Needed?

C'mon now, is this really needed? It isn't really a major part in dragon or Trogday 08. I think it still should be a redirect. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, if it was unneeded, why clean it up, then? Why not just put it back as a redirect in the first place? --DorianGray 22:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
The information should not be deleted. It's got a nice little image and everything. Perhaps merge all the dragons from dragon into a Dragons page (Trogdor and The S is for Sucks would be listed, but would keep their own articles). — It's dot com 22:41, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I have to agree. A Dragon or Other Trogdors page might work. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 22:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
A page called Dragons makes a lot of sense. Then this can redirect there. OptimisticFool 22:52, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I think wormlinger may be the next homsar no need to merge the pages Physicsguymonsterman (Talk | contribs) 22:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

Keep the page! Wormlinger will be the next xesome character. — 98.16.161.46 (Talk | contribs) 23:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

Those last 2 comments need reasons, IMHO. I agree with the preceeding posts and think we should merge with Dragons. Bad Bad Guy 23:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I vote merginate. CompGrl323 (talk · edits) 23:21, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
And now for a chant. Merge! Merge! Merge! Merge! Merge! Merge! Merge! Merge! Visorbot 386 01:22, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I think we should keep, actually. We have pages for things more minor than this. (The S is for Sucks itself was pretty-dang-minor before the most recent cartoon.) And it's now been referred to by name. -DAGRON 01:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

agree with DAGRON. keep. --Acam30 02:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Notability guidelines say H*R specific items and characters only need one mention. Common practice gives further sanction to named characters. Keep Flashfight 02:42, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I say keep to. heck there's a page for karrot kazoo hill. If tbc ever does more with Troggy wormlinger will show his face as he will with coach z as coach z's bride Physicsguymonsterman (Talk | contribs) 12:42, 15 January 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

I think it's safe to say Trogdor will continue to appear. As for "Wormdingler", though, while I can easily see it reappearing, I kinda doubt it'll become anything especially important. It's not like it had a prominent role in Trogday 08, either... just used in an Easter egg to make a joke. That said, I don't have any opinion on the merit of this page. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 20:50, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I disagree with Psychics, sure Karrot and Kazzo Hill has a page, but it can't really be merged effectively, whereas there's no reason why WormDingler cannot be put into the Dragons page, with its full description. As is, the Dragons page looks very bland and empty. If it becomes a more major character later, it'll be deserving of its own page, but for now it just...isn't.
The S is for Sucks dragon's notability isn't directly relevant here. It had another appearance between Trogday 08 and dragon, and now it has an entire song devoted to it. Even though Coach Z gave his drawing a name, I don't think it rises to the level of character or even pseudocharacter. It's just a drawing. I think displaying all the drawings on one page makes the most sense, at least until Wormdingler is featured in a more substantial way. — It's dot com 21:38, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... Given that there're many more pages of dubious merit than this one that're perfectly all right, I can only actually see one problem with *this* page. Namely, it tries to take a simple sketch and make it into a character, which in context, it isn't. The page itself is all right, but it's basically miscatagorized, and I don't think "Wormdingler" deserves to be in any "cast lists". -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 00:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I say Keepinate it. I'll do a little bit of cleaning up the wording on the page. Considering some of the other minor articles here I see no reason to delete this one. EASports 01:01, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

UMMMMMMMMMM......... Burninate this freaking waste of dump, re-name "dragons to trogdor attemps and maybe add a little bit of info about wormdingler to the "trogdor attemps" page. mine is a black heart.

Here's what I think: if Monte Negro can have his own article, so can Wormdingler. KEEP. – The Chort 19:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Keep the article. Notable, pseudo-character, mentioned by name, described by characters. Also the article is well worded, have good layout and is clean and a read. I see no reason what so ever to merge this with anything, nor any convincing reason suggested above. Anyone objects removing the TBD tags? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 04:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Pseudocharacter

I went ahead and deleted from the cast list of the two pages it was on. Treating it as a "cast member" would be akin to putting Marzipan's "Thank You" picture in the cast list whenever it appears. It's still linked in both articles, but isn't treated as a character. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:49, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

