[edit] What did he say?

In the easter egg when you click "hanging out", it almost sounds like Senor Cardgage says "***hole" when Strong Bad asks him to say something else. -woddfellow2|

What he says there is "Ethel," continuing the trend of treating guys as girls. -Jay

When Senor Cardgage says, "Exobably not," I think he's combining the words "exceptionally" and "probably." —2Fast2Furious 9:32 pm, 6 March 2006

I'm pretty sure Senor Cardgage said "absolbably", combining "absolutely" and "probably".

"Will I ever see you again?" "Absolbably not."

[edit] Senor Comb-over

Isn't the guy in the easter egg Creepy Comb-over Strong Bad? Since the "with a guy like that" after the "hanging out" you have to click refers to creepy C-O SB, not Senor Cardgage. <--SUCKY GRAMMAR!! Kvb 10:36, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

Reviving old topic because Trogga changed it: Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad is a form of Strong Bad. Senor Cardgage is a separate character. The character in the Easter egg, therefore, is Senor Cardgage, since he's standing next to Strong Bad (I think it can be argued that it's Senor Cardgage in the entire email, but he's AT LEAST in the Easter egg.) --Jay (Talk) 01:03, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I just don't want to confuse newbies. --TROGGA! 17:58, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad page now redirects to Senor Cardgage. That probably happened on July 15, 2005. Some changes have been made to this page, too. Previously, the cast list said: Strong Bad, Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad, Homestar Runner, Pom Pom, Bubs, Strong Mad, Strong Sad, Senor Cardgage (Easter egg). Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad was changed to Senor Cardgage, and "Senor Cardgage (Easter egg)" got removed. The transcript still uses CREEPY COMB-OVER STRONG BAD, but the Easter egg transcript uses SENOR CARDGAGE. Should I change them BOTH to SENOR CARDGAGE since it was probably decided that they are one and the same person? Gm1121983 8:23 pm 4 Jan 2006

This has always been a shady issue, but I reverted that change based on this reason: that the transcript may be written in such a way that character is described as presented in the email only. Sure, we know it's Senor Cardgage now, but back then, that email was showing us as Creepy-Combover SB. —BazookaJoe

I'll have to open this old topic again... I agree with KvB and Jay that Creepy Comb-over Strong Bad and Senor Cardgage are separate characters. But I also have to disagree with Jay about who is in the easter egg. Here, KvB is right: the clickable text in the email refers to Comb-over SB, not Senor Cardgage. Strong Bad is meeting himself, something that's not too uncommon in the Homestar universe. Senor Cardgage does not appear in this email, he's only talked about. Loafing 09:08, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I thought Senor and CCOSB were separate characters before. —Ced 01:52, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
So who appears in the Easter egg at the end of flashback? Creepy Comb-Over SB or S. Cardgage? A few places [1] state that Senor Cardgage's official first appearance is in Senor Mortgage. —Ced 11:59, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Way back when, we kind of dealt with this issue by using these two descriptions. CCOSB (here in kind of cool) was the guy in Strong Bad's imagination that was a combination of Senor Cardgage and himself. The real Senor Cardgage wasn't seen until later. For even more historical fun, check out the pre-flashback release discussion of the whole CCOSB/Senor Cardgage thing at Senor Cardgage/Comments. -- Tom 13:08, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Tom has a point. --Uncle Bill 17:26, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

He means Senor Cardgage was originally Creepy comb-over Strong Bad. He started out as an alter ego, and then he became his own separate character. --Shake 18:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] beer belly

Well, yes, he does say "beer" for the first time in an email, but he's not even referring to beer, so the bit about the Cold Ones is almost a stretch. To be fair, they're talking about potbellies, which TBC could have just as easily decided to say. I think they've been pretty good so far about not putting in alcohol or drug references. Either make a mention of the non-reference to beer or take it out altogether...

