It seems like a standard email check to me. Other than the grandiose entry, Strong Bad has a specific task to check his email. The fact that he gets sidetracked is pretty irrelevant. I'd compare it to huttah, where the focus is far more about The Cheat than Strong Bad himself. Not an identical comparison, of course, since he does answer things. -- Organous 20:04, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

::Well, think of it this way: instead of Strong Bad taking it in a different direction, TBC took this email in a different direction by not having him answer it. All to say that I kind of doubt this anything but email 200; the fact that he never answered the email in the usual sense is likely meaningless. Strong Sad's Easter egg and the fact that you have the big list at the end of the email are pretty strong evidence. 12:20, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

::::That proves nothing. It's not like they can't change the email menu later once they think that we think it IS an email. the retirements were originally separate emails, why not the email 200s?... Look at the facts. There was no email checked, they had TWO teasers for this email, and then it ended up being a bit... bleh. Like, they were making this big deal out of it, and then it sort of... fizzled. And Heimstern, your claim that the evidence of the easter egg and the big list are really null, given that they could do those to make people think it really is. Besides, the egg might be taken as further evidence that they're messing with us. 17:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

:In our role as stewards and documenterarians, it is not our place to interpret, it's our place to document what is. In this case, what is is that they called this sbemail 200 and it is. No further discussion is really needed. 14:13, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

::Anyways, Strong Bad does check an email in this sbemail. Sure, it wasn't written to him, but it was obviously written to his email address. Heck, that's probably one of the reasons TBC chose this email to feature.
+
::As for Loafing and Qermaq: We can't report what we don't know for sure. I wouldn't say this is officially an email until sbemail201 comes out (or it is otherwise referenced on the site as an email). Just because it has sbemail in the url doesn't make it one. I always found it a bother that anything, and I mean ANYTHING repeated on homestarrunner.com three times deserves an article. Never if only twice, and even if it's the most insignificant piece of information we could supply. They only give one or two sentences about it and the other 95% of the page is a sea of links telling where the information can be found. I think the topics should be significant enough they actually needs a page, wouldn't you agree? I hate to sound so judgemental but this is a problem.

They Might Be giants had a t-shirt around the Mink Car era that listed all of their song titles with the band name in the middle (that, just out of coincidence, I happen to be wearing right now), in a style that is nearly identical to the last frame of this email. Given that TMBG preform in this email, it seems likely that it's intentional.

In the transcript (as well as the subtitle articles), Strong Sad "rolls" the "r" when saying "hremails." But it sounded like he's making a long, hard "h" sound when he says it. It may be months before we either get A) another sbemail OR B) Official Confirmation that this is the end of sbemail. And knowing TBC, we may never get either of these. I keep trying to add a fact that states basically that this is either the longest delay between sbemails ever or that this is the last sbemail. One of these two facts is true and it has already reached noteworthy status. We will either get an email in which case this will be the longest delay on record, or we won't get an email in which case this is the end. But if the latter is the case, what sign are we looking for? When can we expect that sign? And how many more times is my edit going to be undone?

This is, in fact, the last sbemail. It is confirmed in the DVD commentary. There will be no more sbemails.

What evidence is there that tail worn by Homestar when dressed up as Coach Z is a "Tigger" tail, rather than just a tiger tail? Tigger's tail looks pretty much just like a normal tiger tail, except that as I remember the Disney toons, Tigger's tail is characteristically flat on the end. The one in this toon is rounded. According to the DVD Commentary transcript, they refer to it as a tiger tail, and don't say anything about Tigger. I don't have the DVD, so I'm assuming the transcript here is accurate. If TBC did indeed say "Tigger" on the commentary, well that's indisputable. If they didn't, calling that tail a Tigger tail is total conjecture. 98.222.134.36 01:22, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Is it just me, or is Strong Bad's head bigger than usual in this one? I checked the size and his head is the same size as Homestar is from his cap (excluding buzzer) to the start of his shirt. Now, if I remember correctly, his head's usually been half (or more) that size. This could be added to Glitches or Fun Facts, though I needed to check if it's true before it's added.

