Currently, the page says "This is the only email in which Strong Bad is not seen." This is only accurate for sbemails, though, since the debut of Hremail 62. I suggest changing email to sbemail in this line. However, the subject could be expanded upon a little, a-like so:

*This is the only sbemail in which Strong Bad is not seen. He also would not appear in Hremail 62, but appeared in the subsequent Hremails before coming out of "e-tirement".

Tune

When Homestar sings his never-ending soda song at the end, it sounds a bit like the tune from "Eleanor Rigby", another Beatles song. --> This is not Eleanor Rigby, it is the theme from "The Never Ending Story." -Fuzzy

Forward Reference

Shouldnt there be a fast forward to E-mail 88, couch patch, where Homestar asks the Cheat if he, the cheat, ever poured mountaindew all over the computer.

Sure, why not? — It's dot com 02:17, 22 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Dan VS. Jerome (Declined)

The e-mail is from Dan, although Homestar refers to him as Jerome.

  • Delete. Already mentioned in the transcript. -- Kamek
  • Accept. Maybe this is because he was called "Strong Bad." -- ED!smilde 16:38, 9 Dec 2004
  • Very Much Accept It is NOT in the transcript. All that is in the transcript is a literal transcription of what Homestar says. If you're not paying attention and forgot who sent the e-mail - which I did my first time through the e-mail - it's very easy to miss. This being in the transcript would go something like: Homestar: Except you, Jerome {even though the e-mail's writer was Dan}. --Jay 14:50, 9 Dec 2004 (MST)
    • The fun facts section is not there to explain obvious jokes. The transcript notes that Homestar calls him Jerome, and also contains the email text which is signed "Dan". Therefore, it's noted in the transcript. We might as well put on monster truck, "Strong Bad calls the emailers Dan and Linda even though their names are Stan and Loretta." Or, on date, "Strong Bad calls the emailer Boston even though this was the location of the emailer, and not the name." Not worthwhile. --Upsilon
      • What "obvious"? Like I said, it was easy to miss. I missed it myself until I'd seen the e-mail a few times; what's to say other people didn't? --Jay 09:26, 11 Dec 2004 (MST)
      • I caught this the first time, but there is NO comparison to previous e-mails. In "date," the joke is obvious because Boston is the name of a big city. And in Monster Truck, it's obvious because "Dan and Linda" is said almost immediately after "Stan and Loretta," and Strong Bad uses clear enunciation each time. In this case, Homestar quickly reads Dan's name, and then goes on an extended aside with the FL joke before saying "Jerome." Hence not obvious to all. --Svelt
        • No comparison? How about old comics, where he says Jack instead of Zack? In any case, it's not that long after Homestar reads the name that he says Jerome. It's a joke, and jokes don't belong in fun facts (otherwise the page would become very, very long). --Upsilon
          • Old comics is a better comparison, but SB speaks slowly & clearly, making it more obvious. --Svelt
            • I don't think so. In fact, since "Zack" and "Jack" are much more similar than "Dan" and "Jerome", the old comics incident is actually less obvious. So, while I still maintain that both deliberately noting it in the transcript and putting it in Fun Facts is awkward and not needed, if we do, then we should at least do the same on old comics. --Upsilon
    • Second. I didn't notice that the first time I saw it. --Chiphead
  • My bad, it wasn't in the transcript after all. I'm an idiot. I change my vote to Accept and will probably move the fun fact back to the page unless there's a better "Decline" argument. Kamek 09:04, 15 Dec 2004 (MST)
  • Move to Transcript ala Jay's example above. People will probably catch this after watching it a few times. Things that need clarification but aren't sly allusions should go in the transcript. This is definitely the most subtle name-switch in all the SB emails, hence it's not necessary to note every time it's happened elsewhere. --Svelt
  • This appears to be accepted, but someone has already added it in a different form. --MadEwokHerd 15:08, 2 Jan 2005 (MST)
  • Delete Too obvious for words →evin290 20:10, 17 Jan 2005 (MST)
  • Delete The e-mail is actually from "Dan", and Strong Bad refers to him as "Jerome"
  • Delete I can't believe you actually thought that was notable. -Walking Armless
  • Comment and general retraction of votes Okay, first of all, I still don't think it was that obvious. However, now that emailer nicknames are listed on the "sbemail by name" page (or maybe they always were and I never noticed) it seems a lot less useful, and I officially move to Neutral. Don't expect me to be so generous on the other facts! --Jay 00:02, 20 Feb 2005 (MST)
  • Decline or rewrite When I first saw this, I not only noticed that Homestar called Dan "Jerome" but I also saw it as an OBVIOUS reference to the way Strong Bad changes e-mailers names around - since Homestar was trying to fill in for Strong Bad and copy him (i.e. trying to figure out what an abbreviation in the signature stands for), I saw this as Homestar attempting to answer e-mails like Strong Bad and deliberately changing the e-mailers name around. If anything, this particular fun fact ought to reflect the reference to Strong Bad doing the same with other e-mailers. --TheEggman 09:06, 20 Feb 2005 (MST)
    • Also, at the risk of advocating some forward referencing, I think it's notable that in the very next e-mail the process, Strong Bad makes fun of Em's name in almost the exact same way that Homestar makes fun of FL. --TheEggman
  • SEVERE DECLINE; DELETE! You hit land, Cpt. Obvious!
  • Decline Maybe he was talking to someone else in his imaginary class --GregHosting 22:57, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Soda stops making noise?

