at once, but then the site seemed to feel like The Cheat after going through the dryer. Happy hundredth birthday, Strong Bad! --Jay (Gobble) 01:42, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Congrats! Actually, I thought you were a sysop. PREEOW! Bluebry 02:30, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- And now for my response. Dot com and the admin team: Thanks for this honour. I'm so glad to have the chance to be a sysop and assure that I will use my privaleges [sic] for the good of the wiki. To all you sysops who congratulated me: I'm honoured to be joining you. Watching you in action over the past few months helps me feel prepared to do this. Dorian: Man, all those times we've fought vandalism together... keep up the good fight, and always remain Dumbledore's man through and through. Same for everyone who's fought vandalism alongside me (Lapper, The Chort, anyone else I may have forgotten). Dacheatbot: Man, the pleasure is all mine to be able to work with great users on a great wiki. Keep representin' Ventura County. And Bubsty, should you ever read this: well, your prediction was right. What can I say? Keep on tranglin'! Heimstern Läufer

Congratulations Herr Heimstern Läufer (with an ä!). If I am not mistaken, you are the user who advanced to sysop the fastest. Only being here for 5 months, I think you broke the record since we moved to MediaWiki. Wow. just wow. How much a user can achive in such a short time. Your German translation has swept the wiki and even given birth to a new trand. You deserve this promotion. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 18:05, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, man. I think I heard once that FortyTwo achieved sysophood faster than I, and she was after the great migration. But I guess five months is pretty fast. I'm kind of surprised it happened so fast (I mean, what did I do to deserve to become a sysop faster than Dot com?) I'm glad to see you became one too. We're a so much more international sysop team now that you and Phlip or with us! Anyway, talk atcha later. Heimstern Läufer

- Homestar Coder became a sysop in just under two months, FYI. — It's dot com 18:14, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, now that you say it, I remember that, too. So let it be known that no, I do not hold the record for shortest time to sysop, nor for the longest bull honkey. Heimstern Läufer
18:17, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- OK, not htat fastest, but fast enough. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 18:28, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- It was May 6 -> Sept 9 for me. Four months and three days. That's almost scary. —BazookaJoe 20:17, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

your first block
The IP you blocked is a part of NSMC. Did you know that? --The 386 My talk 00:54, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes he does. However, it's probably not the same vandal as the real NSMC. This is just a persistent vandal using 65.167.x.x. I don't know his true identity, but Dot com could figure out if he's unique or connected to our other persistent vandals. —BazookaJoe 01:57, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- According to my search, it's actually not the full range of 65.167/16 - 65.167.68/22 looks more likely. (Trust me, I know what I mean.) --Jay (Gobble) 02:03, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Right, I'm glad that you can figure out ranges. Because I, at this time, cannot. I'll learn Sunday. Sunday. Someday. —BazookaJoe 02:07, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Some knowledge of binary numerical representation and use of this page help. ;) I actually had a class in networking at the university a while back, and the construction of IP addresses was part of it. I'll tell you this much: if a vandal is using a bunch of different similar IP addresses where the first two numbers are the same, blocking #.#.0.0/16 will block them all. Sometimes, though, you can get a bit more specific - as in this case, 65.167.68(.0)/22 covers the new vandal's IPs while blocking fewer users. --Jay (Gobble) 02:10, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Dr. Who
Doctor Who. 'Nuff said. Bluebry 02:28, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

March 7th
If you want to be consistant with the official records, the promotion occured at 0:01 of March 8th, 2006 (UTC). ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 14:23, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Meh, I've got my system set to show everything in Pacific Time, so I use that even though the records use GMT. I mean to fix another date to line up with that too, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Heimstern Läufer
