Revamped For the '90s

Is it worth mentioning that a 90s-revamp of "Teen Girl Squad" was also proposed in "Pay Plus"? BBG 04:17, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I mentioned it. TheLupineOne 14:16, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

And I reworded it. They aren't the same types of revamps, but the exact quote was still used. BBG 15:11, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Not revamped for the '90s

I don't hear "revamped" or anything even remotely like it. I hear a definite long A/short E sound, which fits with "Is there", as I originally transcribed it, and I don't hear the "Re" one used claimed they were sure of. --Jay (Talk) 04:27, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I also hear "is there" unfortunately, as revamped sort of fits better. — Defender1031*Talk 04:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I never said it didn't fit better. Just that I don't hear it. --Jay (Talk) 04:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Transcript

Loud music + quiet singer = WIKI EDIT WAR HORROR SHOW.

I propose we do some discussion here of particulars, before we take our edits to the page. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Revamped/Is there

I hear "revamped". It seems to me that there is a distinct "p" sound in there. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

As stated above, I don't hear anything that sounds even remotely similar to "revamped". I hear "Is there". --Jay (Talk) 04:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I disagree; I think I here a long E/short A sound, the reverse of what Jay says. That would fit "revamped". --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Not only does the vowel as I hear it not agree with you, but I also hear a clear "Z" sound before it, and an "R" sound after, as in "Is there". (The "TH" sound being slurred in is normal for English.) --Jay (Talk) 04:40, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I hear "revamped". Or at least, I hear that a lot more than I do "is there", for largely the same reasons as SMB. Heimstern Läufer 04:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I hear something in between the V and the Z sounds, X maybe? jk but i'm not sure whether i hear a Z or a V there. i'm leaning towards the Z. as for the vowels, long E as in "Cheat" first and then A as in "Bad", "Mad", or "Sad". if i try to hear "is there", it sounds wrong. i hear the "Re" at the beginning of the word that i mentioned earlier. no idea what comes after that. so putting all this together, let's see...re-zamped? that doesn't mean anything though. i don't think anything fits. that probably means i'm wrong. though if it is a V, revamped works just fine. The Knights Who Say Ni 04:53, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
After listening to it again about 5 times, i too heard "Revamped" Spongeboy541 04:59, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm listening and listening and listening. On two computers with different speakers. With my nice high-quality headphones. It simply does not sound like "revamped". It has none of the correct sounds. It's two syllables, and that's all the similarity I hear. "Is there", "is there", "is there". It's all I hear! --Jay (Talk) 07:26, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
To me, it sounds like PREPARE for the nineties. Which is what I thought it was the first time I heard it this morning. To me, it's definitely not "revamped", and "is there" really makes no freakin' sense! kyojikasshu 01:12, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
I have to agree with Kyojikasshu. There is a loud and clear syllable which I can hear and can clarify it sounds like "air". Which leads me to assume the word is Prepare. --Record307 Talk/Contribs 01:20, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
"Prepare" is definitely closer to what I hear, but this is why "is there" is what occurred to me: "Everybody is there for the nineties". Notice that I never put a punctuation mark on the last "Everybody" (and whoever changed it to "revamped" did not think to put it on.) I still hear "is there", but I'd be far more willing to compromise with "prepare". --Jay (Talk) 01:44, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
And now that it's been pointed out to me, I can force myself to hear "prepare". I simply cannot force myself to hear "revamped". So, yeah, I'm not complaining if that's where the consensus goes. --Jay (Talk) 01:49, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Edgy and angry ???

I hear "edgy and angry ? deadly and dangly," but that's a wild stab. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Upon listening again, I agree with this (er, "jangly", which is what was added to the page; I didn't notice you said "dangly"). --Jay (Talk) 04:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

? new demographics

I hear "with new demographics," but that sort of "oomph" the singer put in there kind of makes almost any word seem reasonable. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Remember, demographics are the WATCHERS, not the CONTENT... I think "There's" is the best option, but not sure. --Jay (Talk) 04:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

With and without "www"

Is it worth mentioning that for a while www.homestarrunner.com showed this whereas homestarrunner.com was still the Index Page?