The song by TMBG was included in their Halloween Podcast of that year, which also had Crystal Fortress. This is not mentioned in Fast Forward at all.

Is it possible Homestar was talking about internal power connectors? Four-pin is the traditional connector used by disk drives (before SATA came along), and eight-pin is mainly used to provide supplimentary power to video cards. It's the only place I can think of where "four-pin" and "eight-pin" are real things. Octan 21:17, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

:: I... huh. I actually hear "you" from a semi-close listen. But I also agree that it makes no contextual sense. -- 07:30, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
+
:: PS. But it's very likely that the rising music is making the (semi)consonant less distinct, so I'm not going to fight for "you" and I'm going to say right here that it's very likely that it is, in fact, "who". Just that I can see where Ni and Reactive are coming from. -- 07:32, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
+
:::Foolishly, I assumed no argument would arise, I thought the change to "you" was going to be unchallenged after the first few edits. Here are my arguments:
+
:::#I listened to it on the site, on the DVD, and on YouTube, and I heard "you". Though I agree with Jay that the music might be getting in the way, tricking the listener's ears, I can't help but hear a strong "y".
+
:::#Homestar's tone in the sentence didn't seem 100% inquisitive to me. I've heard him use that tone in things like DVD commentaries for humor.
+
:::#Contextually, "And you can forget the time ..." can make sense, considering how long pants was an unpleasant email for Strong Bad. Maybe Homestar thought his actions were embarrassing as well.
+
::: 13:47, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
+
::::It still makes no sense contextually, as the tone of voice matches the sentence being "who", not "you". Additionally, what sense does "And you can forget this instance, which is why I'm bringing it up as a point of fact!" make in any context? The context is thus: here is a flashback I am presenting, who could forget that this happened?
+
::::And no, for once, I will not take "It's Homestar, where does 'sense' enter into it?" as an excuse. =3 He's not being silly here, so it doesn't work. From a previous edit summary, "hide and seek" and "white clowns" do make sense contextually, on the grounds of "Homestar is dumb, and repeating back something that he misheard" (or, metatextually, "for humour").
+
::::Anyway, those are my points. Assess them as you will. --DorianGray 14:00, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
+
:::::The tone isn't right for an embarrassing time, as DG said. I agree that one could clearly hear a "Y" sound. I also hear how the intention was CLEARLY "who" and any misspoken consonant is merely a mistake. That said, I think that, much as I'd like it to be just "who", the logical thing to do is put a visible sic there like in imaginary by "Strong Bad and Scotty Titi". 14:02, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
+
::::::Before I saw this discussion, I had only seen the back-and-forth edits to the article. I listened to the toon, expecting the word to be muddy or ambiguous, but to my surprise it's very clearly... "you". No question in my mind. As far as the structure of the sentence, I'll agree that it makes less sense, but I won't go so far as to say it makes no sense. Regardless, the article needs to show what he says, which is "you". — It's dot com 15:06, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Poopsmith Lyrics?

The unintelligible part of the transcript as of 7:35 AM is "The thought of all those emails (makes me weaaaak)."
I think its "Weep" because it's a verb and strong bad interruption "PUKE" would make better sense. (I don't know how to "weak") Javaguy78 14:46, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
If you listen to the mp3 at the end, you can tell that it is "weak". And "weak" is not a verb, its an adjective. You don't "weak" you "be weak" -Jdhannan
Wow, the battle of dumb-butts. Clearly "I don't know how to 'weak'" was his way of saying that he knows it's not a verb and hence doesn't think it fits in that context (which albeit an adjective also does). 75.157.4.36 17:43, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Thank you 75.157.4.36... I guess sarcasm doesn't work too well online... Anywho, listened to the mp3 and it could go either "Weep" or "Weak", so I guess it's up to you to decide. Maybe TMBG are the only ones who know for sure Javaguy78 18:55, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Taking horse tranquilizers makes me weak. I thought it was weak too, and I think it makes sense - Wecannotbesaved 19:37, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Listen to the mp3 easter egg, guys. It as a a very clearly pronounced WEAK. —Supuhstar* Image:Supuhstar(SupuhSmall).gif 19:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

