[edit] Featuring

By my count, Peacey P goes solo in the song for ~63 seconds while Taranchula sings on their own only for only a third of that, mostly doing back up or chorus work. Begs the question who is featuring whom here? Mesmerickiwi

It's still the band playing, even if they don't sing for most of it.
A lot of songs that feature a guest musician have the spotlight on the guest.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 22:41, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
If you'll look at the lyrics and the page title, you'll see that Taranchula wanted Peacey P in the song to "make his product phat for him," the product being the song. That's why Peacey P "sings" more than Taranchula. --DENNIS T/C 22:27, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Woah

Is it me, or this sound very similar to the style of Linkin park? (metal with rapping) SI.com!

Not at all, Linkin Park is emo rap, Taranchula is death metal. Linkin Park is almost screamo, except you can tell what they're saying. Taranchula's words are dark and difficult to understand, but by no means screamo. Gulstab 16:09, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

No, but I mean in: metal+rap+random logo insertions in music video. SI.com!
Linkin Park isn't metal, it's hardly even "rock". Gulstab 16:09, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linkin_park first 2 paragraphs. SI.com!
Don't try to 1up me, I think we can all agree that Linkin Park and Taranchula sound nothing alike. Gulstab 16:09, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
As mentioned in the article, the idea for this video stems from the soundtrack to the 1993 movie "Judgement Night", which featured various metal/rock and hip-hop/rap groups collaborating. I can't imagine Chaps Bros. had Linkin Park in mind when they created this. If it sounds similar to you, good on ya. Maybe mention that in the forum for more, shall we say, consructive responses. GillanTheVillain 16:37, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mention the missing "critique" portion

I think a someone should add an explanation for the cartoon's end, where you see The Cheat's disappointment of not being commented on the video, maybe refer to Rap Song, Everybody to the Limit, etc

Good point. User:Chipwich

[edit] Reference?

Could the rap/metal mix be a reference to bands like the devil wears prada who cover songs like still fly? Though one's a cover and the other is a featuring it has a similar outcome. Wecannotbesaved 19:40, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't really know what devil wears prada is but this song is like a direct spoof of Bring the Noise by Anthrax/Puplic Eenemy - β@®אַ0ح 23:06, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Peacey P says in the song that it refers to the practice of mixing rap and metal during the early ninties. --DENNIS T/C 23:24, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Paws

I don't know about anyone else, but I really don't feel comfortable saying The Cheat has "paws". Lets just be safe and keep it as "hands". TheTeach!

I don't now what we usually would call them, but they're definitely not paws. So yeah, change it. -PeterImage:Petersig.png 2:05, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
They're actually a bit like flippers. For example in rough copy when he slaps them together.~Ozker

[edit] referencing real world videos

I'm pretty sure there was an official Tool music video that featured slabs of meat slithering across the floor, only to be pinned in place by nails. I've been searching youtube for it, but I can't find it. I can't remember which song it was but I'm fairly certain it was on the same album as "Sober". If anyone can find it, it should probably go in real - world references.

Wouldn't be the first time. See also: death metal#Real-World References. --DorianGray 06:45, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
It's more like referencing taranchula's video which in turn referenced Tools video - β@®אַ0ح 23:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Is it just me, or...

is The Cheat getting better with Flash animation? but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 23:13, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Although this is probably more of a forum question, I gotta' agree with you. The little "foot-tap" thing in Rap Song and the "headbanger" thing at the end of this one definitely shows some improvement. Although, it would probably be hard making really crappy animations after doing good animations for so long (that last sentence was about TBC's animation, not "TC's", alright? Now gimme' five...). DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 23:22, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
We've already noticed that the cheat's animation is higher quality in his music vids than in his plain ol' cartoons. — Defender1031*Talk 23:44, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't know that. U^_^ (the "U" is a sweatdrop) Oh, and DevonM, about the high five...okay! but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 23:13, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, they may be higher quality, but they're still pretty hard to take seriously. ~Ozker
Perhaps the newer Mac would allow for better graphics. If you'll recall, The Cheat had an older computer when he created some of the other animations. --DENNIS T/C 22:17, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ice Breath Fire Breath

Is this just to explain Turancula, While doing that bring peacy p, for the next episode Strongebadia The Free. This my gesses debate to see if it a fact or a super wild gessus I made dection from new players, strong mad with the cardbord cutout and Trudemank.

