[edit] Expanding it link

Okay, I found the problem we were having with pages being made with a leading colon. The stub link for "expanding it" adds the ":". I tried fooling with it, and it seems to work correctly after I removed the colon between {{NAMESPACE}} and {{PAGENAME}}. But now it won't work correctly if it was on a non-main namespace page. Any ideas? I guess we could make seperate templates for different namespaces if that is needed. (Oh, and here's a link to Wikipedia's code for their stub message.) -- Tom 13:36, 18 Sep 2004 (MST)

Hi Tom, I know this is an old entry, but seeing since I saw no 'resolution message' in the matter, I wanted to know if the issue has been resolved or not. And if not, could you give an example of namespaces where it doesn't work? My assumption is that it works now since I tried looking at its effect on different namespaces (without saving) and saw it work fine. --Stux 16:52, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Stub Image

The new image next to the stub template looks great! «Rob»

[edit] Blue links?

Should we make the "expanding it" link look like an internal link? You know, like this instead of this? Bluebry 21:59, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

If no one opposes, I'm going to do it. Bluebry 04:06, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
How are you going to do that? —BazookaJoe 04:08, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Look at my user page. I do it all the time! Bluebry 14:41, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
or, look at this compared to this.
this this
And if you haven't noticed, the one on the left is fake, yet it looks like the real one. Bluebry 15:21, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

There's a sample. Bluebry 15:24, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Ohhh you want to make it look like a dark blue link... Well, if you're going for authenticity, notice that your google and Homesar links aren't 100% equivalent. The homesar one is slightly darker. As for really needing to do that... I don't know. --Stux 15:49, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
That's because you've been to Homsar. Umm, try these:

Homestar Runner; 147; Strong Bad; modeling; Teenage Variation Do they look different in color? I'm just guessing you've been to one, and not the other Bluebry 16:07, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Heh, I think I've been to all of them. They all look the same color. Oh except Teenage Variation, the one I fixed... I see it now that I hit preview. I dunno, given that there exists this "vlink feature", is it a good idea to go through all this troule? Ok now to make Teenage Variaton dark... After I take a screenshot. --Stux 16:16, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I made the second link look like an internal link. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 21:46, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Body

That is totally freakin' hilarious, man. Perfect! High fives! — It's dot com 06:14, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Strong Body scares me. Do we have to have it as the Stub logo? Ppk01 13:52, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
I do like having an original picture for us, not something copied from Wikipedia. I agree Strong Body is a bit unexpected, but I can't think of anything better. And it is pretty humerous. I don't mind it. Thunderbird 16:33, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Ha. That is funny and disturbing, yet appropiate. XD - Joshua 00:24, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Ugh, I don't like it. Kind of eschewing professionalism, you know what I mean? (Plus, Strong Body freaks me out.) - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r) 22:42, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
We can use the Homestarpedia image. It would look better. NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 12:55, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Although I agree that that logo looks amazing, it is a copyright infringment and can technically not, therefore, be used outside of your Monobook.css. — Lapper (talk) 12:59, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stubs

I think we should make about 9 stub templates for certain articles. I have a bunch of them below.

Main Page STUB'D! This main pages related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

Toon STUB'D! This toon related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

This article is looking for a challenge! Maybe when it's de-stubbed... This game related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

Character STUB'D! This character related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

The current article is: A. Stub. This download related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

STUB'D! This article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

This is a fake one to confuse you! This Suudsu related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

Character STUB'D! This sbemail related article is a stub. You can help the Homestar Runner Wiki by expanding it.

It's nice, but, I think it's too complicated. I know Wikipedia does it, but, that's a whole different wiki. Bluebry 23:06, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't think we have enough stubs to justify splitting them into subcategories. — It's dot com 23:07, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
What if we use the different templates, but still have one category? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
Why go to the trouble of making a distinction if there's no difference? — It's dot com 17:30, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Aesthetics? Fun? Profit? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
There's no reason to make so many templates. It's confusing and pointless. "This suudsu related article is a stub"?!? We don't need a Toon, Game, or Character stub anymore than a Suudsu stub. I don't mind Strong Body as an image, but I would also be open to the suggestion of a more applicable image should someone come up with one. But using an army of templates that serve no real useful purpose in my opinion isn't a good idea. Thunderbird 23:43, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
I think the Suudsu one was just a joke. Has Matt? (talk) 23:49, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Has Matt, roll over the Suudsu image. ;) - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)
Heh! That's a pretty funny one. I bet it'd be seen on userpages the most. ;-> Bluebry 23:53, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah! That suudsu one was definetly a joke! NO!!! PLEASE... DON'T SHOOT!!! Tampo (T/C) AND SOMEONE GET THiS FREAKiN CURSOR AWAY FROM ME!!!!! 00:16, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] H*R-style wording

Hey, I was wondering if we could take the normal stub phrase and turn it into something catchy... like

I dunno. Thoughts? --TheYellowDart(t/c) 05:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Whoa. Almost two months and no replies. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 15:29, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, regarding the example you gave specifically, I know it's referencing strong bad, but it seems like the negative connotation isn't a really good idea. As for rewording it in a HR fashion, more generally, well, I have no strong opinion, really... DAGRON 16:22, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
