I added that fun fact because it is a little odd that Blue Laser would tell his minion to add something that has already been added, especially since Blue Laser appears to be staring at the list as he says it. I would think this merits some fun fact-ness. —Guard Duck talk 22:23, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

It's been added and removed a couple of times, and is on the talk page without much response. I personally think that something that obvious isn't notable, that's all. You are right, i should have been a bit descriptive in my summary. (Also thank you, my talk page is no longer lonely.) — Defender1031*Talk 22:31, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Happy 8600

If the template IS on the page, shouldn't we link to it? Why aren't the TD and iMac onthere, either? -- Lazylaces Talk 14:45, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

This is not the place for this discussion. They are not on there because they are not strong bad's nor has he ever used them to check an email of his... actually, on second thought, he DID use TG once... so perhaps that one should be... i don't know, why not start a thread on the talk page for that template, as in, not here. — Defender1031*Talk 17:46, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Good user

Would I be qualified as a good user? I know I don't do much, but I try to make articles and Images better... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif

Everybody is a good user! We all do something to help the wiki as long as you're editing, I like to think. Acam30 12:30, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Do I qualify? BBG 02:01, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Of course! :] MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif

You deserve this. —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 03:45, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. — Defender1031*Talk 03:49, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

You deserve this. You earned it, so hang it on your talk page in honor! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 16:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry that I was mad at you at the talk page. I hadn't exactly realized what you were doing. Sorry. Thanks! —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 22:44, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Not a problem. I understood that you were unaware of the proper way to move an article. — Defender1031*Talk 22:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Heyyyy...

Will you umm... make me a... halloween sig? Acam30 01:25, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

I can try, but my sig is very simple, just a gradient. All i did was change the colors of it. In truth, i'm pretty bad at sig-making. I would probably temporarily make homsar in orange on a black background and do something with the letters and those colors. — Defender1031*Talk 01:38, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
I can help with the image, if I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here.. (a pink pool of blood, perhaps?) ;) OptimisticFool 01:45, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm already in the process of uploading... some of the edges are a bit off, but i expect it won't matter in the 20px size anyway. — Defender1031*Talk 01:49, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Ooh okay. Coolio! Opty... for the image I was thinking maybe HOmsar dressed as Slash? Acam30 01:51, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
In that case, i'll let opty handle the image. (I suggest re-uploading over the existing Image:HomsarInPink.png so that it doesn't use another PI page for Acam, as well as so that that part of the sig doesn't need changing.) — Defender1031*Talk 01:55, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Done. OptimisticFool 02:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps it'd look better if you gave him an orange shirt? — Defender1031*Talk 02:19, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know. Orange and black aren't the only colors that would look Halloweenish. But here's what he looks like at full size and as part of the sig:
Acam30 orangeslash20pxva7.png
Acam, your thoughts? OptimisticFool 02:38, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
YAAAAAY!!! Thanks guys! Me likey! Acam30 11:33, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Do you prefer the blue- or the orange-shirted Homsar-as-Slash? OptimisticFool 17:02, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Blue is grood. I likes it! Acam30 11:22, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Sysop

DeFender, you need to be a sysop. I'm surprised that no one else has made you one yet. You would make an awesome one! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 11:40, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Wait, DeFender's not a sysop?! I'm speechless here, honestly! I agree, he needs to be one! --70.143.29.193 02:28, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Truthfully now, I wouldn't mind him to die in a hole. 70.148.111.10 19:32, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Wha... why?! What'd Deffy do this time? Acam30 19:34, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
He didn't die. 70.148.111.10 19:35, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
I assure you, i'm dead on the inside. Seriously, let's not do this here. — Defender1031*Talk 19:37, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I agree with Acam. He needs to live and live as an admin, now that I think about it... =370.148.111.10 19:47, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Your Pic

Defender, the Fire in your pic kinda looks like The Cheat is on Fire... a very crude The Cheat that is. :P --Wi2K Talk-Favorites-173 16:01, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Your sig pic

Do you want me to possibly remove the background? Just wondering, I'm bored and have photoshop and need to do something productive. -- Lazylaces Talk 12:40, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