Just a thought. --blackbelt 21:48, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree. I took it out. Let's see what the rest of the world thinks. -- tomstiff 21:58, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree with taking out that fact. It's not a direct reference to beer, and even if it were, it's not the first, and even if it were, you could just as easily litter the wiki with useless fun facts like "garage sale" is the first mention on the site of garage sales"... Aurora the Homestar Coder

[edit] Homestar's Singing

When Homestar sings his various phrases, it is the same melody as the chorus of "The Cheat Is Not Dead".

  • Vera Weak Accept. It seemed to me a 2 out of the 3 phrases were sung that way. -- tomstiff 20:12, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • "I Cut The Fact Off The STUFF Page in the Morning Light! DELETED! zno sir, I don't like it one bit. Cheatachu72 17:14, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • -compares- "You smell like pea soooooup!" "The Cheat is not deeeead!" There's a little bit of a similarity, but not much...Weak Accept. Kiwi 19:56, 9 Jun 2005
  • Weak Decline Yes, it's similar, but it's not the same... it's just coincidence, I think. You could just as well say that it's the same melody as the Lappy's startup noise... --phlip TC 01:06, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Decline. We would need to hear more lines from the song to make a strong connection. H*R also seems to enjoy making up random songs, i.e. bread sing-alongs in origins. -Svelt
  • Decline --Ju Ju Master 13th June, 2005
  • Decline -- Granted, the first time Homestar sings "you smell like pea soooup, the pitches (notes) are similar -- but not identical -- to "The Cheat is not dead." But he sings it again later in the email, and it's even less similar. I'm with the 'coincidence' theory. (For those who really care and know solfeggio: the musical pitches for "the Cheat is not dead" are Do-Do-Re-Mi-So. Homestar's first "you smell like pea soup" is more like Do-Do-Do-Mi-So. The second time is less distinct but even more of a departure. olda guy 14:07, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC))

[edit] Jor-El

Strong Bad's pronunciation "Jor-Dan" likely refers to Jor-El, the biological father of Superman.

[edit] That "kind of cool" song

I never heard that song, EVER!!! It's not in the transcript or the easter egg transcript! How did they know that song existed? -Kinsey

[edit] Strongad Smashes the enter key really loudly

After Strong Sad leaves, he's like *THWACK!!!!*. Just wondering if anyone noticed this as a form of neuroticism. Nicko9y 00:27, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

I think "neuroticism" in this sentence means "a mental or personality disturbance not attributable to any neurological or organic dysfunction." Strong Sad is obviously disturbed when Strong Bad describes his tall, alternate, dumpy self, who turns out to be Senor Cardgage, the guy who used to give Strong Sad nightmares. So yes, I'd say it is a form of neuroticism. —2Fast2Furious

Wait. Strong Sad is the one who is disturbed, right? So why would Strong Bad hitting a key loudly be neuroticism? It's just that he's frustrated with the Graw Sad and takes it out on the key. And it's whatever button he uses to clear the screen, not necessarily the enter key. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:35, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I get it. So, Strong Bad hitting the enter key loudly is a form of frustration. Strong Sad getting creeped out by Senor Cardgage is neuroticism, right? —2Fast2Furious

Might not be neurotic, might be realistic! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:53, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I guess I described it wrong.. but Qertmaq is right. That made me lol alot for some reason. Nicko9y 06:47, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Strong Bad smashes the enter key loudly because he's grouchy like Jon Hill. Brian Barbera 00:33, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Senor, not Señor

In the section that mentions the Señor Cardgage Easter egg, is it okay if I change it to Senor, since that's his official name? —2Fast2Furious 19:23 29 April 2006

  • I'm trying to find out. Can someone please tell me? —2Fast2Furious
Yes, I would say you should change it. Heimstern Läufer 23:37, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Would you like to phrase your answer in the form of a question.

Well, I guess questions should end in question marks... But go back and listen to it real quick. Anony kinda has a point. Opinions? —00:07, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
