"we had to come up with some pretty creative ways to ite him into stories"

Yes, "write" seems to be a bit cut off. Can I or someone put that as a glitch? --Addict 2006 16:12, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Umm, it's clearly "write". — Defender1031*Talk 16:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I do hear an audio click there in the word "write" like what would come from some not-so-seamless editing. Mayve it originally was "ite", and they fixed it by editing in the "wr".--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 02:47, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
It actually sounds like "get" to me. Jimmy91 18:23, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Something

Is this the first sbemail where you cant email strong bad at the exact end by link? --Orange Star - T - C

No, that was cliffhangers(part 2).-- DongleGoblin 16:57, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
No, it's vacation. Bad Bad Guy 17:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Right my bad. Either way, this isn't the first...Or second.-- DongleGoblin 23:33, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Glitch

I was watching the toon while holding down the tab button to look for easter eggs, so at the end I was holding it down and the paper was just stuck there covering the whole screen of the lappy and the audio for the "downhill" easter egg played. Just thought I'd share rootbeersoup 18:23, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

On the flash file itself,

The second time that Strong Bad and Homestar try to make it look like "Original Bubs" is there (DEESH WARSH), "Concessions by Original Bubs" is written backwards!

Rock 'em Sock 'em Reference?

Wouldn't "Strong Bad's head popping up" be a reference to Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots? Just want to know before I add it on. : 75.33.123.41 21:28, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

No. If it was a Rock 'em Sock 'em reference, they would make it more obvious, and would make the animation look more like a Rock 'em Sock 'em robot. 71.231.56.40 22:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Ya, you have a good point there. 75.33.123.41 22:46, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Kick The Can

Did anyone find the Homestar/Marzipan Easter Egg an obvious reference to Kick The Can and/or The Reddest Radish? Bad Bad Guy 21:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

There have been a few can kicks done in HSR universe before, I don't think it would count. 75.33.123.41
How? Because he kicks a can? That's a stretch. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Because he kicks a can because he missed a loved one. Bad Bad Guy 21:44, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
He also kicks a can in Where My Hat Is At?. Has Matt? (talk) 21:47, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Umm... The only closest reference to that is the toon "In Search of the Yello Dello" other than that I don't remember that happening in the HSRU... Oh, wait. "The Storm of '28," nevermind. 75.33.123.41
Since Oldtimey Homestar did that, it made me think they were about to mention that Homestar had been a replacement himself, for the 'original' old Homestar.

Shadow?

Also, when his head is popped up, his head's shadow does not move on his neck. The URL of the image is "vulomedia.com/images/65110Picture48.png" I don't think my brain is at its best today, would this be a shadow problem? I have some disagreement with that for some reason, no idea why. 75.33.123.41 22:36, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

No "Click here to email strongbad"

Is it important to note that this is the first email to NOT have a "Click here to email strongbad" link? 67.177.36.237 23:17, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

It's not. See the section "Something" further up. Loafing 23:19, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Retirement - "It was me. I like hushpuppies." is not clickable. Original does have a "Click here to e-mail Strong Bad" link. It's just too quick for some people to click.

Letterman

Strong Bad's mention of talk show hosts using guest hosts when they have surgery is a reference to David Letterman.

The above was removed from the article. I'm not going to do an exhaustive search, so I won't bother claiming Letterman is the only host to have undergone surgery, but he's certainly the most popular one in recent memory to do so, and I think it's very likely TBC would have had him (and only him) in mind as they wrote the line. The only person I can think of who has both had guest hosts and is as notable as Dave is Johnny Carson, but this section doesn't make any mention of a surgery. I think the link to Letterman should be restored, at least in some form. — It's dot com 01:00, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Regis too. But can anyone come up with a reference to a talk-show host in prison?--71.203.169.248 05:42, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Or more recently, Roger Ebert. --Trogga 15:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
To note, some anonny added Rush Limbaugh, who (according to anonny) got replacements for both surgery AND legal trouble. --Jay (Talk) 16:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Manilla cheese choke?

In Homestar's Line to Senor Cardgage, I'm pretty sure I hear "manilla cheese choke" instead of "manilla cheese Coke".--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 02:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

James Bond reference?

Does anyone else think the reference to replacing Original Bubs with an unknown that had zero experience (and it going 'downhill' from there) was a reference to the James Bond series? I mean, that's exactly what George Lazenby was - an unknown with zero experience. And the wide opinion is that the series DEFINITELY went downhill from there.

It's a reference to many instances of jumping the shark. Lots of people consider replacing an actor as an instance of when the show begins to decline. --DorianGray 05:16, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