So... we know that it is in fact "weak" now, right guys? Because it makes sense with the whole line about how all those emails are "exhausting just to think about", and exhausting and weak are kind of related. Acam30 12:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
I thought it was "weep". StarFox 19:01, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
listen to the mp3, there can be no question. — Defender1031*Talk 19:10, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I know that this discussion is over a month old, but I was on vacation when it started and I felt I should add input: TP says that it's "exhausting just to think about", and then says that the thought even almost makes him weak. You don't typically weep because you're exhausted. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 19:57, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
That was my reasoning too. ...it has been changed to "weak" now right? Acam30 23:14, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
With the exception of a couple spans of a few seconds, it's always been "weak". — Defender1031*Talk 23:21, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I instantly though of weep the first time I heard it. But weak really does make more sense. Origonalname (Talk | contribs) 13:52, 28 May 2009 (UTC) (left unsigned)

They might be giants?

At least one youtuber ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lwFy6MYP3Q ) thinks that the poopsmith's song was by they might be giants, can someone confirm/deny this? --The accountless avenger

I'm pretty sure we can take the Brothers Chaps' word as truth when they say it's performed by They Might Be Giants. This band has done more than one song for homestarrunner.com. --DENNIS 20:10, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
It probably wasn't one of the Brothers Chap, as the Poopsmith's voice was heard in different town and senior prom, and both times, he had a significantly lower voice. That Game Dude 386 21:35, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry; I wasn't thinking. John Linnell was the voice of The Poopsmith, as stated in the article. --DENNIS T/C 21:57, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Also, the musical performance is not very TBC, it's not like Linnell dubbed over TBC's tracks. This is also not stylistically like TBC, it's fairly safe to assume TMBG wrote and recorded this for them. TBC may have written the lyrics, however, we have no way to tell right now. Michelle?

I noticed that the referance explaination about the Poopsmith's Easter Egg has been changed from "My Michelle" (Guns'n Roses) to "Michelle" (The Beatles) and back. I don't know the first one, but the Beatles's Michelle song has completely different lyrics and I'm sure if the Easter Egg were to be a referance to that one, they would have included French, since that's the most recognizable part of the song. --Cass from Germany 06:37, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

I initially added the fact as being for Guns N' Roses because it was the first thing Google returned, and the first link there seems to confirm it. But I've not actually heard either song, so I can't say myself which is right. --DorianGray 06:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
The lyrics to the song "My Michelle" [1] make it clear. While I first thought of the song by the Beatles, the lyrics "well, well, well" are just not in the song "Michelle" by the Beatles. To be clear: the references is to the Guns N' Roses song "My Michelle". Without a doubt. OptimisticFool 06:51, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Fun do part?

Don't you think that's what SB says?

I'm pretty sure he says fondu. --DENNIS 18:28, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, there is no difference in pronounciation between fondue and fun do, the later seems to make s little more sense, given the way SB looks at Coach Z... I mean Homestar.

So... "Gone" and "Gun" are the same word? — Defender1031*Talk 18:50, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
The thing on Coach Z's head is a fondu pot. --DENNIS 18:52, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Fondue makes sense because Coach Z has a fondue pot on his head. That's what they are talking about - Wecannotbesaved 20:30, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok, one last try - Coach Z is of course saying "fundue pot" (or trying to), but SB seems to be repeating what he heard "fun do part?!" than what Coach Z meant. Listen to it once again.

I don't hear it. Does anyone else hear it? --DENNIS 16:45, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Really an email?

Tenchally strong bad never checked a email in the apprtl 200 sbemail so those it count are the tbc just fooling us your thouts