It's possible that you were looking at a cached version of the sans-www page for a while. It's unlikely that the two pages would differ. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
No. Cause it shows it with and with www on my end. Spongeboy541 04:50, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, *now* it does. That's why I said "for a while".

Visuals

Are the visuals gonna be added? RickTommy talk 05:34, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Most likely, someone will eventually create a separate page, per our standards. Unrelatedly, do you have a colon before the template name of your signature in your preferences? Your entire signature is being copied into the talk page, instead of just the standard template. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 05:45, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

SWF (for mirror)

I xaved the XWF for when thix getx taken down bij the Brotherx Chapx. Dagoth 07:01, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Me too, but I bet they link to it somewhere. — It's dot com 07:08, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Not working

It's not playing for me. Flash file is, but when i go to www.homestarrunner.com, it doesn't work... Open Source Greg (Talk | contribs) 08:36, 1 April 2010 (UTC) (left unsigned)

Screengrabs

Can someone get screengrabs of the 12 HSR Xeriouxly Forxe characters (inc. Still Homsar) for a Xeriouxly Forxe Characters page?

Seems like a good Minor Character Variations. I'll get to work on it. StrongAwesome 14:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Or.....maybe i won't. For some reason, I can't create new pages, including uploading files. Though I have no idea why, it's probably because it's April Fools Day and they don't want people making nonsense pages. Just a guess. StrongAwesome 15:02, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Stylized Characters would be more appropriate (and just a single grab is necessary!) wbwolf (t | ed) 15:27, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

No one likes Still Homsar

At the end, when H. Star and S. Bad are talking, I don't see Still Homsar. Is that worth noting? Spongeboy541 14:51, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

He's right in the bottom-right corner, just slightly peeking out. StrongAwesome 14:55, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, hiding behind Pom. TheLupineOne 15:39, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Ok, i saw him after watching it again. Spongeboy541 16:16, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Ganon

S. Sad looks like Ganon. StarFox 15:24, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

No, not really. — Defender1031*Talk 15:31, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
This is Ganon.

Ganon_tp.jpg

StarFox 15:36, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. He doesn't look like that, just a stylized elephant. Further, this is making fun of the early 90s and that's beast ganon, from twilight princess, which came out around 16 years too late for that. — Defender1031*Talk 15:40, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I also think S. Sad resembles an A Link to the Past character, sorta kinda, although not Ganon. — It's dot com 16:37, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
May I ask which one? Closest I see is the Armos Knight. --Jay (Talk) 19:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking more this guy: Hylian2.gif But I admit the resemblance isn't as strong as it was in my memory before I looked it up. — It's dot com 19:50, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

90s

How can it be "revamped for the 90s" when the animation used has only been popular since 2000? StarFox 15:52, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I think you're taking it a mite seriously. --Jay (Talk) 19:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Considering TBC's obsession with 80s references, what can we say? kyojikasshu 01:15, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Two references

Two things this April Fool's Prank lampoons are the mid-2000s cartoon Loonatics Unleashed, which took beloved Looney Toons characters and "edged them up" in a similar fashion. However these kind of "hardcore" re-imaginings can lay the blame at mid-90s cartoons and comic books, which is why there's so many X's in the title. (X-men, X-Force, Weapon X, Megaman X, etc.) (New Guy)

Exactly why I keep shooting down all the Loonatics references. While, yes, they did do this, they were neither the only nor the first, and given the nineties references and all the X's, it's not even the best fit. --Jay (Talk) 19:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I did have a general explanation of the parody, but it was removed by IDC because it "explained the joke". wbwolf (t | ed) 20:47, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
"Revamped for the nineties! So much more exciting! New demographics when nobody asked for it!" What do we need to explain? It's all there in the lyrics. — It's dot com 21:04, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I think you should at least make reference to it in the Fun Facts... at least? -Mitchell00 01:41, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Always goes to Main Page 21

Every time I've watched this toon, it's gone to Main Page 21: Many Green Lines! Is this worth mentioning? Other toons have done this too, like the halloween toons that link to Main Page 7: Dead as a doornail! [[1]]

It's already mentioned in the transript. — Defender1031*Talk 04:03, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

the homestarrunner.com homepage no longer shows this.

It changed back to normal around 4:30 PM AEDST.

i've still got it -TKWSN 05:46, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
