[edit] About Me
The name's Ren "Foxx" Ramos. I run a webcomic site that's sprite-based, but it's unrelated to Homestar Runner so I'll leave the details on that out... as well as a direct url to the main page since a comic series or two I host may contain some mild lanuage and mild violence, where as the other comics are pretty much clean with cartoon violence.
Anyway, I've often lurked around this Wiki as an anonymous user, but never as an anonymous contributor. I just felt that I should get myself a user account, so I did. Not sure what I'll do with the account since I usually keep to myself. I may make a post now and then... but it'll be rare.
I'll add more to this later, but to put some life into this since plain text seems to be a bit bland, I added a Userbox on the side, though for personal preferance, I replaced Cheerleader with What's Her Face since I like her more. Don't worry, the original template in the HRWiki:Userbox section remains untouched.
I've also e-mailed Strong Bad a while ago, under the guise of one of my own characters, Plum Locoa, asking about a certain sharp object he keeps around. To those that are curious, like one of my readers had asked about, this was that e-mail and what it was asking about:
subject: big knife
Dear Strong Bad,
Is there a story or legend behind that
big knife of yours?
-Plum Locoa
To be honest, I'm not even sure if Strong Bad would answer that one, but it's worth a shot. The reason why I e-mailed it under the guise of one of my characters rather than myself 'cause on the very same day I had sent the e-mail, I also e-mailed The Brothers Chaps about something that I don't quite remember since it's been a while, but I didn't want to make it look like spam either.
I'm debating wether or not I should re-send it 'cause I'm not sure if he archived it, gave it to Strong Mad, or deleted it.
[edit] Notable Contributions
In my opinion, I think one of the most noteable contributions I've given to this community would be for the explination on the
Karate Car title which I mentioned the following on
Talk:Karate Car:
After looking at the unsigned post at the Talk:the_movies#Karate_Car where it says the following:I would think that, given the computer medium, its appearance and the name, it would more likely be a reference to Karateka, if, in fact, it is a reference at all.
And looking at the end where Mr. Slashy-Man is doing some some martial arts moves with the indication of the kicking and the "Hi-YA!" I do believe an explination is in order, so I shall provide one. In the world of martial arts, a karateka is a expert in Karate as mention here. In Japan, there are three ways of saying "Car" - "yonrinsha" (よんりんしゃ or 四輪車), "kuruma" (くるま or 車), or simply "ka" (カー). So from what I see, I'm not sure what the right word is it but it appears as though the Brothers Chaps seperated "Karate" and "Ka" and turned it into "Karate Car." Not gonna edit the main article yet though cause I'm just going on a hunch as to what that unsigned poster had mentioned. - Ren Foxx 05:25, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I later found out that original poster,
Sabrewing, was refering to a game by
Brøderbund that goes by the same name. I'm still going on a hunch though which is why I haven't edited the main article yet.