Hmm, this actually might be a good point... we're treating this like it was the email... i wouldn't put it past TBC to come out with something REALLY huge next week and put it at sbemail2hundred or something like that, granted, this email DID feel a bit... sub-par for a milestone. I guess the question becomes what we do with this page if and when that happens... — Defender1031*Talk 18:13, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Strong Sad clearly defines this as the two hundredth email in his easter egg. Though it makes me sceptical that there wasn't any widescreen like the hundredth email. --DENNIS 18:31, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
I realized this earlier, and came to the conclusion that, under Remarks, it should be mentioned as the first sbemail in which no character answers an email.—Supuhstar* Image:Supuhstar(SupuhSmall).gif 18:50, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Aside from the fact that SB never actually reads an email? Or answers it in any way? Not even takes it in a different direction? Seems like a lack-of-email to me... — Defender1031*Talk 20:14, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, think of it this way: instead of Strong Bad taking it in a different direction, TBC took this email in a different direction by not having him answer it. All to say that I kind of doubt this anything but email 200; the fact that he never answered the email in the usual sense is likely meaningless. Strong Sad's Easter egg and the fact that you have the big list at the end of the email are pretty strong evidence. Heimstern Läufer 12:20, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I think that since it is linked to in the Sbemail page, then it most certainly is an email. WildFang 17:15, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
That proves nothing. — Defender1031*Talk 17:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

serioly think about it TBC next week have strong bad answer email 01 then the new paer tell him to wake up to do 200. genuis

I have no idea what you just said. In English please. --DENNIS 23:08, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Let's see if I can interpret. I'm well-versed in YouTube. I think he's saying that the next toon would be cool if it were of SB checking the first email, then New Paper comes down, telling him to wake up. He does, then actually checks email 200. SuperfieldCreditUnion
I'd like to think that TBC would do something like that next week, because I was really dissapointed with this email. If that does happen, Maybe this page could be changed to Strong Bad Email 200 (Fake) or something. (P.S.: Come on Superfield Credit Union, try to be nicer.) Acam30 12:15, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the translation, SuperfiedCreditUnion. I wouldn't put it past TBC to do something like that. --DENNIS 16:48, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Could this possibly be a proof of that? Very un-suspicious. — Defender1031*Talk 17:04, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

I imagine that is simply just a goof, like how they haven't fixed the Toons remote improperly linking to Answering Machine 14 rather than 15. WildFang 17:18, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
perhaps... perhaps not. — Defender1031*Talk 17:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

I have no idea how this long thread of pure speculation came to be. It's officially a sbemail, and if you want to speculate whether TBC will change their mind, then please do this on the forum. Thank you very much. Loafing 17:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

In our role as stewards and documenterarians, it is not our place to interpret, it's our place to document what is. In this case, what is is that they called this sbemail 200 and it is. No further discussion is really needed. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 14:13, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Anyways, Strong Bad does check an email in this sbemail. Sure, it wasn't written to him, but it was obviously written to his email address. Heck, that's probably one of the reasons TBC chose this email to feature.
As for Loafing and Qermaq: We can't report what we don't know for sure. I wouldn't say this is officially an email until sbemail201 comes out (or it is otherwise referenced on the site as an email). True, but Not the 100th Email wasn't in the list at the end of this email, and it didn't appear on the list of Emails on the Compy, and it wasn't listed as "sbemail 100!" on the main page. This got (the equivalent of) all of those. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 22:44, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

DJ Mankiewicz

hremail 24

I was wondering if hremail 24 was a reference to sbemail 22. In sbemail 22 it said in the end, "BANNED IN THE UK" and in hremail 24 it just said "BANNED FOR CONTENT." This might be a reference because 22 and 24 are obviously close numbers. I'm just saying. Don't call me stupid please.--ONESTOP 20:03, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Singer?

Is there any reason why the transcript of this email says singer instead of poopsmith when the poopsmith is singing? --Nogain 20:48, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

It was written as a spoiler warning, and also fits the toon, as you don't see it's the Poopsmith until almost all the way through the song. --DorianGray 20:49, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

It's on iTunes?

The latest TMBG email says the following: "We are proud to announce that TMBG has contributed to the latest Strong Bad email at Homestar Runner. That's Strong Bad email #200, available for free on their amazing site www.homestarrunner.com or at iTunes." I cannot find the email anywhere on iTunes. I guess they messed up and meant to say that you could watch Strong Bad Email on iTunes. Of course, that's not true anymore either, but maybe they never found that out. It's a little weird to think that we only have to wait 3 more weeks for the Podcast version to come, since it took us 10 months to get the Podcast of rough copy, which was also released as a Podcast this year. S.S Pills?

