The Deciders?

I heard "the signers" — Defender1031*Talk 15:02, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

You are right. --Sysrq868 15:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Soolnds

"Dr. Soft-Soolnd's Tan Medical Shoes" is a reference to Strong Sad's Soolnds. This should be mentioned under "Inside Jokes". --Anon — 72.1.206.12 (Talk | contribs) 15:24, 3 December 2007 (UTC) (left unsigned)

I added a link in the transcript. I think this should be enough... Trey56 15:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I dunno, I never actually read the transcripts... I recognized the reference, but not everyone will. Dalkaen 01:40, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Seconded. I rarely read the transcripts, unless I'm not sure what a certain line is. I skip straight to the Fun Facts, so it would nice to have it mentioned down there. Aaronstj 19:04, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Simpsons??

The remark regarding the Simpsons episode seems like a stretch at best. I figured I'd open that for discussion before charging in there and deleting it. Gerta 15:46, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Coach Z easter egg

What does this have anything to do with the email? Is there a connection that i'm missing? — Defender1031*Talk 16:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Good question. I also feel that, although the cheating line is obvious, the reason why The Cheat is holding the Lappy is going over my head. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 17:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh, wait, I get part of the Coach Z scene. The KoT book is supposedly written by "Ronmartin Realdude", the same person Coach Z is allegedly talking to. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 17:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay, but why would coach z be talking to a fake author about a fake relationship on a fake cell phone? — Defender1031*Talk 19:13, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I think the reason the Cheat is holding the Lappy is because we're assuming he helped Strong Bad with all the internet site stuff for the fake book, since SB isn't exactly advanced to internet level. -Cyndentia
We're heading into forum speculation but here's what I think: The Cheat's walking off with the Lappy because he's going to design, program and create the book website for Strong Bad's diorama project. As we all know, Strong Bad's lazy and always gets his lackey to do all his work. It would explain why The Cheat makes "agreeing The Cheat noises" when Strong Bad says "It's gotten so hard to cheat these days!" because he's got to make the website. And The Cheat is the one most skilled with technology. Then again, why would he use the Lappy instead of the Tangerine Dreams or Monosodium Dreams? Hmmm. Oh, and Coach Z's irrelevant scene is just there to make you laugh. – The Chort 19:35, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it was in reference to the SedBed's comments that "Cheating is getting harder." I'm pretty sure Teh C is simply absconding with the Lappy, and showing the ease of actual cheating. Flashfight 21:13, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
At this point this topic is getting into the realm of speculation, and i would really suggest that we stop now and move it to the forum. — Defender1031*Talk 21:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I assumed The Cheat was haulin' the laptop simply because it's a visual representation of "It's gotten so hard to cheat", as similarly it's gotten hard to be a The Cheat. ☮y P … "Biscuitheads!" … 17:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

KoT skin color

was this the first time we could see the King's skin? if so, can someone put this in the article? -Raltaran

Not a Cat

When Strong Bad is talking about the website that Molly would have to make for a fake book, the author blurb mentions that he is "NOT a cat!!" This is the classic line of Evil the Cat from Earthworm Jim, when he's in disguise. Should this be a reference?--Gaeamil 19:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. --72.226.234.136 23:25, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Intro

  • Strong Bad's tone of voice at the beginning of the email could be a reference to the video game Portal, in which the antagonist GLaDOS often mentions cake.