No thanks. I don't feel like wasting a personal image and wiki server space on a one-time holiday sig. — Defender1031*Talk 15:48, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Scripts

How do you write scripts? Like to do a gradient comment. Where do I go? What do I do? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 00:00, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't know what you mean by "comment". But the script i wrote to do gradients is in C++. I've spent nearly 4 years studying programming, which is how i know how to write scripts. I don't know where to tell you to begin. — Defender1031*Talk 00:01, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Quick Question

Hey! I just have a quick question. How do you submit fanstuff? I searched it, but I just got a link to a page that didn't do anything. I don't know if you know or not, but I thought it was worth a shot. Tigerstripe 21:58, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I really don't know, having never done so myself. I assume it's as simple as sending a picture of it in an email to TBC, but i really don't know. Phlip once got his thing featured, why not try asking him? — Defender1031*Talk 23:47, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
You could always just Email TBC. Loafing 23:55, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Redirects

Hi DeFender1031, It's Mas12806. I was meaning to ask you, how do you make a redirect? I wasn't exactly comfortable asking an admin, and I needed to know how so I could keep the Wiki moving. And your welcome for the Brunswick Stew! Thanks! —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 02:34, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

You create a page with the content #REDIRECT [[Target Pagename]] — Defender1031*Talk 02:41, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

I knew that way, but when I tried that, it came out as this instead as a regular redirect:

  1. REDIRECT Homestar Runner

And a regular redirect page looks like this. Thanks! —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 03:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 03:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean by a "regular redirect"? what kind of redirect do you want? — Defender1031*Talk 03:37, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Did you put a space between the "#" and the word "REDIRECT"? That would cause the redirect not to work. Homestar-Winner (talk) 03:39, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Note that when you preview a redirect page, that's how it'll look. When you actually submit, the MediaWiki software does its magic, and it turns into a proper redirect page. --Belthazar 03:49, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Now I understand everything. Thanks DeFender1031, Homestar-winner, and Belthazar. A new redirect I did: The Brothers Chaps Office. Thanks! —Mas12806 (talk·contribs) 13:04, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Could you set me up with a Sig?

homsarstrongbad150 sent me to you if I wanted a sig and colourful username, could you tell me how to do it? ALJ123456

You may want to start here and here. — Defender1031*Talk 20:01, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey DeFender, I have a sig but can you blend some colurs together plz? like green and black and whatever else? It would be a big help. thx. also, could you show me how to make it show up whenever i do --~~~~? At the moment i just paste in the code. zee you nezz tim! Open Source Greg(talk · edits)
I kind of need you to be a bit more specific about what you want. And as for making it work with the tildes, go to your preferences, set your signature to be "{{User:Open Source Greg/sig}}", and make sure the "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" box is checked, and then save. That should do it. — Defender1031*Talk 18:02, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
wow, thx. I guess my sig is good enough. Open Source Greg 00:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Would you suggest changing my sig at holidays, or my birthday? OpenSourceGreg 00:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
I like to. But it's totally up to you. If you're like me, you'll just bug smart peoples like Deffy here to make you one whenever a holiday rolls around. Acam30 03:30, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
And if you're REALLY smart, and your name is Acam30, you go online while you're editing to say hi every so often... — Defender1031*Talk 03:32, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, Acam30, I wasn't suggesting he make me one for holidays/birthdays, I was asking if it was a good idea to change it for holidays/birthdays. Also, could anyone tell me how to blend colours together in your sig? Thanks. OpenSourceGreg 04:06, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
The color blend thing is a script i wrote that is currently available only to me, that i intend to re-write at some point to make it web-based so that anyone can have access to it. At the moment, you need to tell me exactly what colors you want and what the text should be, and i can do it. — Defender1031*Talk 04:11, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Basically, I just want to have one color blend for the whole year, and change the pictures to match that time of year. The color blend I want is dark green --> light green --> white/light grey. Do you think you could help me? OpenSourceGreg 10:18, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, I want a thicker font. OpenSourceGreg 10:26, 5 April 2009 (UTC) Sorry if this is too much, but I feel the better the sig, the better the user
Never mind the font, I figured that out :) OpenSourceGreg 10:43, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Do you think you could help me with the color blend by the 8th of april? because that's my birthday? OpenSourceGreg 09:45, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

"then why did you delete this too?"

