What makes you think Strong Bad skydiving is a blatant lie? I think it is just one of thousands of the unfortunate things that has happened to him, and that the “What am I, your dad? I can't believe I pulled the old "mash Stop when you think you're mashing Record and mash Record when you think you're mashing Stop" routine on myself.” is just a hilarious explanation.

Ding! Weclome Back is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

[edit] Agatha Christie/Angela Lansbury

Shouldn't the part explaning that be in Real-World References, rather than Remarks? Seems to me like it should. -- Michelle Mabelle

Yes, I think so, and doesn't it reference the character Angela Lansbury played in murder she wrote more than the miss marple movie she was in? she played a mystery writer who solved mysteries. -- phantom

[edit] Bologna

We can leave the Baloney in Baloney Sammich Truck but otherwise it should be bologna

Both are accepted spellings... Merriam-Webster lists Baloney as a variant of Bologna. --phlip TC 15:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Those words have undergone differentiation. Baloney is properly only "nonsense", and the meat product is bologna. — It's dot com 16:47, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
It's dot com, I don't think that's a true statement. M-W shows it as a variant of "bologna"; if you have a dictionary citation where it's noted that "baloney" doesn't mean "bologna" anymore, then provide it. Especially as they use the "baloney" spelling in the toon, and barring absence of evidence that it cannot adequately mean the meat, we should use the "baloney" spelling throughout. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 19:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Touché. Sandwich was also misspelled as "sammich" so the explicit use of "baloney' was probably just word play.
"Sammich" is not a documented and accepted spelling of "sandwich", however. "Baloney" is. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:30, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I have personally never seen the sausage meat being spelled as anything except "bologna" in any serious context. Bubs' truck is hardly what I'd call serious. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Because simple personal experience is limited, we have lexicographers whose job it is to determine actual usage on the broad scale. Above it is shown that Merriam Webster's lexicographic staff feels "baloney" is an accepted spelling of the meat product. Cambridge and American Heritage agree. Oxford seems to disagree, however Oxford is a primarily British dictionary which also documents US usage, so the actual US dictionaries should take precedence here. Note that I am not saying "bologna" would be wrong, but that it would be inconsistent with TBC's usage on the site, and as such would be less appropriate for the knowledge base. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:30, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't think the outcome of this discussion is very important, but I will note that searching Oscar Meyer's (probably the manufacturer of the most bologna in North America) website for baloney reveals zero occurrences, and searching for bologna reveals several. My vote is to refer to it as "bologna" everywhere but "Baloney Sammich Truck". Trey56 21:43, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Of course that's a branding choice on Oscar Meyer's part (the song wouldn't be so great if they had a way with b-a-l-o-n-e-y!), as "baloney" is the branding choice for Maloney's Baloney. Then there's LightLife's Foney Baloney, another clear branding choice. One would expect branding usage to be consistent, regardless of whether the word is real or not, or whether the form of the word is more, less, or equally prevalent in American English. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:51, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Also, I think it's strange to assume that "baloney" is TBC's preferred spelling based off of "Baloney Sammich Truck"; no one's arguing that "sandwich" should be respelled "sammich" everywhere in the article... :) Trey56 21:54, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Again, as I noted above, no one would argue that, because "sammich" is not a lexicographically-accepted word. "Baloney" is, as I think I have proven, as correct a spelling as "bologna" in American English, and to insist on using a spelling TBC did not use in this case seems a little odd to me. Compare to this: what if they did a toon about "pop" and people argued we should call it "soda" because it matches their personal experience? This is NOT a case of them making up a word or spelling out a slang term, and the line of thinking we'd use if they called it "ba-low-knee" or something else like that doesn't apply. It's my position that if they use a real spelling of a real word in canon, we should follow suit when discussing canon. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:03, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it's pretty much a regional spelling difference, like saying 'soda' or 'pop'. Most people, I would assume, have seen both. Since the only documented instance of the word's spelling is 'baloney', I think we should continue that spelling throughout, although add somewhere "baloney (which can also be spelled bologna)".Trelawney 22:10, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
If only they had misspelled "truck" — then the case would be clear! Since this isn't the case, I think Trelawney's suggestion is the best compromise, although I would change the parenthetical statement to "(more commonly spelled bologna)". And now I plan to spend no more time thinking about this molehill. Trey56 22:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm not questioning the veracity of the various dictionaries you noted, nor am I suggesting that baloney isn't a variant of bologna. What I am saying is that, given their differentiation, baloney in the sense of the meat product is a needless variant (for my source and some excellent further reading, I highly recommend Garner's Modern American Usage). As for this toon, I don't have a good answer there. It clearly reads "Baloney" on the truck, which is why I have made no attempt to change the references in the transcript. Whether or not TBC were being tongue-in-cheek with the spelling is anyone's guess, but, as much as I dislike it, we should spell it consistently without a better reason not to. — It's dot com 00:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I will say that because bubs spelled Sandwich as Sammich. We should spell it sammich the whole article and i'm off! — Taste of your medicine (Talk | contribs) 03:50, 4 July 2006 (UTC) (left unsigned)