This fact was quickly removed, but it raises a good question (one that i didn't know how to raise in a non-forummy way until now) and that is, what the heck is with the intro? IS it a reference to something? — Defender1031*Talk 22:19, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh, so a little computer that is near death and lonely gets made fun of and makes people GLaD and makes them laugh just for eating cake? that is not right. and yes i have the game. and beaten the game. and played the commentary, for the game.GLaDoS's helper User:Imdaman

Image

I think we should have the image be of another diorama example, like James Buchanan must die.-Me

99.99.99

Ya know, this is probably far fetched, but $99.99.99 was the most well-known phrase of Mike the TV from the TV Show ReBoot. (The price of the 'Bucket o' Nothing' he was always advertising.) 68.228.89.148 22:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

King of Town's Adventures

I know that "The King of Town's Adventures in Giant Cockroachland" is a reference to "The Cheat's Cheatventures in Moses Maloneland", but I haven't a clue of how to phrase it. Anybody got any ideas? -Itama 23:43, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't really think it *is* a reference, actually... "X's Adventures in X" is a common theme among childrens' books. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 00:35, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
most notably Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland.

Byoo-cannon

  • "Byoo-cannon" is also the name of a president. James Buchannon

This fact was recently removed, but i didn't realize this till i read it. — Defender1031*Talk 00:02, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Then re-add it. It doesn't sound that good as written, though. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 00:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia reference

The "check your sources" statement could be referencing teachers disallowing Wikipedia as a source. Awexome 01:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I don't see the logic leading to that conclusion. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 01:34, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Strong Bad Smiling

Strong Bad smiles when discussing the dinosaur attacking the treaty signers, can someone make this edit, as all my edits seem to get immediately deleted.

I think he smiles in like, every other cartoon, now. I don't think it's worth mentioning anymore.-Lappy z

We actually had a discussion on whether or not that gag is worth recording at all, but it's too hard for some people here to decide if it is truly impossible for "happy" to be an opposite of "evil". Bad Bad Guy 02:21, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Robots

A cardboard robot is shown twice, this should be mentioned as an inside reference.

Something has to be shown three times or more to be an inside reference, and it doesn't even count if it only appears in one toon a few times. He can't say job. Don't say jorb 101 Seriously, he can't say job!
I think he's talking about cardboard and robots... — Defender1031*Talk 03:37, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

One off

When Strong Bad is talking about assasinations, his examples are one president before actual assasinated or attempted assasinated presidents. For example, Jimmy Carter was president before Reagan, who was shot, but didn't die. And James Buchanan was right before Lincoln, who was shot in Ford's theatre.-Lappy z (not logged in)

Eating Non-Food Items

Should the fact that the king of town eats a non-food item (The cotton balls) be mentioned on this page? It is allready mentioned on Eating Non-Food Items 24.64.223.204

Mollybdenum is a name parody of the element Molybdenum and I am right

Mollybdenum is a name parody of the element Molybdenum and you are late. (Some kind of scientist 14:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC))
Am I the only one that thought of 'moldy-bread-enum' when strong bad said 'mollybdenum'? Yadaman 22:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

This Might Be a Shout-Out

Why the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo? My theory: because it featured James K. Polk, who was the subject of a TMBG song. Of course it's a huge stretch, so I'll just put it here and let you guys laugh.

0.999... = 1

The '249.999999' made me think of a certain concept in math, this being that '0.999...' equals 1. Anyone think this is a reference, or am I just putting too much thought into this? I mean, if they rounded the price up to the nearest cent (which is done in cent fractions when they occur in tax, so it presumably would be done here), it'd be $250, so .999999 = 1. I think this deserves at least an 'explanation,' but wanted to ask first and am too lazy really to set up a STUFF at the moment. Yadaman 22:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Coach Z's Crush on Marzipan

comming back?

Is the pink skin of the king of town has anything to with the old idea that he was marzipan's father?

Probably not. It's speculation. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 23:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
And since when is looking like each other a sign of being related in H*R cartoons anyway? --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 23:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Don't forget how there's no where indicating any relation between homestar and homsar... — Defender1031*Talk 00:03, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Actual Publishing Company logo

Is the logo for the "Actual Publishing Company" a parody/reference to some other logo? At first, it reminded me of the Associated Press' logo, but upon looking at the real logo, I'm not so sure. The "P" in the logo reminds me of another logo, for some publishing company, IIRC, but which one?
