CHEERLEADER: Okay, my gallies, listen up! We have to draw names for secret Decemberween gift exchange.

SO AND SO, WHAT'S HER FACE, and THE UGLY ONE: FUNTIME!

CHEERLEADER: Okay, chill. I put each of our names into this lion's mouth. {the screen pulls back to show a lion standing next to Cheerleader} What's Her Face, you choose first.

WHAT'S HER FACE: I'm... hesitant.

CHEERLEADER: Fine then, you won't get any presents.

THE UGLY ONE: {crazed} I WANT PRESENTS! I WANT PRESENTS! CANNONBALL! {she jumps into the lion's mouth}

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: CHOMP!

{cut to a table with three judges. Two of them are the Arrow'd Guy with severe pit stains. The other is Smiley Face Man. They are all holding signs that say 2.}

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: TWO'D!

{cut back to the girls}

CHEERLEADER: Uh, So and So, I'm thinking you're next.

SO AND SO: {thinking} Let's see... Lion's mouth plus Decemberween present divided by peer pressure times height equals... {out loud} TRIPLE SALCHOW! {jumps into the lion's mouth}

{cut to inside the lion. Cheerleader is upside-down.}

CHEERLEADER: Yo, this lion's innards are looking...

CHEERLEADER, SO AND SO, and THE UGLY ONE: SO GOOD!

Fun Facts

Trivia

  • This is the first issue of Teen Girl Squad where no one is killed, although hanging out inside a lion is probably detrimental to one's health in the long run.

Remarks

  • The Ugly One has sharp teeth when she runs past, as in other Teen Girl Squad toons where a character is depicted as being mad with desire or nervousness.
  • An unfinished version of this was shown at an appearance at the University of Central Florida in spring 2004. Not all of the voices were dubbed yet (leading Matt to deliver them live), the line-up was out of order, and the cartoon cut off after both The Ugly One and So and So had been devoured normally. In this version, the lion asked Cheerleader to make out, leading to What's Her Face being weirded out and the cartoon cutting off. So and So was eaten when she approached the lion normally after saying the lion couldn't possibly eat two teenage girls.
  • This toon can be accessed from two different URLs: tgs6.html and dween_tgs.html.
  • In the intro, Cheerleader has nothing written on her shirt. In the toon, her shirt says "purty".
  • This is the first Teen Girl Squad cartoon with no "Again" link at the end.
  • The Arrow'd Guy does appear in this issue twice, but neither of them have their mouths open.
  • The lion has only three legs.
  • A Triple Salchow is actually a figure skating jump, not a dive, as So and So implies.
  • Apparently, the inside of the lion is bigger than the outside.
  • The Ugly One holds the Gazelle carcass with both hands. When all three shout "Gazelle Carcass!" her hands drop to the side and the carcass remains suspended in mid-air.

Goofs

  • The speech balloons in the scene inside the lion cover up the paper's blue lines.
  • Cheerleader's is blank the introduction, yet says "purty" later in the cartoon.

Real-World References

  • The Easter Egg is a reference to the children's game Marco Polo.
  • "3 noses?" may reference an episode of the Magic School Bus, in which the judges award points for the best smell with a score in "noses".
  • Wave 'o Babies may be a reference to the song "Wave Babies" by the band Honeymoon Suite (1985).

DVD Version

  • On Everything Else, Volume 1, the Marco Polo Easter egg is accessible by highlighting the O in "over". On Everything Else, Volume 2, it is accessible via the H*R logo.
