Lucas, it looks like you joined the validation committee back in April, but your sig contains deprecated HTML code. Since we're using the XHMTL 1.0 Transitional DOCTYPE, the <code>font</code> tag in your signature doesn't keep the wiki from validating, but it might if at any point we decide to switch to a more up-to-date DOCTYPE. I'd recommend you switch to using a <code>span</code> tag with a <code>style</code> attribute.

Additionally, color names have never been a part of W3C specs, but instead were invented arbitrarily by browser makers. This basically means "gold" may render differently in various browsers or it may not be interpreted at all. A good hex value approximation for "gold" might be #fc0.

Given these suggestions, an appropriate standards-compliant version of your current sig might look something like this:

Sig

I noticed you've copied directly off my signiture. Please, change it. Not out of selfishness, but because every time I see your sig, I think it's mine. Please change it, again. Be original! There are lots of cool symbols in the Editing Help seciton. Thanks. →[[User:FireBird|FireBird]]

I'm sorry if the site hasnot been updated, but my signuture looks like this: ΩLucas.
I guess when you change your sig, you will still display your old one. -ΩLucas
Sorry, sorry. (Sorry). I found one of your old signitures on Tom's user talk, so I wrongly assumed that you kept it. Sorry, again. →[[User:FireBird|FireBird]]
Heh, now it looks kinda like mine. Oh well. Not that I mind. Thunderbird 00:38, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

Do you know how to do templates?

Lucas, it looks like you joined the validation committee back in April, but your sig contains deprecated HTML code. Since we're using the XHMTL 1.0 Transitional DOCTYPE, the font tag in your signature doesn't keep the wiki from validating, but it might if at any point we decide to switch to a more up-to-date DOCTYPE. I'd recommend you switch to using a span tag with a style attribute.

<span style="color: #fc0;">ΩLucas</span>

Let me know if you have any questions about this recommendation. Thanks. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 19:15, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)
