Ding! Weekly Fanstuff is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

A-pretty Good

The chet is fune. That's gotta be the most awesome fanstuff ever! I hope general comments are okay... -- AgentSeethroo 15:17, 19 Aug 2004 (MST)

I don't know, we might want to have a designated section heading for them. Like "mindless chatter" or something. -- Tom 15:29, 19 Aug 2004 (MST)
Where'd that be? On this page? "Witty Banter" would be funny...but it's usually not witty... *sigh*. -- AgentSeethroo 16:01, 19 Aug 2004 (MST)
Yeah, I mean a general heading that would be used on a discussion page if someone just wants to leave a comment like you did. I don't want to encourage it though. And we've always called it "mindless chatter" in the disclaimer. -- Tom 16:22, 19 Aug 2004 (MST)
Speaking of chet, is it just me or is that NOT strongbad, notice the blue hair, its stinkoman!!!! --Frogz 10:46, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Anyone have the pleh jallegiance screen shot? -- cyco

hey this stuff`is prettay goodUser:Vile.exe/Vile.exe

Yes, I had it archived on my computer for several months now (unknowingly, no doubt), and only yesterday did I realise I had it available all this time...and I had yet to see it here on the wiki. The flag of strongbadia (in all its glory) can now be seen in weekly fanstuff! --Teh P. 22:07, 3 Oct 2004 (MST)

What are homestar meltymen? -- Mithent 09:41, 1 Oct 2004 (MST)

Almost 100% sure "sweetchucks" means Sweet Chuck Taylor's .. because the shoes are Converse, a brand by Chuck Taylor. -- EMJS

Cardboard Tube link

I've removed the link to obeythetube.com from the Trogdor Stand-up cabinet listing. Some of the images in their "images" section look similar to the cabinet, but I wasn't able to find that particular image anywhere. Perhaps the image was just created using the same software? Does anyone have any information regarding this website and its images? -- Tom 17:11, 5 Oct 2004 (MST)

It's definately there. Go to images => mapojects => old school arcade. They have a bunch or arcade cabinets, including the exact trogdor image. --209.51.90.71 10:49, 3 Dec 2004 (MST)

Indeed it is, linked to from this page: arcade_trogdor.jpg. Well done. -- Tom 12:40, 10 Dec 2004 (MST)

Dates

Are these dates positive, or do I just remember "sweetchucks" being before "The Cheat in a Crisper Drawer"? -- FireBird|Talk

As far as I know, they're accurate. — InterruptorJones[[]]
They are all correct. -- Tom 13:58, 10 Nov 2004 (MST)
I must have bad memory skills. Whatever that means. -- FireBird|Talk

Possiblity for a table?

A number of the images in this article are rather large and a few are off-site images. Nevertheless, does anyone else think that the weekly fanstuff article is a candidate for a table? I believe Tom implemented a nice table, very recently, on a similiar article over at Sketchbook, and I just wanted to know if anyone else thought that it would be a good idea? I could help with the image uploading if a few others think it might work. --Teh P. 22:50, 11 Nov 2004 (MST)

I've converted it to a table. All that needs to be done now is for the images to be described in the fourth collum there. -- Tom 12:43, 10 Dec 2004 (MST)

Skullcap

Is it just me or did they totally miss out on the "homestarmukle"???

Homestar Skullcap, what kinda name is that?

That's what TBC decided to name it, mystery poster. Appears to be a 'yarmulka' to me. "Skullcap" is a just a more neutral (politically correct) word for the same garment. --Teh P. 23:09, 11 Nov 2004 (MST)

Heh, I suppose the political-correctness is an issue, but I thought it was a great funny that got passed up. : ) I'm a long-time hrwiki lurker. --Aegd

Hey So that is my head and my Yarmulke. I didnt think anyone would get Homestarmulke. But how awesome.

Shouldn't this description read something like "Homestar on a yarmulka (Jewish skullcap)"? The skullcap mushroom description is flat-out incorrect. -- random lurker

Archival

This page should be archived periodically to prevent it from getting too long. Once a month mayhaps? - Drhaggis 00:47, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)

I agree. Perhaps we can have a poll on the forums for choosing the best time increment to archive? --The Paper 20:40, 2 Dec 2004 (MST)

Message to TBC from Jonathan Howe

Be sure to view the XML source of this file: [1]

I learned about this XML file when I was poking through these flash files: [2] & [3] when I found I couldn't view the image or the text when those two preceding files are saved remotely (i.e., on a hard drive.) Jonathan (I assume his last name is Howe, as he is a programmer) has left a message in a comment to the "Chapos" about the placement of certain "character shortcuts." He more or less 'signs' the comment with the words "Love, jonathan." I just found this rather amusing. Does anyone else? --The Paper 20:37, 2 Dec 2004 (MST)
this should be a fun fact!! --Frogz 10:50, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Alt text