It seems to me that Strong Sad's 'Pills' are becoming a recurring theme/inside joke, as Homestar said 'I accidentally took some of Strong Sad's Pills" while referring to long pants. In funny SS asked SB if he took his "pills' again. I think they deserve a page on the wiki. -Mooman72v2

TMBG t-shirt

They Might Be giants had a t-shirt around the Mink Car era that listed all of their song titles with the band name in the middle (that, just out of coincidence, I happen to be wearing right now), in a style that is nearly identical to the last frame of this email. Given that TMBG preform in this email, it seems likely that it's intentional.

I wander if TBC intended Strong Bad to ignore the "Dear Homestar" part and fanisise about the email, but then he suddenly realises that the email is NOT for him, but cut it due to the length of the email. The Oh... Steven part would've been a reference to Eh! Steve! and to the fact that SB has never been seen Making Out with a girl. That would explain it better than DorianGray's blunt reply (no offence). That Game Dude 386 23:28, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Everybody Knows It

This line is said by Homestar in the toon, the fact he says it with a strong emphasis and the fact it's a milestone makes me pretty much certain it's supposed to be an inside reference to the Puppet Jam of the same name.

Or, he could just be saying a common phrase. Also,he puts emphasis on the words so he can get the point across that Everybody knows DJ-manke-whatever@homestarrunner.com is his email. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 12:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Glitch from long pants

A comparison between the glitched scene in email thunder (left) and the same one from long pants (right). Yellow circles indicate differences, red indicate glitches present in both.

As you can see here, the glitch was actually present in long pants and is just more visible here, due to the desk being a different shape, the colors being slightly brighter, and the carpet being higher. I'll leave this open to discussion for a bit before giving my opinion. — Defender1031*Talk 22:25, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay, well, that failed. My opinion is that the glitch be reworded, and perhaps an enty should be added to the trivia section comparing the flashback scenes with their actual appearances. (And incidentally, this glitch is not actually mentioned on long pants. — Defender1031*Talk 22:06, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Mike or Matt?

The Easter egg transcript says that Mike's voice interrupts Limozeen, but it doesn't sound a lot like Mike to me. It has that, well, bass quality, for lack of a better term, that Matt's voice has. Heimstern Läufer 03:24, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Bad Graphics

Just a thought... TBC said in the store that the bad graphics ghost made an appearance... are they referring to the end? or was he in the email its self?

As near as I can tell, the Bad Graphics Ghost only appears in the ending "hover over for character debut" egg. --DorianGray 20:40, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

The Paper is Back? The New Paper Dead?

You know at the end how The Paper comes back but a hole burns in the page? Isn't it technically still alive? After all only the paper burns, not the printer itself. Also, did The Paper actually, should we say, "kill" The New Paper when he beat it up? Which one will appear in the next sbemail? And if The Paper DID finish The New Paper off, will he come back in a later sbemail as did the Tandy and the Compy? Toon in next week for sbemail 201??

At this point, we don't know. Remember, it's technically only speculation that there will even be a sbemail 201. This kind of speculation is better discussed at the forum... which is, unfortunately, closed at present. So, I'd say bring this up there when it reopens. Heimstern Läufer 10:26, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

No-No more sbemails? WAAAH! --Homestar tiger(HRFWiki)

Is the reign of...

In the transcript (as well as the subtitle articles), Strong Sad "rolls" the "r" when saying "hremails." But it sounded like he's making a long, hard "h" sound when he says it. I know Matt can roll Rs easily as Strong Bad, Homestar, Larry Palaroncini, and even The Announcer (there might be other instances I skipped, though), but I've never heard him do it as Strong Sad. --Charlie Jr. 16:48, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Never mind. Strong Sad can do it flawlessly with an Irish accent in the fourth SBCG4AP episode, but I still think he pronounced hremails the same way some people would pronounce Hanukkah (or something). --Charlie Jr. 22:17, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
I hear a hard H sound as well. And being someone who can actually pronounce "Hanukkah", I have experience with such matters. (P.S. I can't wait for Hanukkah.) — Defender1031*Talk 22:24, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, thanks to the high quality sound on P*R and DVD, we can tell Strong Bad says Hhhhh-what-mail in the same fashion. Now can we pleeeeeease replace the '(rolls the R)' with something else?