wrong. in 08, it's used as a pseudocharacter and therefore should be linked. — Defender1031*Talk 02:51, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
How? Because Coach Z talks to it and gives it a name? Yer logic is flawed. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:53, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
"Pseudocharacters are items in the Homestar Runner universe that at some time or another are treated (and in some cases behave) as real characters." Coach Z treats it as a character and even wants to marry it. End of story. — Defender1031*Talk 02:54, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
It's not actually treated as a real character, nor does it "interact" as one. It's a freaking painting that Coach Z talks to. Should the "Black Light Painting of a Unicorn" be listed in the cast list of secret identity? After all, Strong Bad comments on it, and treats it like it's important... Incidentally, you've been ridiculously bossy lately, undoing a lot of edits (both from me and others) just because *you* think differently. I hate generic members of any given community that act like they're admins/mods. Whatever. Have it your way. You win. I'm tired of fighting with you over stupid minor edits. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:58, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Chill, man. In any case, I would not oppose Wormdingler being listed as a pseudocharacter instead of an actual character. I can't remember if pseudocharacters are listed at the top when the cast of a toon is listed. EASports 03:12, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
YK: discussions aren't settled just because one side wears down the other until nobody cares anymore. They're decided on the merits. Furthermore, sysops have no inherent authority over matters of content (in practice, sysops earned their positions by showing good judgment over a long period of time with regard to content issues, so their opinions should be treated with due respect, but they are still operating in a user capacity in these discussions). DeFender: please stop saying "end of story" like there's no gray area here. And both of you stop edit warring.
Okay, that out of the way, I still lean toward this picture being just a picture, not a pseudocharacter. In other words, Coach Z is so pathetic that he talks to pictures. He doesn't actually think it's alive in sense that would raise it to character status. — It's dot com 03:16, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd argue that it is now a pseudocharacter, as Coach Z was interacting with it as if it were a character, and in a particular deep way, I might add. Strong Bad talking to a unicorn poster isn't quite the same in quality. In fact, I'd argue that there's far more relevant interaction there than with The S Is For Sucks Dragon in the toon. However, we need to wait dor consensus on this before editing the page. And to both of you: my rule of thumb is if a good faith edit is removed, take it to talk, do not simply re-add the edit. That's what we call an edit war, and only ill will come of it. If someone reverts, discuss. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
YK, i apologize, you are right, i have been acting a bit unilaterally recently, and i'm sorry. Dot Com, i know it's not the first time, but in this case it was actually that i didn't realize he hadn't been satisfied when i reverted. You are right that saying "end of story" is a bit, well, strong, and i take that back. I still think that it IS a pseudocharacter, but that's no excuse for the way i went about it. — Defender1031*Talk 03:22, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
My apologies, too. I didn't intend to start trouble or anything. I was being bold, as is encouraged here, and well... guess it was all just a misunderstanding. Anyhow, now that I'm thinking more clearly... I'm still not entirely sure Wormdingler can be elevated to "pseudocharacter" status based on the fact that Coach Z talked to it. Keep in mind in diorama, he appeared to be "talking" to "Ronmartin Realdude" on a "cellphone"... I'm not really sure this is the same thing, but in hindsight, the Wormdingler Easter egg reminds me a lot of that one. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 04:08, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the topic at hand, I'm on the fence. Coach Z didn't just say, "I want you to be my bride" .. he also bought the thing a cupcake! So, on one hand it seems that he's saying, "I sure wish you were alive because I'd marry you if you were" .. but on the other hand, he bought the thing a cupcake! A cupcake! =] Leaning toward: treat as a pseudo-character. OptimisticFool 06:51, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Would STUFF be the proper course of action? EASports 12:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
The argument that it isn't a pseudocharacter based solely on Coach Z's pathetic state would be akin to removing the Benedetto's from the list based on Homestar's stupidity. And to say that only being treated like a character once disavows it's pseudocharacteristics would eliminate Cardboard Homestar, Credenza, Doreauxgard, The Geddup Noise, Homestar Jr, The Painting of a Guy with a Big Knife, Stooly, Tofu Homestar, and the Wagon Fulla Pancakes. Since there is no objective way to keep those and exclude Wormdingler, I vote keep &mdashFlashfight 15:39, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
YES. MAKE IT A PSEUdOCHARATER! HaldoHelscome!

We need to expand this pagePhysicsguymonsterman

How? I think we've said everything that can be said about it. This is all the info there is. --DorianGray 20:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Compound Article

Hey, you know how there's an article on the middle school varients of the members of free contry, US of A? could we make an article like that, but with the strange attemps to draw trogdor? Haldo (Talk | contribs) 21:37, 15 January 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

That's a terrific idea that I wholly support. I only wish I had thought of it first in the section above. — It's dot com 21:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that would have been nice, then we could have avoided having to think of it again. — Defender1031*Talk 21:43, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
This is exactly whats being discussed up top but listen here I hsve sn Idea

We make a dragons page and dragons such as trogador and this one and even tasters choice (which with 1 appearance got its own page) are listed but also more important ones (like this) have there own page too

I say keep. It has its own name now anyway. 76.208.29.196 02:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Keep this, at least for now

I vote that we keep the Wormdingler page alive at least for two or three more 'toons. If he makes no more appearances, then perhaps a Dragons page is the best idea. However, give him a chance. There's my vote.--Gaeamil 22:55, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Keep How many times has a seemingly meaningless throwaway gag turned into a majore part of the site. Give ol' Wormy the benifiet of the doubt!-- DongleGoblin 01:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
