What did he say?

In the easter egg when you click "hanging out", it almost sounds like Senor Cardgage says "***hole" when Strong Bad asks him to say something else. -woddfellow2|✎

What he says there is "Ethel," continuing the trend of treating guys as girls. -Jay

I'm pretty sure Senor Cardgage said "absolbably", combining "absolutely" and "probably".

Senor Comb-over

Isn't the guy in the easter egg Creepy Comb-over Strong Bad? Since the "with a guy like that" after the "hanging out" you have to click refers to creepy C-O SB, not Senor Cardgage. <--SUCKY GRAMMAR!! Kvb 10:36, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

Reviving old topic because Trogga changed it: Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad is a form of Strong Bad. Senor Cardgage is a separate character. The character in the Easter egg, therefore, is Senor Cardgage, since he's standing next to Strong Bad (I think it can be argued that it's Senor Cardgage in the entire email, but he's AT LEAST in the Easter egg.) --Jay (Talk) 01:03, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad page now redirects to Senor Cardgage. That probably happened on July 15, 2005. Some changes have been made to this page, too. Previously, the cast list said: Strong Bad, Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad, Homestar Runner, Pom Pom, Bubs, Strong Mad, Strong Sad, Senor Cardgage (Easter egg). Creepy Comb-Over Strong Bad was changed to Senor Cardgage, and "Senor Cardgage (Easter egg)" got removed. The transcript still uses CREEPY COMB-OVER STRONG BAD, but the Easter egg transcript uses SENOR CARDGAGE. Should I change them BOTH to SENOR CARDGAGE since it was probably decided that they are one and the same person? Gm1121983 8:23 pm 4 Jan 2006

This has always been a shady issue, but I reverted that change based on this reason: that the transcript may be written in such a way that character is described as presented in the email only. Sure, we know it's Senor Cardgage now, but back then, that email was showing us as Creepy-Combover SB. —BazookaJoe

I'll have to open this old topic again... I agree with KvB and Jay that Creepy Comb-over Strong Bad and Senor Cardgage are separate characters. But I also have to disagree with Jay about who is in the easter egg. Here, KvB is right: the clickable text in the email refers to Comb-over SB, not Senor Cardgage. Strong Bad is meeting himself, something that's not too uncommon in the Homestar universe. Senor Cardgage does not appear in this email, he's only talked about. Loafing 09:08, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Way back when, we kind of dealt with this issue by using these two descriptions. CCOSB (here in kind of cool) was the guy in Strong Bad's imagination that was a combination of Senor Cardgage and himself. The real Senor Cardgage wasn't seen until later. beer belly

Well, yes, he does say "beer" for the first time in an email, but he's not even referring to beer, so the bit about the Cold Ones is almost a stretch. To be fair, they're talking about potbellies, which TBC could have just as easily decided to say. I think they've been pretty good so far about not putting in alcohol or drug references. Either make a mention of the non-reference to beer or take it out altogether...

I agree with taking out that fact. It's not a direct reference to beer, and even if it were, it's not the first, and even if it were, you could just as easily litter the wiki with useless fun facts like "garage sale" is the first mention on the site of garage sales"... Aurora the Homestar Coder

When Homestar sings his various phrases, it is the same melody as the chorus of "The Cheat Is Not Dead".

But he sings it again later in the email, and it's even less similar. I'm with the 'coincidence' theory. (For those who really care and know solfeggio: the musical pitches for "the Cheat is not dead" are Do-Do-Re-Mi-So. Homestar's first "you smell like pea soup" is more like Do-Do-Do-Mi-So. Strongad Smashes the enter key really loudly

I think "neuroticism" in this sentence means "a mental or personality disturbance not attributable to any neurological or organic dysfunction." Strong Sad is obviously disturbed when Strong Bad describes his tall, alternate, dumpy self, who turns out to be Senor Cardgage, the guy who used to give Strong Sad nightmares. So yes, I'd say it is a form of neuroticism. —2Fast2Furious

Wait. Strong Sad is the one who is disturbed, right? So why would Strong Bad hitting a key loudly be neuroticism? It's just that he's frustrated with the Graw Sad and takes it out on the key.