Please leave the alt text for the images as the exact text that appears in the images. This is for easier and better searching. Thanks. -- Tom 13:19, 16 Jan 2005 (MST)

Dennis

Just a side note that the Dennis sign is cut off, below Dennis is probally "Willows Rd." or stuff like that. Not that un-common for roads to be nammed after people in the USA. Just for those that don't realize. - Mick

True or not, it's on this site because it's on H*R.com. --Jay (Talk) 07:35, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
UPDATE: But I'm going for not, because we can clearly see where the bottom of the sign is. --Jay (Talk) 07:36, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Whoa, Didn't see that one.. Ok scratch that. - Mick
Here's what I could find on Mapquest. -- tomstiff 20:03, 18 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Possible Homestar yarmulke sighting

Is there anyway to tell where these things come from? While I was scanning the page the other night, I saw the HR yarmulke, and remembered I had seen a yarmulke very similar to that at a baseball game I went to a few months ago in Little Falls, NJ (I'm from Clifton, NJ, a neighboring town). --ISlayedTheKerrek 23:09, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Marraige Invitation?

Are Homestar Runner and Marzipan getting Married?¿?¿????????? If not, whats with the wedding invite??

No, they are not getting married. It's an invitation that somebody, somewhere, at sometime made with Homestar and Marzipan getting married. "A fan." —BazookaJoe 19:42, 18 Aug 2005 (UTC)

OOOOOOOooh... okay. I understand now. It scared me there for a minute!

This is my wedding invitation. My wife created these two versions of the characters. We figured TBC ought to see them, so we sent them an invite. Aaronite 21:47, 18 Aug 2005 (PDT)

sending fanstuff

How do you send fanstuff so that they have a chance to get put on the weekly fanstuff? Do you email it to the BCS?

Posted by Martin F.

I don't know in every case, but as mentioned above, I sent in my wedding invitation in early May to TBC through the mailing address in the Store P.O. box. We didn't know if it would get to them, but it clearly did. It wasn't intended to be fanstuff; we actually wanted them to see it. At any rate, I suppose you could also e-mail them to TBC. Fairly On Point Kings

Is it just me, or is it quite plausable that Strong Mad is being played by a dresser? Thunderbird 17:06, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Seems logical to me. Making such a rectangular costume might be a tad difficult (can YOU balance a thick wooden board on your head for a long time?). Obviously, it's a fairly thick surface, as it doesn't bend at the ends, like a piece of cardboard might if balanced on someone's head and draped with a sheet. Also, the place where Strong Mad's arms would be are kinda limp-looking (perhaps indicating that there's no person in the costume who would manipulate the arms). It looks about the right size for a dresser too, judging by the fellow dressed as Strong Bad next to it. And lastly, the Kick The Cheat plushie on top indicates that it's a level surface, which would be hard to do on a person. So, in summary, it's not just you. --DorianGray

Archives

Does anyone know of a site that archives all the weekly fanstuff? Or is there any way to access the old fanstuff from homestarrunner.com?

Press article at the top of the page. There you go! --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif, 21:01, 16 September 2005 (BST)

Thanks. The reason I didn't realize this was because I came directly to this page (the discussion board) from google, and not through the site.

Archive Page

Should we split this page? It's getting really long and isn't going to get shorter. - Joshua 20:28, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

You mean like by years or something? That's a good idea. — It's dot com 20:40, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Yeah. By years was exactly what I was thinking. - Joshua 20:53, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yah, it IS a good idea. --Ookelaylay 19:47, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Homestarbeque

DUDE! I totally want that barbeque! Sweiously! --Ookelaylay 19:47, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Kids dig the cheat

The kid in the middle for this weeks fanstuff is my sister. I made her that costume and we went trick or treating as homestar and the cheat. That one baby looks like it is wearing a modified chef hat... -Jenny 05:20, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Do you have any other photos from the same set? -- Tom 08:05, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
She posted more images on the Fanstuff Wiki, and I linked to it here. Should we upload the image to this wiki, or should it stay where it is? - Joshua 17:13, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

I uploaded it it is on my userpage you can use it or do whatever guys. I have another one also of me holding her in my arms that is pretty cute lemme upload it offsite so you can see if you like that one. -Jenny 18:32, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[Here it is] -Jenny

Submitting?

Call me stupid, but how does one submit fan stuff to TBC?—S*R 02:52, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

I emailed mine to them as an attachment... on a very polite email praising their site on behalf of my family ;) -Jenny 02:55, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Backpack

Yeah, it looks like a bookbag/bagpack of sorts. On the left, it seems to be carried by some lady and it hangs down to her waist (those are pretty long straps). The second it's just set against a pole or handrail of sorts, overlooking some hill and there's a staircase to the left. A needlessly detailed description, but a fun one to write nonetheless. --Stux 17:28, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Deryb Car?

The description for the pinewood derby cars say it's a 'Derby car made of pinewood'. This sounds a little strange to me, I mean am I the only person who knows what the Pinewood Derby is? The Pardack