I'd caution against disrupting the wiki to illustrate a point, as Wikipedia does in this guideline. Please discuss the issue here on the talk page and not through edits and edit summaries. -- Tom 04:08, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Please review my points above, in particular my 22:03, 3 July 2006 UTC post. With which part of that do you disagree? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:15, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I'd just like to add that "sammich" is pronounced differently to "sandwich", so it was clear which one to transcribe. When Bubs said "I'm-tryingtosellabaloneysammich!" he clearly says "sammich", and when he says "I drove my baloney sandwich truck down to the beach" he clearly says "sandwich". Yes, I thought of that while I was transcribing - I considered using "sammich" everywhere too, but that wasn't what he was saying. With baloney/bologna, there is no such differentiation - the only difference is in the spelling, and the decision boils down to "we should use the correct term" vs "we should use the term that's still an accepted variant, but would be consistant". I think the latter is the better choice. --phlip TC 06:53, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
It was word play! Tell you what. A wiki and fourm consensus seems like what we should do, I say we vote on this to be truly fair. At next Tuesday we take the winner and post that in Weclome Back. TOYM 15:42 UTC 4 July 2006
I think we should just spell it however Los` Brotheren Cowboy Boots spell it. --Homfrog 22:24, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Quick question: Has anyone considered the possibility that Bubs is trying to sell nonsense sandwiches, as opposed to bologna sandwiches? That if someone actually bought a sammich from Bubs on this deserted island, they'd get a couple slices of bread, maybe with a fortune inside or something? :) It could just be one of the 99 ways he rips you off. That would be a good case for leaving it "baloney", IMHO. :) — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 20:17, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Uh... can I simply say that this whole bologna/baloney controversy began with an incorrect assumption that "baloney" is not an acceptable spelling of the meat many call "bologna"? With many respected lexicons agreeing on its acceptance, thereby setting that incorrect assumption aside, there's no purpose in formulating an excuse for the use of the spelling we are using. We're using good American English, and we have no need to fear we're being imprecise or uncivilized, or to otherwise feel bad about it.
Well I feel guilty ;) Trey56 04:46, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Bad on the Airplane

Did anybody notice that Strongbad didn't move with the plane? Should we put this under goofs?

I don't think it was a goof; I think it was an intentional choice on the part TBC. They probably thought it would look better if SB wasn't jiggling the whole time he was talking. Also, cartoons don't necessarily have to obey physics. Trey56 14:04, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Is it worth noting that on the video StrongBad recorded, he doesn't appear to be actually wearing a parachute -- just a helmet? -- Catgirl

I think both the above statements deserve to be in remarks at least. —NFITC1talk

[edit] Topiary

Who is that man in the topiary garden? It doesn't look anything like the bust of Van Buren... Rogue mentioned Shakespere in IRC, and it bears a resemblance... what do people think? --phlip TC 15:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

I think it might just be Shakespere.--H*Bad 16:07, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I gotta agree with H*Bad. Shakespeare is who I immediately thought of when I saw that. Ramrod 16:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I, too, thought of the Bard of Avon. — It's dot com 17:06, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
One more vote for Shakespeare... that's why come he's so awesome. Trelawney
I thought it was Bach when I first saw it, and since Bach is referenced in the same scene (Rockin' with Bach), it seems to make sense.AndrewS
It's definitely Shakespeare. Bach was always depicted with a full wig and no facial hair, whereas the most famous portrait of Old Billie has him balding with medium-long hair and a Van Dyke. And the earring. Catgirl

[edit] Chaps upgrade to Flash 8?