Questionable Deletion

*As of November 23, 2008, it would've been 2 months, or 63 days since a new email was answered. This is the second longest interval between emails, with brianrietta still the longest at 71 days. I'm kinda uneasy about deleting this one, since brianrietta was an early Tandy era email, before TBC really started updating sbemails alot, so a huge delay in the Lappy era is quite notable, and email thunder's delay is only a week shorter than brianrietta's... is there a better way to word this and make it trivia? That Game Dude 386 16:59, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Alternately, just wait another few days, and this one will then be the longest. Patience is a virtue. Provided they don't make another sbemail next Monday, that is. =) --Belthazar 21:57, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

"Strong Bad, how do you keep getting in here?"

There is sort of a reversal of rolls here. Usually Homestar gets into Strong Bad's house and Strong Bad asks how Homestar got in because HE is checking HIS email.

Yep, that's the joke. See also Breaking and entering. --DorianGray 04:47, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

print_of_it-not-exe?

After nearly three months, I've been curious about something. Strong Bad doesn't use the print command like he did in autobiography. Do you suppose the Lappy 486 and New Paper are incapable of doing this the same way the Compy 386 and The Paper did? We oughta add this in the remarks section. That'd be worthy of an inconsistency, wouldn't it? --Charlie Jr. 23:04, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok im sorry i just kind of freaked when i saw that but I might have to face the truth of no more SBemails. --Shaokahn280z 16:17, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay Fine! When will "it" happen?

MATT: A millstone, Mike, a Millstone coffee. This email is like a cup of Millstone coffee.

MIKE: So, we still really haven't decided if there'll be more sbemails or not.

MATT: Oh, I've decided.

MIKE: Yeah?

MATT: Yeah, there won't be.

MIKE: {laughs} There won't be?

MATT: Yeah, that's— we're done.

MIKE: Okay.

And

MATT: It's too bad this is the last email we're ever making.

MIKE: Yeah.

MATT: For sure, I decided right now, for certain, never again.

MIKE: Really?

MATT: {overlapping} Sorry.

MIKE: I bet by the time this DVD's out we will have made one already.

MATT: No.

MIKE: {laughs} Alright.

MATT: I'm holdin' out.

MIKE: Okay.

MATT: I have a sore throat and dia— diarrhea.

MIKE: {laughs} I'm sure everyone needed to know that.

As we've said several times, this is speculation. We have no way to know if TBC were serious in that commentary and there is no other way for us to know until they make a more official pronouncement or release a new sbemail. Heimstern Läufer 02:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
There are no fewer than five topics about this same subject on this talk page *alone*. Seriously, I think by this point, TBC *knew* panic and wild speculation would begin at this seemingly "final" SBEMail -- just as it has many, many times before -- and *intentionally* kept the status vague, just to let us stew. But one speculation is just as good as the next, and that's all *this* is, too. Heck, for all we know, there could be a new SBEMail *tomorrow*. It *does* mark the first Monday of 2009, after all, and what better time to break the silence? -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:50, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I would just like to point out that people went through this exact same "crisis" between flashback (which I needn't remind anyone is the 100th email), and car, which came out almost a month after flashback did. True, that gap is considerably smaller than the one we're going through now, but the TBC definitely have a record for doing stuff like this. Just wait it out. —Guard Duck talk 04:55, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

I agree. it seems irrelevant. (also, just as a side note, there was anything which came before senior prom.) — Defender1031*Talk 18:55, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Not Strong Bad? (different)

I'm sure that this is the first sbemail where Strong Bad doesn't sing the intro song. Shouldn't that be on the page?--T3H_CH3K7_888 18:40, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

anything. — Defender1031*Talk 20:14, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
But nobody sings in that email. What I meant was, the first email where someone else sings the song.--T3H_CH3K7_888 20:41, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
mile. – The Chort 17:33, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
IMO that's still Strong Bad, albeit PBTC.--Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 18:51, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Tigger?

