I'm pretty sure that this isn't the first time that the Problem Child 1-8 tape has shown up. Maybe we should make this an Inside Reference, or a running gag? -Zero.exe | I'm pretty sure that this isn't the first time that the Problem Child 1-8 tape has shown up. lens flare
Mention the lens flare when SB is talking in the lacrosse vid?
Grandma say wha?
I think Grandma Aundpaw is saying someing like "I never ??? loved you."
- It's "I never loved any of you" -128.103.10.119 06:30, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
"and take on such a task"
- Just a note that SB misreads it as "to take on such a task". Danny Lilithborne 07:07, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- "To" would be correct grammar in the context, incidentally. --Belthazar 08:04, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
what problem child?
why is "problem child" listed in real-world references? what is the reference? falling down stairs? that doesn't seem like enough... --Neumannz 07:50, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- The videocassette Strong Bad labels over is labelled "Problem Child 1-8". --DorianGray 07:52, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Real world explanations
I put a Video Toaster entry in real world references before noticing it was in explanations already. Then I saw that Applebee's is in real world references. It would seem that if VT is an explanation Applebee's should be also, and if Applebee's is a rwr VT should be as well (though I could see a flip). What's the proper placement in this case?146.122.71.68 11:37, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think they are both where they should be. Applebee's is mentioned in a natural context, referred to as a real place—thus, real-world references. The video toasters shown, on the other hand, are not what actual video toasters really are. Thus the unfamiliar term needs an explanation. --DorianGray 12:26, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
lacrosse point
Is this a parody of "Lagrange Point"? That'sBupkis! 20:37, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- Um, more than likely no. The joke is that Strong Bad doesn't know what scoring in lacrosse is called (I believe they're "goals"). --DorianGray 20:39, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Remarks
Under remarks it says the longest video cassette is 5 hours. This isn't true. Standard VHS tapes were able to record up to 6 hours at EP and some extended length tapes were able to record up to 8 1/2 hours at EP speed.
Oh, that music!
I feel like that music that plays during the wedding video sounds very familiar. Does anyone recognize it?MrL 21:23, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
VHS tape limits
- The longest VHS cassette is eight and a half hours.
I beg to differ. I once bought two 10-hour VHS tapes (lost one, used the other to tape a Ren & Stimpy marathon). I'm hesitant to change it because I want to change it to something a bit less definite, like "8-hours was the most common VHS tape length, although some were as long as 10 hours", and to be honest I have no source to say with absolute certainty that there weren't any tape longer than 10. I believe this warrants further investigation. - 70.75.182.168 05:49, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia to the rescue! That table indicate that the longest form of VHS cassette is 12 hours. It's for the DF480 (T-240 equiv) type on Extended Play/Super Long recording speed. The article doesn't say how common those were, but they exist. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:04, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Meaning that the entire fact is invalid, as he only needed 12 hours. — Defender1031*Talk 06:35, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
