Your recent contributions

The coveted Iron cup
Pure Genius! Cold-hot-fresh!

Hey Dr. Clash, just wanted to say that I've noticed you make a lot of good contributions recently (examples: the work on moving Eh! Steve to Eh! Steve! along with its links, and archiving the Weekly Fanstuff and Sketchbook entries from 2006). As a result, I hereby award you The Iron cup of Brunswick stew. From HRWiki:Barnstars,

This award, the first on HRWiki, is given to recognize good contributions and to let people know that their hard work is seen and appreciated. It was given to The Cheat by Strong Bad for his good work on New Boots.

Thanks for your hard work! Trey56 04:56, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I second this! You are off to a way better start than I did. Plus, I would like to comment that your image uploads for The Decemberween Tree and Strong Badathlon (contest) are top notch! Great ideas! (Did you know I started both of those articles, too?) So, keep up the great work, and here's a nice cold glass of Suudsu. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 03:54, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Reverting

Hi, Dr. Clash. Good work around the wiki. One pointer: when reverting edits, please explain why you've reverted. In this case, for example, 0rion needs to know why you reverted his/her edit. Thanks. Heimstern Läufer 21:51, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Edit Summary

Hi there, Doc. Great work on fixing all those toon names and all the redirects that fallow. You have a good eye for that think, I noticed. Another thing I noticed was that you not always use an edit summary. The summary is an important tool that help other RC patrolers know what you've done without actually clicking the diff. Edit summaries are especially important on mass-edits, like redirect removing. If you make a summary like "removing redirect", "no redirect" or "fix link" people who patrol almost automatically skip those pages with their eyes and see the other edits so they don't have to click each one. If you have a hard time remembering to add an edit summary, there's an option in your preferences, under Editing, called "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". You are a good contributor and I hope you'll continue to be. Have fun, Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:05, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I use that profile reminder myself, it is handy. By the way, edit summaries are also really useful when viewing the history of a page's edits. If I'm looking for when a particular change was made, for example, the edit summaries really help to narrow it down. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 16:56, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Coffee

Hey Dr. Clash — nice work on Coffee! Trey56 02:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, it was kinda bothering me that there was no page about coffee, so I just made it.Took a while, too :P Dr. Clash 02:10, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Yup, that kind of research—looking up appearances and finding reference links—is time-consuming. Trey56 02:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Ooh, and lots of redirects from misspellings! I could never remember just how many "f"'s and how many "e"'s it is, though my choice of username pretty taught it to me fairly quickly. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 03:46, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright Tags

Heylo, Dr. Clash. Please make sure that you tag images with the right copyright tag when you upload them. You can choose a copyright notice from the "licensing" drop-down list during the upload process. For homestarrunner.com screenshots, "web-screenshot" is the appropriate one. If you forgot to tag images while uploading them, you can do it afterwards by editing the description and adding the {{web-screenshot}} template. Keep on trangling! Loafing 23:02, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking about that when I say DorianGray tagging all my images. Now, edit summaries and image tagging, that's 2 things I need to remember :P Dr. Clash 23:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes :-) Loafing 23:05, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Committees

I'm already in recent changes patrol, but I'll probably join the welcoming comittee eventually, once I dispel my laziness and make a welcoming template. Dr. Clash 23:27, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay. Sorry for accidentally putting this on your page. *blushes*. Sorry. Keep up the excellent edits. I love the Nobot page. :-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:41, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Oh, hey thanks for aggring with me. Maybe we should be friends some day. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

I need a little help

Oh hello. I was wondering on a history of a page, how do you write a comment something? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

When you go to edit a page, see where it says: "Your changes will be visible immediately. If you would like to test or practice editing..." etc, under that it has a box that says "summary". There, just type what your edit's all about, then submit the edit. The comment'll then show up in Recent Changes and the history of the page. Keep up the good work, Sam. Dr. Clash 21:03, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Also, I hate to annoy you, but how do you find a new image that's not on the site? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Um, I'm not sure what you mean, but to find any image, you have to find a link to it on some page. Could you try to clarify your question? Dr. Clash 01:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Or you could use the search. Note the checkboxes at at the bottom: Make sure (Main) is unchecked and Image is checked. Loafing 12:09, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank You very much

Overall, thanks for the award. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Hey Mr. Doc

You don't mind that I created The Dancin' Homestar Runner Musical Nobot do you? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

It's not my article, just my picture, so it's cool. Dr. Clash 20:20, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Guitar hero thing

Oh, i thought that he was just playing it on the game, i didn't realize that it was actually a PART of the game as http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Image:TrogdorGH2.jpg proves. DeFender1031 02:03, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

