Awesome Sauce (Declined)

Is "Awesome Sauce" a reference to "Awexome Cross"?

  • Decline. I see no connection whatsoever. →evin29015:53, 28 Jan 2005 (MST)

  • At first, that's what i thought they said. Accept, even tough it's not going to do anyhting.
    • Especially if you don't sign your vote. ;) --Upsilon
  • Awesome sause is clearly a reference to awesome cross. For anyone to deny the connection of a rhyme is ridiculous. - badamn_187
    • Decline, and ban badamn_187 from posting. Are you serious, or just plain stupid? DELETED!-- ISlayedTheKerrek 08:58, 24 Feb 2005 (MST)
  • acually they are bolth are rencecsa real cleener as staeted in the dvd comintary for this e-mail
    • Um, what?-- Drake
      • I think he/she means that the DVD commentary mentions that 409 and Awesome are both cleaners.--Wilbur
  • Accept. OK, with all the declines I'm sure this vote isn't going to make a difference, but I'm going to have to go against the grain on this one. To say you see "no connection whatsoever" is a bit silly; the phrases are obviously very similar in sound--the only phonetic difference is the "cr" being changed to an "s" sound. (And arguably the "x" to an "s", though it's debatable whether the X really affects the pronunciation of "Awexome".) The similarity could be coincidental, of course, but it could also be intentional--especially since the reference to a cleaner as a "sauce" is unusual enough to suggest there could be a reason for that specific word choice. (And I don't see the fact that there exists a real cleaner called "Awesome" as evidence against the matter at all; unless the cleaner's called "Awesome Sauce" there's still the possibility that the "sauce" was added as a reference to

"Awexome Cross ".) I'm not saying I'm convinced it necessarily is a reference; I'm just not quite as eager to dismiss the possibility out of hand as are the initial replies. Still, as I said, with all the "Declines" this vote is unlikely to make a difference, so oh well... -Alun Clewe 04:23, 21 Feb 2005 (MST)

    • The problem with that fun fact isn't that they don't sound similar (because they do.) The problem is that it's very UNLIKELY that the words "Awesome Sauce" were chosen SPECIFICALLY to refer to awexome cross. →evin290 09:09, 24 Feb 2005 (MST)
      • See, I disagree that it's unlikely; as I said, "sauce" is an odd word to use to refer to a cleanser, and it seems likely there's some reason that specific word was chosen. I'm not convinced it was chosen to refer to Awexome Cross, but I don't think it's all that unlikely. But, again, it seems mine is the only (signed) Accept among a large number of Declines, so my vote's probably not going to make a difference here anyway... -Alun Clewe 01:30, 26 Feb 2005 (MST)
  • Decline.Although they rhyme, I'm 99.9% sure that this was not meant to be a reference. I think the word "sauce" was probably used because the first 4 letters of awesome rhyme with it.--Wilbur

But can you prove it? You just need to show a screenshot of the email from your inbox with the right date. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:27, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

You're lucky! I wish my emails would get answered.User:Hrwiki 29 Oct 2005

First Eat?

Is this really the first time Strong Bad eats? He eats a cupcake if you win that Revenge of the King game, but he.... kinda just.... rubs it all over his face, rather than actually eating it. SaltyTalk! 07:04, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Another Goof

I noticed while watching the Easter Egg you get when you click Strong Mad's face while he's spinning around, when it's finished, Strong Mad bounces left instead of right, so he would be going back to his computer room, not toward Strong Sad.

Eric55673 16:19, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

ummm....due to the nature of this email, i don't think goofs are ever worth talking about. 15:06, 27 June 2007 (UTC)user:haldo

hallucino-DOES STRONG SAD DO LSD?

unless I'm horribly mistaken, quite a few years ago (and maybe even today) people with chronic depression would take hallucinogens, wich to non-depressed people are drugs. could "did you take my pills again?" be a reference to such? (being that strong sad was unaware of strong bad's "funny"ness, and thought he was high.)Sompm 03:13, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Stong Bad

I think Strong Bad typing "Stong Bad" might be actually be a reference to a goof from another email (I forget which one) where it originally said "Stong Bad" but was fixed later. Unbalanced 05:45, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Leaning Toward the Screen

Originally, there was a trivia for magic trick that said that it was the first time that Strong Bad leaned toward his monitor. This e-mail has him leaning toward it and comes before magic trick, so I moved the trivia to this page. Then it was removed because it "seemed unnotable". It obviously was note worthy when it was on magic trick, so I don't see why it "seemed unnotable" now. I figured I would ask people's opinion before putting it back up. Lastly, unnotable isn't a word! -Philip8o

It wasn't notable on magic trick either in my opinion. It's very similar to saying something like "this is the first time bubs moves his left arm" it's just a movement. Lastly, you all know what i meant when i said "unnotable" so meh. — Defender1031*Talk 16:59, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
If I were choosing a prefix for the opposite of notable, I think I'd also go with un-. Nonnotable doesn't have much of a ring to it. That aside, if I had noticed that fact on magic trick I would have removed it myself. First, Strong Bad moves his head in only very slightly. Second, so what? — It's dot com 17:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Falling Ketchup

Under Goofs, it says that the ketchup bottle falls from nowhere right side up, but "somehow" turns upside down when Strong Bad catches it. If you watch, he catches the bottle with his thumb toward the camera, and pours it on the compy with his thumb away from the camera. Nothing Mysterious. 24.88.230.135 05:14, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Typing mistake

while responding to the email, Strong Bad says "I could tape this blank floppy disk to my head..." but types "I could tape this floppy disk to my head..." I've seen such errors noted elsewhere on teh wiki, so I thought I'd bring it up here. 24.88.230.135 05:14, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

This one's actually noted in the transcript, but I wouldn't mind it moving to some other section. --DorianGray 05:16, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