They've said before that they still use Flash 5 (or was it Flash MX, I forget). But this eppisode used alot more blurred objects then usual (in the plane, the blades of grass the camera records and the quick zoom in on h*) and bluring is a new feature added to Flash 8 (Chaps have previously used photoshop to do this). I'm working on importing the flash file into my Flash 8, I'll see if that has any clues. --John

No, it's still made in 7. They just used images I guess. --B14Z3

Well, I don't know 'bout you, but my copy of Flash 7 can blur stuff. It can also addd accurate shadows, made explosions, and somethin' else I can't remember. --Homfrog 22:27, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
They said they use Flash 5 though, not 7 or 8. Dagger (talk · edits) 05:35, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doin' that thing you do

The lyric referring to "our bass player" reminds me of That Thing You Do!, where the bass guitarist had no other name than T(he) B(ass) Player. — It's dot com 16:47, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Heh, thats true.--H*Bad 17:02, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually TBC are most likely referring to the fact that bass players are generally un-notested

[edit] "The part with the narwhal?"

At least, I think SB said Narwhal. You don't get that many of them in midair, but I'd imagine one of the celebrities had brought one along.

There were no celebrities.--H*Bad 19:05, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps a reference to Hitchhiker's Guide? It's far too subtle for me to add it, though someone braver might include it. At least it should die in STUFF.--Bobo the King 19:45, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
That was a sperm whale, though, not a narwhal. It's probably just cause narwhals are so cool. :)Trelawney
Not to metion the marked lack of a Bowl of Petunias. Geshmalder 01:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I dunno, narwhals seem to have a habit of coming out of nowhere in the world of Macromedia Flash (see #9, although it's better to watch them in order). It wouldn't surprise me at all to have one pop up midair in Free Country USA. --Soapergem Talk.png Contrib.png 04:19, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
It should be noted that the "Penguin Calls" flash you just linked to was made by the same person--drewmo--that did the Narwhal Diving game, which the toon appears to reference. Everything's connected. ~ Bruce 05:27, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Drewmo/Spinnerdisc.com does a lot of stuff with narwhales. including tiny plaid ninjas episode #2 (click the shoe), on which the game was first based. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 19:54, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Homsars hat flying off...

...and then coming back, reminds me of the parts from Airplane! when one of the characters tossed their jacket and it came back to him.--H*Bad 18:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I think the sae thing happened with a hat too. I love that movie.... SaltyTalk! 18:46, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Homsar's hat comes back to him all the time. - Joshua 18:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Maybe its something that the Chapmans took from the movie.--H*Bad 19:01, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I just thinks that he threw it around the world, so naturally it came back to him. Homsar would do that kind of thing. --Homfrog 22:24, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Or it simply flew around behind the viewer. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:29, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
It should be pointed out that in the movie, the hat and jacket came back from the direction he threw them, as if someone tossed them back, not from the opposite direstion, which is what Homsar's hat did.-Exhibit A 03:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Did anyone notice...

The audio levels in this tune were kinda subpar. I suppose it might be my computer, god knows my speakers are dying, but I've watched every toon on the site and I've never had problems understanding as much dialogue as this one. The Cheat and Strong Mad were playing so loudly I couldn't hear Marzy... Oh, and Homestar's eyes looked kinda small in his sleepyhead outfit, didn't they?

[edit] Blogs?