If you really want to know, it's because I'm using the Wii to edit again. (my Lappy's battery doesn't charge) BBG 02:28, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

DVD transcripts

I did the commentary transcripts for coloring and trading cards, but they probably weren't completely accurate. Can you take a look at them both, please, and fix them both if you can? Thanks. MHarrington 00:50, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

What makes you think that i have the DVDs? — Defender1031*Talk 01:01, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I've seen your scripting for the keep cool, which is on the same DVD as the two emails I did, so I figured you might be able to help. MHarrington 01:05, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Whoops. My mistake, it was The Pizz who had done the keep cool email. MHarrington 01:10, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Apparently I'm Not Helping

I have recently been charged with not helping when I post on the wiki.

Where I come from, teaching people to learn the meanings of phrases before they use them IS contributing - To society and education. Talkheader

Hey, I've created a new template at Template:Talkheader. I was wondering if you were any good at Wiki code, because I'm having three issues with it. Once the box is finished, I'd like to customize it to the Homestar Runner Wiki. Also, if this is redundant, let me know. Son 16:35, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey there, i'm actually curious what all these templates you're creating are for. We tend not to create templates without extensive discussion. I get the talkheader one, but not the others. (Also, there's better ways to put headers on all pages of a namespace than templates, and such a thing is best left up to the site developers.) — Defender1031*Talk 16:36, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for tagging those. I wholesale copied the Talkheader template from Wikipedia. In the process, it had these other templates layered in it. In my tired idiocracy, I tried to build those as well. It was becoming hopelessly complicated. At that point, I at least moved them into my userspace, though it's probably a lot simpler to just delete those in the first place. I thought that perhaps a talkheader would be a nice improvement to the site. I probably should have put in a request some where. If that's the case, I'll keep that in mind for the future. Son 16:47, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, i can tag the remaining ones in your user space for deletion if you want. As for the talk page header, we already have something sort of like it, {{talk}}. It might be worth expanding and seeing if the devs want to have mediawiki automatically add it to the top of every talk page. I certainly would support the idea, your template makes it very clear what talk pages are for, and it might be good to have a short list of talk page rules there. I think i'll bring it up with the devs and get back to you on it. — Defender1031*Talk 16:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds good. I appreciate your help! Son 16:55, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Anytime. And let me officially welcome you to the wiki. I notice you joined over a year ago, but didn't do much at the time and never got properly welcomed.
Thank you! I appreciate your welcome to the Wiki! Son 17:05, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

tt

I looked up what < tt > means... From Wikipedia: An HTML element for teletype or a monospace font family, e.g. monospace. I'm guessing it's something that standardizes fonts if people use different skins in their preferences.

Hope this was of interest to you. It was to me when I saw you wondered (what I'm sure was probably more rhetorical than less...), so I looked it up. Thought I'd spread the word! Son 18:36, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. It was unnecessary where it was anyway, also i think that these days it's been obsoleted in favor of more standardized css. — Defender1031*Talk 18:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Pictures

Hey dude, one question. You wouldn't mind if you could send me pages that need images, I'll be happy to supply one! I mean you don't have to do it every day but, just tell me pages that are in DIRE need of images. Asking for a favor, Record307 23:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Actually, you can see that yourself if you visit the Articles Needing Images category. --DorianGray 23:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Side note to this...is it acceptable to use a signature icon of someone's who hasn't been active on the site in over a year? Son 05:06, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit more specific. — Defender1031*Talk 05:11, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
I saw a user who's been inactive since November 2007 (methinks) with a Steal Your Face. I left a note on the user's talk page, so you can check in my recent contributions to see it. I'd like to use it, if that's considered kosher. Son 05:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Cricket Helmet

Hi, I dunno if you saw it, but I was hoping you could clarify your answer on the image talk page. -132.183.151.94 15:42, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