A few seconds after Homestar sings the neverending soda song, the Mountain Dew stops making the pouring sound. Zachio Image:Zachio-Cowd.png, 13:35, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Re:Half and half

I added a section under real world references to show what a half and half ACTUALLY is. It links to the wikipedia article on it.
Hey there; I'm the one who deleted the fact you posted. That's interesting that half and half can refer to those other things (I didn't know that). I'm pretty confident that, in this case, Homestar is referring to the dairy product. Trey56 03:08, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Do you know that for sure, though? And what about people who don't know about the dairy meaning of half and half? I didn't know of any other use for it other than the half-rice half-chips thing (And I frequently use leftover half n half with curry frum a drunken night out as a breakfast...)
Nope. That's just my opinion. If you feel strongly about it, you should register for a username and STUFF it — I've been known to be wrong on not-rare-enough occasions :) Trey56 10:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Well it appears to have been stuff'd and declined before, so I guess I'll leave it. Also..that stuff thing is confusing me >_<Ftr
STUFF is pretty awkward to use. That's likely a good thing. Anyway, re: "half-and-half", the understanding of the coffee creamer meaning is pretty much de rigueur across North America. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 16:18, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

H*R* Email Pilot Episode

Hey man, I wanted to know that THIS sbemail could be a pilot episode to Homestar Email. Let me know who's responsible for that email, then I'll check in. -Viklas P.S.: Check out the email show on [1] Fanstuff.

Sb_enail.com?

HR types SB_enail.com when checking the mail. Do you think that it was unintentional, or do you think TBC did it on purpose? Personally, I think it is intentional. Just like "Baleted!" --The Goblin!! 02:55, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

It's most definitely intentional. --DorianGray 02:56, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Strong Bad's Day Off

This is the first email in which Strong Bad is not seen.

I don't like the way this fact is worded. "First" implies there are more sbemails without SB, which has yet to be the case. --Trogga 23:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

I think it's fine, but if you can come up with a better one that will still be true if there's another email like this then go for it. — Defender1031*Talk 23:52, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Why can't we just reword the fact when another email like this is released? --Trogga 17:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, we can. I don't see what's wrong with it. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 17:45, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I think saying it's the only email thus far without Strong Bad is fine. Heimstern Läufer 17:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I disagree. If we have facts like this, we can forget about them or have to run around like mad later. I don't remember where, but i am positive that one of our standards pages on fun facts says that we should never use "currently" facts. — Defender1031*Talk 17:11, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
DeFender1031, why did revert the fact when no one here agrees with you? --Trogga 17:25, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
I also think that it should be "the only email" instead of "the first". "The first" implies that there are others or that there are likely to be others, neither of which is the case. Remembering should not be a problem. If another email came out without Strong Bad in it, it would be such an unusual occurrence that I'm sure someone would remember "anything." Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 17:49, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
I've often thought that one-of-a-kind happenings should be called "only", not "first". As far as forgetting about them, we could always hide a unique word like <!--factwithonly--> next to the fact that we can periodically search for and make sure they're all up-to-date. — It's dot com 17:37, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
I'll admit, I've been questioning the value of all of the "the first" facts for things that would never happen again, years after "the first", rather than "the only". And dot com's idea would settle the matter for anyone concerned that it really could happen again. I approve. Best prize. Ding! --Jay (Talk) 19:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Shouldn't the Compy have sparked?

In Email Thunder, the Happy 8600 sparked and probably broke, but the Compy didn't in this email...would that be added anywhere in the article? Is it important enough actually? I think it's weird... --Pretztailfan95 20:47, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

This is taking nitpicking a little far. It's just a cartoon and you probably shouldn't worry about it. — Defender1031*Talk 02:53, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
The Happy 8600 was a laptop. The keyboard is part of the computer itself. The Compy 386's keyboard, on the other hand, is external so only the keyboard was broken. -Pgj1997

Permanent Damage?

I would of thought pouring Mountain Dew all over The Compy's keyboard would have done some permanent damage..but in "the process", the keyboard (and Compy itself) are both working fine! Shouldn't this be added to goofs or fast forward?

Sgt./Dr. Pepper

Anyone else think that the reason The Cheat came in with the Sgt. Pepper costume was because he and Homestar were originally going to pour Dr. Pepper soda on the compy? When Homestar decided to change it to Mountain Dew he just kicked the Cheat out of the scene n00less cluebie--69.253.95.36 13:36, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like excess speculation. Besides, as the DVD commentary says:
MIKE: Why was he dressed up like somebody from Sergeant Pepper's?
STRONG BAD: Cause we were gonna do our Beatles cover band for that Wednesday email, and then it got shanghaied.