Did it sound to anyone else like Strong Bad said "ladies' blogs", not "latest blogs"? SA2Tails 03:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I thought so at first too, but on a re-listen it was pretty clearly "latest" to me. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:04, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I myself heard "latest blogs". SaltyTalk! 04:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I heard "latest blogs" but that's probably because I didn't know there was such thing as a vlog until I read this hrwiki article. I guess vlogs would make more sense though, considering Strong bad is (or at least thinks he is) taping the event on video. --Chupaqueso 17:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I heard "ladies' blogs" when I first watched it and was actually surprised to see it transcribed as "latest blogs" here. Personally, I think he was saying "ladies" but it sounded similar to "latest" because of that Strong Badian pseudo-Mexican accent we've all come to know and love. Besides, given his constant and hopeless obsession with attempting to impress "the ladies", it would be a very much in-character thing for him to say. Beatfox 05:33, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

It happened in Biz Cas Fri 3, too. Da M-izz-uTizzalk 20:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rival camps

Right now we have the following real-world reference:

  • Athletic competitions between summer camps occupying the same campground are common in family movies and cartoons.

Could someone add a well-known example to this fact; I can't think of one offhand. Thanks, Trey56 13:55, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

The movie Heavyweights is a good example of this -TheDensel

I just added "Heavyweights" (didn't see TheDensel's comment) and "Meatballs" to the fact. 69.217.59.140 16:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Goofs

First of all, weclome? (it's spelled wrong) That's on purpose, right? It doesn't really seem to stand out, and it seems like if it was on purpose, TBC would make it stand out more. Second, strongbad doesn't wiggle with the plane. Should we add these?

I think both are intentional: the former has its own page, and see my comments on the latter. Trey56 14:06, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I think TBC did that, because in many other 'toons, SBemails, and puppet stuff, they do switch letters around, make the word sound like it has another letter added into it, or write/type it with or without another letter. I am surprised you don't know better...... JibblejibblejibbleJibblejibblejibble

[edit] Arm length and head position goof?

When Strong Bad is turning on his camera in the plane, his arm is abnormally long (stretchy??), also his head is in "front" of his laptop's screen. A few frames later he pulls his head back behind the screen (where we'd normally see it) -- it almost looks as if his head just passed through the laptop. 75.26.2.227 19:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Westerburg/berg

"Burg" is the german word for "Castle", while "Berg" is for "Mount(ain)". Both are very common suffixes for german town names as well. Coincidence?

[edit] TBC Vacation

I have a feeling that the reason why the site didn't update much is because TBC went on vacation? This cartoon sounds like a way of telling everyone. Oh, and please don't remove this comment again. It ticks me off. King Cheesia

I'm sorry to hear that. You see, your comment doesn't really belong here: it doesn't have anything to do with the content of the article about this toon, which is what this talk page is for. On the other hand, there is a forum thread specifically for opinions and chatter about the toon itself. Also, this is kind of already mentioned in the Explanations section. — It's dot com 01:30, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I heard they took a break from the site because their dad died. Any verification?
Let's see; Don Chapman sadly passed away on April 15, 2006. However, the Brothers Chaps soldiered on and continued to update the site with Thy Dungeonman 3, senior prom and isp. After that, the site was quiet from May 16, 2006, until July 3, 2006, except for the occasional Store or Podstar Runner updates. Note that the break started a month after Don's death, so I don't think that was the reason why the site wasn't updated during June. Also, the toon, Weclome Back, seems to imply that the Brothers Chaps went on vacation, just like almost everyone in the toon. – The Chort 13:57, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Island trivia

Do we really know for a fact that "The island is used in this toon because in the DVD commentary on Strong Bad Email island, Matt said they should use the island again"? Sounds like hearsay to me. It could just as easily be based on a whim, or that it's the only previously seen beach for one to drive to. - (Random Nitpicky Person) 23:31, 4 July 2006 (EST)

Hasn't it been reused since that commentary anyway? Was it in disconnected? --DorianGray

[edit] Baloney Sammich Truck

[edit] Narwhal is a reference to AKA Driver... how exactly?