The recent block warning

I can't tell any change between the post you did and the way MichaelXX2 "fixed" it for you. Can you explain the difference, just for the sake of someone unfamiliar with wiki syntax? -132.183.140.140 23:44, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Sure. when putting "subst:" before a template, it will replace, or SUBSTitute, the template call for the actual code contained therein. For example, if i have a template named "example" that contains "This is a sample template", if i were to write "{{example}}" somewhere, then when i go to edit the page, it'll still say "{{example}}" in that spot on the edit page. If i wrote "{{subst:example}}" instead, it would instead have "This is a sample template" written. Outwardly, the pages would look identical, only in the code does it matter. I hope that answers your question, cause i don't know how to make it any clearer. — Defender1031*Talk 23:51, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
That was clear, thanks a lot. -132.183.140.140 23:55, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
What I don't get is why you reverted it, considering that using "subst" is Wiki policy. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 23:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Feel free to ask me privately. And i don't consider that instruction sheet to be "policy". — Defender1031*Talk 23:56, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, reverting it myself was my mistake. Looking back on it, you're not supposed to edit people's talk page posts unless they're breaking the page, contain foul language, or similar. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 00:18, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank youuu

I saw that crappy and unfunny vandalism that somebody did on a certain page. Thanx for reverting it. THAT was just an eyesore. If somebody's gonna vandalize the least they can do is make irt clever and funny. --Sonicstar Runner 23:49, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

That's my job, defending the wiki, defending the policies of the wiki, defending my friends, defending my family, defending good programming practices... But i guess now i'm just rambling... Sooo.... yeah. Vandals: 0 DeFender: 1031 23:57, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

kinda funny...

Do the proximity of these three edits seem a little ironic to you..? -132.183.151.187

I'm unsure of the connection you're trying to make... and by "unsure" i really mean "no freaking clue". — Defender1031*Talk 01:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Just that you accused the edit summary of "No" of being vague. -128.103.10.17 02:01, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
You are correct of course, i'm guilty of it too. I wasn't complaining about the summary per se, i was just asking for a clarification. Everyone makes vague summaries sometimes... — Defender1031*Talk 02:13, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Different opinion

Yeah, so I thought I made a valuable contribution to the Homestar email toon article, I even went through the legwork of doing the necessary research to make everything authentic. Boy was I cheesed off to see it deleted within seconds! It took me a few days to do the trackdown, and it pointed to you. I was REALLY cheesed off until I went to your home page, and then I saw why you deleted said additions. I thought my contributions were significant. Heck, I never write ANYTHING online without first considering if it will be worthwhile or just internet poop, whether this note be a Facebook note or a blog. But after reading your page on what you think good content is, especially regarding pop culture references, I understood why you removed them. Yes, I will stand by my post. I still think it was important information. But I've had limited exposure to pop culture as a whole, so it's likely that the information I supplied could be found in a hundred places. And you feel that a reference to a concept (a reference that can come from a dozen sources) is unnecessary to mention. I agree. It just hurt to see my first post wiped out in seconds. --Bauerman24 04:18, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure what edit you're referring to, as you seem to have not made any edits with your account before this one, but i assure you that i meant no offense by reverting. For a long time I've said that we need a mechanism to revert edits while still letting people know that their contributions are welcome, but unfortunately such a thing would be tedious and annoying to do, as we often get anonymous users who make one-time edits that aren't worth keeping. But anyway, would you mind clarifying to which edit you are referring? Whatever it is, i'd be glad to discuss it. — Defender1031*Talk 04:39, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

I did the edit before I had a real account, so I just showed up as an IP [I KNEW you were going to look! haha]. The address WAS 97.89.178.220. Probably the last one, but I don't know how to link to the history page or anything. I'm still new to this whole "edit-a-wiki" thing.

Like I said, I read why you remove posts like mine [even though I didn't know I was referring to common phenomena at the time]. I can't stand wasteful or poorly-written posts. I've edited a fair share of run-on sentence posts. So, thank you for keeping your wiki cleaned up and informative. These things can get bloated with junk fast.