Except most tigers are yellow and black, not bright orange... — Defender1031*Talk 01:39, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, Shere Khan and Hobbes are bright orange. BBG 01:43, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
(And Tony.) Defender is right about real tigers (whose tails tend to be nearly white no matter how deep orange the tiger is), but when it comes to cartoon tigers, I think straight-up orange is much more common. And H*R is a cartoon. And I think it's important to stress that the tail in question lacks the characteristic flattened end of Tigger's tail. 98.222.134.36 01:56, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Wow, i never realized how many bright orange cartoon tigers there are... now that i think about it, Exxon also had a tiger who looks like tony's cousin... yeah, i'm gonna have to go with definite could be any number of things. — Defender1031*Talk 01:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

A Question

Doesn't Homestar clearly tell Strong Bad about his e-mail show in Hremail 7? I know that Hremail 7 was made after this toon, but it was supposed to be, you know, like a parody of early toons made back in 2001 and all.

NavBar

Can someone change to navbar so that instead of some kinda robot it links to Hremail 3184? OpenSourceGreg 08:59, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Whoa, Big head!

Thanks,

-Bubz

I'm just throwing a brick at the cellist, is all...

The song by TMBG was included in their Halloween Podcast of that year, which also had Crystal Fortress. This is not mentioned in Fast Forward at all.

Four-pin? Eight-pin?

Is it possible Homestar was talking about internal power connectors? Four-pin is the [traditional connector] used by disk drives (before SATA came along), and eight-pin is mainly used to provide supplimentary power to video cards. It's the only place I can think of where "four-pin" and "eight-pin" are real things. Octan 21:17, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe, but he could also just be being homestar. — Defender1031*Talk 21:21, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
RJ14 phone cords are 4-pin and ethernet cables (RJ45) are 8-pin. Those are real things, and more likely to be thought of along with USB and firewire. OptimisticFool 09:45, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Thinking it over, that probably should be in the fun facts somehow, instead of the garglemesh (or is it jargle?) that's there now. Meh. OptimisticFool 18:27, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

You vs. Who

I do hear You as well, so yeah, don't... don't touch that. ColdReactive 06:35, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

It's definitely "who". "You" doesn't even make any contextual sense. --DorianGray 06:37, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I... huh. I actually hear "you" from a semi-close listen. But I also agree that it makes no contextual sense. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 07:30, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
PS. But it's very likely that the rising music is making the (semi)consonant less distinct, so I'm not going to fight for "you" and I'm going to say right here that it's very likely that it is, in fact, "who". Just that I can see where Ni and Reactive are coming from. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 07:32, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Foolishly, I assumed no argument would arise, I thought the change to "you" was going to be unchallenged after the first few edits. Here are my arguments:
 1. I listened to it on the site, on the DVD, and on YouTube, and I heard "you". Though I agree with Jay that the music might be getting in the way, tricking the listener's ears, I can't help but hear a strong "y".
 2. Homestar's tone in the sentence didn't seem 100% inquisitive to me. I've heard him use that tone in things like DVD commentaries for humor.
 3. Contextually, "And you can forget the time ..." can make sense, considering how long pants was an unpleasant email for Strong Bad. Maybe Homestar thought his actions were embarrassing as well.
Soiled Bargains (talk|ctrb) 13:47, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
It still makes no sense contextually, as the tone of voice matches the sentence being "who", not "you". Additionally, what sense does "And you can forget this instance, which is why I'm bringing it up as a point of fact!" make in any context? The context is thus: here is a flashback I am presenting, who could forget that this happened?
And no, for once, I will not take "It's Homestar, where does 'sense' enter into it?" as an excuse. =3 He's not being silly here, so it doesn't work. From a previous edit summary, "hide and seek" and "white clowns" do make sense contextually, on the grounds of "Homestar is dumb, and repeating back something that he misheard" (or, metatextually, "for humour").
Anyway, those are my points. Assess them as you will. --DorianGray 14:00, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
The tone isn't right for an embarrassing time, as DG said. — Defender1031*Talk 14:02, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Before I saw this discussion, I had only seen the back-and-forth edits to the article.