How is Narwhal Diving a reference to AKA Driver? I've looked up the lyrics for said song and there's not a single line in the song mentioning narwhals. In addition, drewmo (the author of Narwhal Diving) has posted in the forum topic for Weclome Back, saying he's never heard AKA Driver. I'd say we have reasonable doubt here... ~ Bruce 05:30, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Other than "Narwhal Diver" and "NyQuil Driver" sounding alike, there's nothing. --4.159.116.75 18:41, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. The similarity in name seemed more than coincidental to me, but I guess not.

[edit] I'm with gluten/stupid

Strong Sad's "I'm with gluten" t-shirt seems to be a reference to the "I'm with stupid" t-shirts, which I think were popular in the eighties. Might be something more to it, though.Old Timey Me 03:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

It almost certainly is, but I think that'd be explaining the joke, which we avoid. Unless most viewers wouldn't get the reference, such a joke-explaining comment talks down to the reader, and we avoid them. Of course, it being an obvious joke is merely my opinion, I may be wrong. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:45, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it's worth a shot — I hadn't noticed it, even though I'm familiar with the "stupid" shirts. And I'm sure there's a healthy portion of people who haven't seen the shirt. Trey56 04:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Isnt it a Running Gag with Homestar to announce something, then immidietly ask what he is hearing about so-and-so happening (Sleeping through June, not bringing Donuts, and from the Marzipan Answering machine, hearing about this Boyfriend Dan)

Well, if it happens any more it will be notable. But what would you title a page like this? SaltyTalk! 06:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bubs' Voice

A lot of the characters' voices have been more and more pronounced lately. I noticed this with Strong Bad, and for example in Weclome Back, Bubs' voice sounds very Limozeen-y, and less Bubs-y. It's a little irritating. Did anyone else notice this? Quite 23:34, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Toot sweet/tout de suite?

Near the beginning, I thought Marzipan's response to Bubs' question about her vacation was that it was "toot sweet" a reference to a song in the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. (sign your posts)

[edit] Trogdor Filmography?

Trogdor appears in this toon, albeit in topiary garden form. Does this count as an "appearance" worthy of adding this article to the Trogdor Filmography Category? --The_homestrongzipansadcheatsmith2.PNG Tlk/Cnt 19:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

We've added characters to their filmography categories for similar things before (for example, Homsar's appearance in stupid stuff). --DorianGray

[edit] Pom Pom Eyes

At the ending part, did anyone else think that Pom Pom's eyes were too far apart? --Fizz123 Talk

Perhaps, but isn't it a little bit extreme to be analyzing the distance between Pom Pom's eyes? — Lapper (talk) 21:44, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
It just looked unnatural... --Fizz123 Talk
It did look a little off, but he was facing right at the camera, which is also unusual... --DorianGray
I always figured that like his appendages, his other features can just kind of float around to an extent. Thunderbird 22:38, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Light in the Leftovers

Is there a way to compare this phrase with "Light in the loafers" without offending people? Or should I not bother.— Bassbone (TALK Strong Mad Has a Posse CONT) 22:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

This has already been dealt with; the decision seems to be "don't point it out." --Da M-izz-uTizzalk 22:34, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
It's highly unlikely that Homsar meant anything related to sexuality by saying the phrase, and nothing else in the scene suggests or even hints at a sexual theme. Therefore, the connection between "leftovers" and "loafers" must just be a coincidence, and Homsar was referring to something else. — It's dot com 22:38, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually, most of what Homsar says (with the exception of that message he left for Marzipan) means nothing at all, and is not related to anything. I think it is a play of "light in the loafers", but since we have little kids here, this one (like David Coppafeel) can slide. --Da M-izz-uTizzalk 22:45, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Commonly misunderstood Coach

Coach Z's line about "Glorten" Camp echoes a similar line from him in mascot. There, he refers to the same entity in two different ways, and here, he refers to two different entities in the same way.

[edit] Whistling candy

"Toot sweet" is a play on the French phrase "tout de suite" (which translates to "immediately" or "at once"). Both phrases are pronounced roughly the same.

[edit] New pants?

