21 didn't actually matter that much to me either, since I don't drink. 18 was important since it meant I could vote. And, Thunderbird, you're right; it is easier to rent a car when you're 25, especially if you want to avoid hefty fees. As for waiting for the senior discount... well, 40 more years isn't that long! Two Keyboards?

My brother-in-law does have random russian words printed on paper hung around his house though, with an english translation and an appropriate picture, as a learning aid. Ok. First of all, chill. No need to shout and type multiple numbers of exclamation marks for the purpose of wishing for a name to be included in a list. I'm sure that every user including you is awesome in his or hers own special way and for some reason should be included in this list, but as you can see, only a few did get to be listed. Why, do you ask yourself? Why they and not me? Well, first look at the sheer number of contributions each user have on this great wiki of ours. Second, look again at the list. Besides each name there is a reason for why I added it. May it be for the helping hand that they have given me times and times again, or may it be for a more personal reason non other that they are my friends. For this I'm sorry, The Thing, but at this point of time you a fit in neither category. If I was to add you to the list, what can I write beside your name? I know. English is stupid. I didn't come up with it. One of my biggest pet peeves: Jennifer and General are pretty much the same sound at the beginning, so WHY THE DIFFERENT LETTER?!?!?!? And howcomes "Q" always needs a "U" behind it? Why didn't they just create a "QU" letter? Yeah, the "Most common language of the world" should have been better thought up. I'd like to point out that "wee-kee" is more-or-less the proper pronounciation, as it comes from the Hawaiian word wikiwiki, which mean "quick". "Wee-kee" is how it'd be pronounced in Hawaiian. See also: Wikipedia:Wiki --DorianGray

Languages to the masses

I'd like to point out the superiority of German over English in that it makes perfect sense from a phonetic perspective. None of that "rough, cough, through, though" crap. Heimstern Läufer 06:34, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

You're preaching to the choir man. Though english is useful to know, I wish I'd learned another one too. Oh well, too lazy/busy now. If I ever were to though, German or Hebrew would probably be two of the top choices (German because everything sounds so cool and authoritative, and Hebrew because I think i'd be kinda cool to read the bible in the original Hebrew, and because "Shaloam" is a rad word). Not only that, but I read somewhere that Korean is such a simple language, you can learn to read it in a day. You can't understand it, but you can read it outloud. First of all, it's "Shalom", without the second A. Second, if you are going to learn Hebrew for the bible, don't even try to come near an Israeli living today. The bible Hebrew and the modern Hebrew are not one and the same and are completely different. The sentance structure changed alot through the days and alot of new words were only inevented in the beginning of the 20th century. Oh, I know that. I'd assume you'd run into the same problems as reading the old king james version in english (Or should I say "ye olde King James") With all the thee's and thous, it's hard to make heads or tails of old english nowadays too, since it's changed so much. The bible is understandble, atleast most of it, but it takes some time and a second reading to fully grasp it. I never read "ye olde King James", but I trust you with the thous and thees. Learn Hebrew, it's a fun language. And what we lack in made-up sounds we cover it up in other non-sense rules like the gander of numbers... bugh. Have any of you ever attempted to read Old English? And I don't mean King James English; I mean the language of Beowulf. It's incomprehensible to the modern English speaker; in fact, its closer to modern German than it is modern English. Just an interesting commentary about changing languages. Hey there! I think it's awesome that you referred to Stu as an "Übergeek". I kid you not: I am wearing a T-shirt that has that exact word on it right now.
