How exactly are they freed?

Mention where Red Angelo comes from

Nobody has put this in yet, but, the Red Angelo and the other kids names commented on come from the urban legend of kids being named Orangejello and Lemonjello.

This is claimed as fact in the book Freakonomics, so I put it in with a reference. I think it's pretty clear as a reference to the event itself, though whether or not they actually got it from Freakonomics is uncertain. This story has been around waaay longer than Freakonomics. I heard it when I was a kid in the 80's. The Freakonomics text is very unlikely to be the source; why would the Chaps brothers mention another very common urban legend (the headlights flashed at a gangster car) at the same time unless they were referring to common urban legends.

New Animations

two notable points. 1) as someone put somewhere in Fun Facts, bubs' arms are animated like coach z's were in Trogday 08. BUT!! they were already animated like this in nightlife and Happy Dethemberween. 2) we've never, NEVER seen strong bad's mouth do what it's doing at the end of the email. somebody should fit these into the remarks --Zatchman 15:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Space station

At first I thought the space station in the space background was a copy of the one from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Then I looked up some images I realized that the original was a double wheel and not really that similar. The only striking feature they share is the "centrifuge wheel" design, which I imagine is not unique. Is there a station somewhere in sci-fi that looks more similar to this one? Something from Star Trek, maybe? (I browsed around Memory Alpha, but nothing jumped out at me. --TheNicestGuy 15:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Flavors

If we don't have a running gag about flavors, we should. (If it already exists, I couldn't find it.) I thought about just "Color Flavors" but we also have water described as Malinko- and Strong Bad-flavored water (in rough copy). We have orange- and black-flavored from Malloween Commercial, Bubs's sno-cone flavors, and the drinks in Lookin at a Thing in a Bag. Any name suggestions? Anyone is welcome to take this ball and run with it; I ain't so gung-ho about creating articles at the moment. OptimisticFool 18:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I dunno, we could have an Unusual Flavors or a Flavor Variations section for things like the flavored water and the orange-and-black marshmallows, respectively, but I don't think normal flavors like grape, cherry, green apple, etc. deserve a mention outside of the articles about the food/drink.-- DongleGoblin 19:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't think so. Those had legs, or whatever you call the part of the glasses that are held up by the ears. They might be a variation though. State-shaped gelatin blob on Strong Bad?

Does anyone else see that Strong Bad has a glob of gelatin on his pants toward the end of the e-mail in the shape of the state of Florida? Or am I crazy? Is this worth a mention?

I don't think it's worth a mention. We eventually decided not to note the smiley face-shaped globs of whatsit adorning the Hornblower in KOT's VOQPCS!. The notability requires intent, you see. It's likely coincidence. --DorianGray 21:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Frog Eggs

"Frog Eggs" refers to the science fiction novel His Master's Voice by Stanisław Lem, in which scientists try to decipher an alien message, but only manage to create a gelatin-like substance they call "Frog Eggs".

That's a ridicolous kind of "proof". There's absolutely no proof that this is what was intended, apart from the name ("frog eggs" is a common phrase!), gelatinuosity (real frog eggs are truly gelatinous, aren't they?), and notice that Strong Bad is saying "How we doing here, frog eggs?" - thus implying he was referring to Homestar and Strong Sad, not the stuff in the pool.

The fact here isn't just about Frog Eggs, it's about the science fiction novel "His Master's Voice" by Stanislaw Lem, which is something that would generally be within Strong Sad's geekines. We're talking about Jell-o here, and unless anyone can come up with another 'frog eggs' linkage, and moreover one that fits the "I don't even" comment, I say the fact stays. — Flashfight 13:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I doubt it's a reference. Your proof about even strong sad not getting it holds no water, as the point of making references is for people to get them and find them funny. If i was making a cartoon and I made a reference to some inside joke i have with my roommate, would that be funny to the rest of the world? no. I think that the connection between the two very plausible, since we are talking about a fairly famous science fiction novel, and there is a linkage between the word SB uses and the substance in that particular novel and in the pool. And I would use a counter example to DeFender's argument; Mystery Science Theater often pulled in the most obscure references. The point was not that everybody got it, but if only a few people did. In this case, "Frog Eggs" on the surface seems like a non-sequitur by Strong Bad, but if you know the novel, then you get the joke. Your Funeral

Homestar and Strong Bad's voices are distorted similarly to how Strong Bad's was after he was preserved in the funeral episode. That it's a reference is strengthened by Homestar's request to be preserved in red Jell-O.

Talk and Mouth Move Goof

When Strong Sad said "any second now." his mouth wouldn't move. This was fixed later the next day.

This is listed as a Fixed Goof, but I never saw this goof to begin with and I was super early in seeing this email. I usually notice something this obvious, and I just didn't see it. Can anyone confirm that this was really a goof? OptimisticFool 15:33, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