Did anyone else notice that Strong Bad's pants had purple shadows on them in this toon? I don't think I've seen those pants in anything before or after this one. —Zelinda 01:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Looks/sounds like the sixth design to me. --DorianGray

[edit] Johnny Castaway

I'm pretty sure that there is a reference to Johnny Castaway here. Remember how Johnny always used those thought bubbles to show what he was thinking? Pom Pom and the Poopsmith do that in the easter egg. The lo-res bird that Bubs yells at seems to be circumstantial evidence too. I'm pretty certain about this one but it got cut from the article very quickly when I posted it a few days ago. Anyone else remember/willing to investigate Johnny Castaway (from screen antics)?

[edit] Gumball Surprise = reference?

Hey guys,

You know, Gumball Surprise reminds me of those "character" ice cream bars with gumball eyes or noses that you sometimes find being sold on ice cream trucks. (And "Not a real popsicle" is obviously another ice-cream-truck reference...)--71.131.30.63 21:00, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Possibly. I would add it and see if anyone takes it away. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 22:20, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] And this is how many times they've said -pèd?

I'm just saying, but I think they've sayed stripèd or shapèd numerous times in the HR universe. Possibly a word running gag? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 00:36, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pete Townsend...really?

The Fun Facts mention Marzy's guitar destruction as a direct reference to Pete Townsend. Is this apt, given the numbers of people who perform similar acts? Flashfight

[edit] Strong Bad goof?

When we see Strong Bad ranting about the whole "Oh, cuh-rap! What am I, your dad?" thing, we see nothing but the background of The Field behind him. But then, after it zooms out to see all the characters, the telephone pole with the time clock on it, it is halfway obscured by Strong Bad. Shouldn't the pole have been obscured by SB during his close-up? ~ CoachZ(talk · contribs)~ 04:49, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Seagull

I'm not a pro on this wiki like you guys, so I'll let you guys edit this, but the seagull isn't an "Atari" sea gull. It's from California Games by Epyx. Classic game. Anyway, the seagull comes from the hackey-sack event. — 128.12.162.3 (Talk | contribs) 05:15, 2 July 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

[edit] Image in Transcript

Why is the "everybody everybody" image in the transcript? to me it looks out of place and unneeded. For history's sake (and to save everyone else the trouble of sifting through), it was added here by BazookaJoe. — Defender1031*Talk 00:00, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

It was initially used on the What's New? bar on the main page, probably as to prevent a spoiler. It was probably added to this page later so we wouldn't lose it, and could still make use of it. --DorianGray 01:42, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
That doesn't address the question of whether it looks good there or not. — Defender1031*Talk 01:46, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I think it fits nicely. Strongkinghomsarsmith 01:54, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I think it's out of place, as DeFender said. No other toon has an image in its transcript, and it was my understanding we try to avoid it. And though this ending screen is slightly more "notable" than others, having it in the transcript doesn't improve the page. In fact, it's distracting, IMHO. OptimisticFool 02:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Skydive

What makes you think Strong Bad skydiving is a blatant lie? I think it is just one of thousands of the unfortunate things that has happened to him, and that the “What am I, your dad? I can't believe I pulled the old "mash Stop when you think you're mashing Record and mash Record when you think you're mashing Stop" routine on myself.” is just a hilarious explanation.

I don't think that the part where he actualy skydived was a lie. I mean, He was in a plan with a parachute, but I think the part with the "narwhale" and "celebrities" was a lie. cash money tc 20:10, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Real cool flavour?

I have to say that every time I watch this at Cool Tapes' song I hear real fruit flavour, not real cool flavour, anyone else hear it this way? -- The McArby! 22:57, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

I can't tell one way or the other. I will add that "fruit" only makes sense if you consider the first Cool Tapes appearance, and only vaguely then. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 23:06, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Doe Not rememberers will be stopped!

Ok, when Homestar says "But Doe Not rememberers...exedra exedra" Is it a relation to Senor Cardgage in "Senorial Day!" saying, "You doe not want to miss out on any of the action!" Or whatever that sentance was? JibblejibblejibbleJibblejibblejibble

Since he's specifically talking about donuts in this case, I doubt it, but I suppose it's possible. (BTW, it's "et cetera", not "exedra". Or just "etc." works.) --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
