The transcript makes a claim about the text printed on the papers. How do we know what they say?

Interestingly, the text on the papers is the same font that was used on the battle axe lessons flier in other days.

Other Things of Interest

Why are the fun facts formatted as such? This seems inconsistent and out of place.

They are formatted as such because many are not facts but speculation, and those that are actually true are completely boring (such as "The clock on Mrs. Bennedetto is stuck on 9:48."). I would just delete them, but peoples' feelings would be hurt, so I put them into a separate section. Also, the fun facts have never been consistant. --24.21.86.243 19:41, 5 Jan 2005 (MST)

Tooty-two?

Doesn't it seem like a stretch to say Bubs' "two times two" comment is a definite reference to tooty-two? Two times two can be a lot of things (such as four, for instance). --68.12.101.60 05:07, 5 Jan 2005 (MST)

BGM

That music that loops in the background when Strong Bad is in the costume, doesn't it sound a bit like the Strongbadia National Anthem? The Cheat on the keyboard during that song does that loop, too. --Hagurumon

It seems to me like TBC do a lot of music using an old cheap Casio keyboard, which probably only has a few loops in it. They probably aren't too concerned about the originality of the music they compose. --24.21.86.243

I've deducted that it is the same loop, but with a few notes excluded. This loop only has 3 notes, but you can kind of tell that it's the same. BTW, if you can't hear the music, turn up your volume. It's easiest to hear when Strong Bad starts dancing in the costume. --Hagurumon

Rhetorical Question?

One of the points of interest suggests that "What do you mean do I do anything besides checking e-mails" needs a question mark to be grammatically correct. But if the question is rhetorical (which it seems to be) it is perfectly grammatically correct not to use a question mark.

Definition of uniform

Bubs calls Strong Bad's hot dog outfit a uniform, when really it's more of a costume. Uniforms are a similar style of clothing worn by more than one person.

Does this "fact" really add anything? My opinion is that it should be removed, because while being factually correct, it is quite nitpicky, and the fun value is questionable. --racerx_is_alive 10:45, 12 Jan 2005 (MST)

One of what only?

This is one of the only emails were you manually have to make the paper go down at the end of an email

First of all, if you're going to post this as a fun fact, do your homework: this is one of how-many only emails with a manual paper? And second of all, this fact has already been mentioned in the transcript AND in the Easter Eggs. I say delete.

Dilbert tie?

Sorry, but I doubt the tie's a reference to Dilbert. The bent-upwards tie is a very common thing for clowns to wear. It's more likely that Scott Adams was making a reference to clowns' ties than it is that TBCs were making a reference to Dilbert (Although I'm not sure that Adams was making a reference to clowns, himself).

early cut-off sounds

the mention of the sound starting early then getting cut off may have just been from somon with a slower computer. i remember on my older computer, sounds from easter eggs would start to play, like homsar in the suntan email

Question about fun facts

Can we vote on whether or not to ditch the Fun Fact about the "hundredaire socialite" line being the same "tune" as the old Lappy scroll-button rap? It sounds like a meaningless connection to me. - Octan from the forum

Sims Reference

Has anyone considered the "tragic clown dog" costume to be a reference to the Sims computer game? It used to be that in the Sims a sim could purchase a painting titled "The Tragic Clown" and it was a picture of a crying clown. The sim would observe the painting and start crying and every once in awhile a clown would appear when the sim would cry. I can't remember if he either tried to cheer up the sim by doing tricks or if he would just try to kill the sim. Also the balloons next to Strong Bad were a type of Party Balloons that the sims could purchase and they ended up popping after about 15 minutes. Colonel Burnsides 17:07, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Both are simply references to the sad clown theme in art. I suspect it owes a lot to Emmett Kelly, but it's at least as old as Pagliacci. My great-aunt has several paintings of crying clowns in her guest bedroom. They always gave me a vigorous case of the jibblies. —AbdiViklas 23:55, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Broast Button

im pretty sure that there is no 'broast' button on a microwave... ever. you prolly wont even see a 'roast' button, because roasting just cant be done in a microwave. broast is a term applied to chicken in the south, because 'roasted chicken' is copyrighted or trademarked or patented or service marked or trade secreted. (secreeted? secretted? seacreatured?). Also, im prettyr sure you will never see boil onna nuke...

Wireless or what?

Ok, here's the email that, for me, seals the deal on how SB does email. Look back at the Tandy and the Compy - even if there was a fast connection, how would they bring up an email so fast? Well, here he's clearly not even PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING and he can, so it's plain that he downloads the emails well before his "show". So, this fact:

Apparently the Lappy 486 also comes with a wireless Internet access card. Either that or Strong Bad downloaded his emails before heading to Marzipan's.

I wouldn't be willing to decide in favor of one explanation over another, given that technology in the H*R universe is hardly normal (apparently, tin-can-and-string-phones can call answering machines sixtyish years in the future). Conflict: Who's kitchen is this?

The following block was taken from hrwiki article about email #152 “isp” “Remarks... it is unlikely that the computer has a wireless connection (even though he was able to answer e-mails from under Homestar's kitchen table in part-time job)” The next block was taken from hrwiki article about email #121 “part-time job”

{Cut to the lower area of Marzipan's kitchen. Strong Bad has apparently been checking this e-mail under Marzipan's kitchen table. Homestar walks in, and is holding a tennis ball.}

My thoughts:

Case #1: Homestar's Kitchen It can be argued that it is not Marzipan's kitchen because there is no sink or cookie jar on the counter behind the table. All known shots of her kitchen have those items. The table is correct with the counters for the mystery kitchen in the Schenectady Crispies commercial seen in email #83 “labor day” (shown in easter egg). If it were Homestar's kitchen, it would explain a lot about why Strong Bad had to get out without being noticed in “part time job.” It would also explain why in the commercial he said “Hope I don't get caught”.

Case #2: Marzipan's Kitchen It is plausible to say that this is Marzipan's kitchen viewed from the other side of the table, an angle that we never have seen before. If we assert that the mystery kitchens in “labor day” and “part-time job” are the same kitchen, this would indicate that marzipan has identical windows, cupboards, counters, and shelves on both sides of her kitchen (if not for the sink and cookie jar, the room would be symmetrical.) However, this makes us wonder where the microwave (seen in email #93 “army”) is normally kept, since it is not usually next to the cookie jar. Saying it is Marzipan's kitchen also explains why Strong Bad does not want to be caught in it.

Case #3: Strong Bad's Kitchen We rarely see Strong Bad at Homestar's or Marzipan's house. I doubt that he has much motivation to go there. With it being so rare for Strong Bad to show up in their houses, it seems odd that we should catch him in their kitchens so much and never in his own kitchen. On the other hand, Homestar is at Strong Bad's so often he thinks he lives there (see “flashback”), and there are instances where Homestar cooks at Strong Bad's house (see “jibblies 2” and “secret identity”). In fact, there are several instances where Strong Bad himself cooks, indicating that he must use his own kitchen frequently (see “big white face”, “old comics”, “bug in mouth disease”, and “secret recipes”). If it is unlikely for Strong Bad to be in anyone else's kitchen, it would make sense for him to be in his own during these scenes.