Thanks for being understanding about it. I don't expect to see my work back up. In fact, I'd prefer it stay down, in the interest of an accurate, more concise wiki. Again, thanks for understanding and reading my concerns. I only hope that I can contribute some useful information to this wiki in the future. --Bauerman24 04:55, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

strong sad

Make a Strong Sad fanstuffy thing! "Each day we die a little more" is awesome! --Fangoriously 05:15, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

I sorta got to a point in my life where i actually HAVE a life, so i haven't done any of those for a while... I had nearly forgotten about them actually. At one point i was planning on doing some of my favorite extended monologues and quotes with them, but unfortunately, life intruded. — Defender1031*Talk 18:54, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Signature

How did you get your signature to be that cool? --Fangoriously 15:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

He's awesome like that.-Record307 Talk/Contribs 16:35, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Which aspect specifically? — Defender1031*Talk 18:57, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I want the gradient affect like in your siggy. --Fangoriously! Chat 19:47, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I have a script that i wrote that does it. If you tell me the colors you want and what text to use, i can generate a code for you. — Defender1031*Talk 20:21, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I want pink to purple, with the text "Fangoriously!" My talk page link ("Chat") can just be red. --Fangoriously! Chat 00:39, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
You used a script? Dang, I had to go Google and search for all the HTML color codes individually... —Guard Duck talk 00:48, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
For Fangoriously: How's this? Fangoriously! (Chat) Personally i think the pink is too light at the beginning, so here it is again starting with dark pink. Fangoriously! (Chat) Which do you like better?
For Guard Duck: I WROTE a script. Slightly different than merely using one. I am just THAT good. Seriously though, color codes aren't that hard to learn. Also, don't feel so bad. I did all the color calculations BY HAND for the first attempt at my sig, until i realized how helpful a script would be. I should really re-write it though, because though the code works and works perfectly, it's very messy code. Ideally, i should port it to javascript or something to make it available online. — Defender1031*Talk 00:57, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
You WROTE a script, well that's very impressive. Kudos to you for always being one step ahead. (Incredibly weak Homestar pun alert) —Guard Duck talk 01:13, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Behind the black

You say what happens behind the black stays behind the black. In Flash file world, which is where the toons really are, what happens "behind the black" that you see in the Flash file but not on the HTML page is really in the beautiful field of white. --FangoriouslyFotoshopStar.png 00:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say. — Defender1031*Talk 10:56, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm trying to say the toons are really only Flash files, and what you see in the Flash file but not on the HTML page is in the white, not behind the black. --FangoriouslyFotoshopStar.png 13:32, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Cute, but homestar says differently in flashback. But whatever you want to call it, the rule on the wiki is that we don't note "goofs" that are outside the frame and therefore don't appear in the html file, whatever you want to call it. — Defender1031*Talk 14:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Think of this another way. All the articles are written from the perspective of the html file, not the flash file. If something odd occurs "behind the black", it will not be visible when the html file is viewed and is therefore not a goof. Simply put, there's no reason whatsoever for the TBC to animate things that won't be seen in the html file anyway. So to avoid creating extra pointless work for themselves, they take shortcuts, like not bothering to put Strong Mad's mouth or Strong Bad's legs in. They are deliberate ommisions, not goofs, which is why we don't mention them unless they are very unusual. Also, you're not supposed to be watching the flash file anyway. – The Chort 18:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I am still wondering why they put in a RED MARK during Theme Song Video's Flash file at the pool scene. --FangoriouslyFotoshopStar.png 21:46, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Regardless of the reason why there happens to red mark offscreen, it is still nonetheless too mundane to be worth mentioning in the article. – The Chort 18:06, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