It's all cool. Everyone's made mistakes :P - Dr. Clash 02:07, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Doc

How do you get the source filename when uploading an image? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

What you do is save an image to the computer. The, you press "Browse" next to the source filename and find where you saved the picture. Click on the picture, press OK, fill in the summary, and click upload. Dr. Clash 22:34, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!!! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Also I really hate to anoy you but can I say the source filename is a wikipedia page if I want a wikipedia image? Have a great day, User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man , 7:31 (East Cost time), April 9 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, to upload a wikipedia image, you have to right click on the image, save it, and then upload it. I don't think you can upload straight from a URL. Dr. Clash 13:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Really hating to annoy you, but how do I upload an image straight from the site? Like an image from Strong Bad Email that hasn't been uploaded? Have a great day, User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Don't worry, it's not annoying. Doesn't everyone love seeing the yellow new message box? anyway, to get an image off homestarrunner, go to the part that you want to screenshot in a toon. Then, hold shift (or the Fn button on certain laptops) and press the Print Screen (or Prnt Scrn) button that's in the row right next to the F12 button. Doing this screenshots your whole computer screen, including the toon. From there, just go to MS Paint, right click, and press paste, and the image of what was onscreen at the time will be pasted. From there, crop the image, save it, and upload it. Dr. Clash 13:37, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
What's MS Paint? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Microsoft Paint. Or just Paint on most computers. Dr. Clash 23:59, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Every time I clear parts of an image on MS Paint, it says the file is to big. How do I trim down the edges making the file smaller? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
It's kinda hard to explain, but first, you have to use teh dotted square tool to put the image in the top-left corner. Then, scroll as far down and to the right as possible until you see the gray border, and in the very corner, you should see a blue square. Click and hold on the square and drag your mouse up to the bottom right corner of the image. The gray border should expand so that your picture is at the top left corner and the bottom and right sides are surrounded by gray. It's kinda hard to explain (again) so ask if you need me to explain it some more. Dr. Clash 03:46, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Or you can get this easy, free, ad-ware less Irfanview program. [1] Trust me, it is easier to crop, compact, and save under .png with this program. It is entirely free, and from a very trustworthy source. Your father, TheYellowDart(t/c) 20:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Your a member! Do the normal thing I say. Oh and by the way, you should get your own sandbox like me. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

You gave it too me, I give it to you

You win

Like you gave it to me, I'm giving it to you! You made great pages like Marzipan's Art Supplies. I know you won it before, but you deserve again. You created tons of pages more then me, but mine are more popular. Weird? Well anyways, talk atcha later. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Whoa! Double the Iron Cups, double the fun! Anyway, yeah, I've noticed that my pages always seem to be made, minorly edited, then left untouched. The only big impact I made was with Lotionman, and I don't think I ever wanna go through this again. Thanks! Dr. Clash 00:26, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Making pages popular

I found an idea for making your pages popular. Go to your page you created and keep loging out and loging in. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

What, so the view count goes up? Meh, I don't mind, anyway. As long as the page is there, and it has helpful info, I'm happy. Dr. Clash 13:53, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

MVU

Congratulations! You won the MVU (The Most Valuable User). You are the 1st winner to win it! For your userbox, I don't care what you put for that award. Congrats! User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Awesome! Thanks, Sam! Dr. Clash 20:20, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Moving Images

How so I upload a moving image? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Make sure it's a GIF file. Then, just upload it like any other picture. Dr. Clash 20:07, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
How do I get a gif file? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Well, if it'a moving image, it should already be a GIF. Dr. Clash 22:41, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
And how do I capture it? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
That's what I don't know, how to make one myself. You'll have to ask someone with better computer knowledge :P Dr. Clash 12:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Uploaded images

Hey there, Dr. Clash. I noticed that you have an uploaded images subpage — several users have agreed that this type of page does not satisfy the requirements for user subpages. The two main reasons for this are that they don't directly serve the project and that there's already a built-in way to link to your uploaded images: your upload log.

Let me know when you receive this, and I'll delete that page for you, or go ahead and make a comment here if you disagree. Sorry, and thanks for understanding. Trey56 01:53, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Ah, didn't notice that upload log. Just delete it. It'll be easier on me, seeing as I won't have to add an image every time. Dr. Clash 03:07, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Cool, thanks. By the way, I know what you mean about the effort of updating the subpage — I had an uploaded images page for a while too :) Trey56 03:08, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Preshy image

Hey there. I noticed you uploaded Image:Preshyandrafferdy.PNG. Perhaps you could have a look at Talk:Main Page#Image request, por favor. — It's dot com 04:26, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