No Longer Useful Images

Is it OK if I go through Unused Images and add not useful images to User:DeFender1031/ISC/No Longer Useful for you? I'll even try to update templates used on the images themselves and on the lists linked from User:DeFender1031/ISC. Although I was once told by It's Dot Com that "we don't delete images simply because they're not being used", but this just seems like being lazy to me. I mean, if they're never going used ever again, what's the point in keeping them? – The Chort 13:24, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, that's exactly the point of that page... i was gonna wait till it was fuller before calling too much attention to it. Anyway, the point is to put images that are unused AND in no way homestar-related, not just unused as those could have a concievable use in the future. I wouldn't mind you adding images such as those there, just please keep them in alphabetical order. — Defender1031*Talk 13:32, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
You're marking things as done when they are still missing headers and stuff... The point of this project is to clean up the summaries of image pages, not to get rid of abandoned personal images, that's the side point. Changing personal images to abandoned personal images is not part of this project at all. To clarify, I don't mind pages that have not been cleaned up and given good summaries and headers being put on the no longer useful page, i DO mind pages that have not been cleaned up and given good summaries and headers being marked as done. — Defender1031*Talk 13:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Yikes, I've really screwed up this time. Ok, maybe I should just stick to compiling the list of No Longer Useful Images and leave everything else alone? – The Chort 14:05, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
It's alright, no biggie. If you want to cleanup the pages as you go on, that's fine with me, just make sure you're actually doing it. This was actually helpful, as it showed me that i wasn't descriptive enough when talking about what this project entails. I'm gonna add a checklist to the page that should help. — Defender1031*Talk 14:09, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I've just remembered, this wiki already has a list of abandoned personal images that probably have no use whatsoever to the wiki. This page does pretty much exactly the same thing as No Longer Useful, except it shows you the images themselves and works automatically thanks to the personal-image-abandoned template. Would it be easier just to use that page? – The Chort 14:16, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm aware of that page, however my page is slightly different. While there is much overlap, not all abandoned personal images are no longer useful (some could be screenshots from HR, which we should keep) and not all no longer useful images are abandoned personal images (such as if something similar to Image:bat-climb.jpg were left over somewhere). — Defender1031*Talk 14:19, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

2AnswerYourMAM?

I did it because obviously SB likes to prank call Marzipan so putting in a Subsection would be better so you can actually see when he was Prank Calling and when he was doing something else on the Machine. Meaty85203 02:40, 5 March 2009 (UTC) The Same Person who made the sublist edit ):

Spamer

DeFender, I think we have a spamming user in this wiki, I tried starting a talk page of Sbemailiarized! wondering if it was a promo for 2009's batch of Sbemails and Hremails, but some guy whose user idenity was not shown said that it was a compent about sbemails and that there would be no more hremails, and it got the page deleted. i'm want do good edits stop of undo my edits becouse is so dumb undo my edits Lucsar 20:02, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, the way things work here is community consensus. you can't just make edits that you feel are right and expect them not to be reverted when the community has already decided on something. — Defender1031*Talk 20:05, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Request

Hey Def. Can you make me a sig...i have no idea how to do it, and ive seen some of your work. I really "appreceat" it. Geonightman 15:55, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm afraid that in the vast sea of sig possibilities, there are many sig fishes... you need to be a bit more descriptive as to what kind of sig you want... what colors? fonts? pictures? power doors? rear deck for dinner and dancing? a proboscis? Let me know and i'll see what i can do. — Defender1031*Talk 17:46, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Well im kinda partial to the color green. So anything other than Baby puke. If you have the Doom Font (Which you can get in the fonts menu) thatd be good. And i guess the pixalated Stinkoman from Stinkoman 20X6 would be cool. If your allowed animated stuff for the sig then i guess a running stinko would be kool. Thanks for helpin out. Geonightman 18:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

"'I Say it Looks Bad' Won't Help Resolve This"

The reason I think that is that one can easily argue against it by saying, "I say it looks good" and most of the time I have no idea whose opinion is more valid, especially since neither of us is a sysop. I won't be surprised or ashamed if writing this has no affect on how you argue. I just had to explain this summary in a place where it would fit. BBG 21:14, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Regarding "How talk pages work"

Um, if no one's allowed to remove incorrect information, you should tell that to IDC [1]. -170.223.0.55 22:30, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

That talk page is a special case. Its purpose is not for the discussion of the corresponding project page or of any article, but is a help desk. Anyone replying to a question on that page is in a sense taking it upon themselves to speak for the wiki, and there are ways to do that and ways not to. In the case you cite, the reply was not only patently false but rude to boot. Rather than strike out or simply contradict the incorrect response, it was better just to remove it. — It's dot com 22:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