Umm...what? but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 23:14, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Prehaps! I'm've was to make Turancula often times. Peacy P? Know. Best cardboard cutout results twice again. OptimisticFool 00:28, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I think anonny was asking if this was related to Strong Mad's appearance with a Taranchula cardboard cutout in the preview for Strong Badia the Free. To which I answer: not without something better to tie the two together. --Jay (Talk) 00:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
So, what about ice breath fire breath? ~Ozker
That's what Strong Mad said in said preview while standing behind said cardboard cutout, of course. --Jay (Talk) 21:33, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... "Turancula", "while doing that bring peacy p", "Strongebadia The Free", "this is my gesses debate to see if it a fact or a super wild gessus", "I made dection from new players"... Looks like a winner to me! Dearest Anonny, I have some good news for you! I DO remember the talkpage comment I ZOMGWTPFLOLBBQed the hardest! And I'm still remembering it right now! And now if you'd please turn in your hymnals, and join me in singing number 119, a-ZOMGWTPFLOLBBQ.

ZOMGWTPFLOLBBQ!!1!

That is all. but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 01:32, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

The large letters aren't necessary to get your point across. --DENNIS T/C 22:20, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] mp3

Anyone have an mp3 or ogg of the song that they'd like to upload? That would be pretty cool.

Why not just download a swf to mp3 converter and do it yourself? It would be difficult to try to get someone else to do it for you. --DENNIS T/C 23:19, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
What converter would you recommend? I can't get YoutubeGet's convert tool to even open a browse dialog. And some other converters only convert HALF of the audio. When I open a flash file in Flash itself, there's no sound, just frames. ColdReactive
I can be of assistance... You want the mp3? Just ask, and I'll whip up one. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:28, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that would be nice. ColdReactive
All right! Mediafire, A new mp3 and ogg! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Here is the Mp3 and here is the Ogg! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 21:53, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks man. ColdReactive
No problem! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 22:04, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] How to record (forums are down by the way)

Since I don't really care to ask for someone else to do it again. I have Vista, and I want to know how to record my "Stereo Mix" device, which won't capture ANY sound with sound recorder.

Quoting myself: "I cannot record anything using it even though sound is playing on the computer. What am I doing wrong? Or can Realtek audio still not record itself even though this device is here?" ColdReactive

Well, I use a very simple way. But not a simple recorder. You see, I have long had a cord that has the plug (like the part or some headphones that go in the jack.)I just plug both ends into the "microphone" and "headphone" jack, and then I start up my sound editing program: Audacity:The Beta Version. I adjust the volume on my computer so it doesn't max out the decibels, and then I have to save it to Mp3 using a lame_enc.dll file that I downloaded. Just Google that. Maybe it's not so simple, but it gets the job done. But I enjoy making mp3s, just ask me and it's done, then and there. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 22:04, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Gah, I'm so stupid. My Stereo Mix volume (even at 100) is extremely low. ColdReactive

[edit] backwards sawblade.

You might as well mention how peoples' limbs don't move but actually warp through space to different positions along their path of motion. This is an animation; the saw blade could be spinning either direction, and could appear to be going either direction depending on its speed. So I'm going to just remove that remark. 216.9.11.201 00:25, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

The sawblade isn't going backwards in the first place. --DENNIS T/C 23:00, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lyrics in visuals don't match

Okay, so there's a problem.. the lyrics in the Trudgemank Visuals article are totally different from these. Take a look: "Getting paid to rhyme in Scandinavian" "Getting paid to rhyme with Scandinavians", "Clean the gravy out your ears cause your head is a biscuit." "Leakin' gravy out your ears cause your head is a biscuit" Also, WTC is a STU G.O.? some of my friends insist he's just saying "studio" weird. Bleu Ninja Image: STBsprite.PNG‎ 22:00, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

So fix the ones on the Visuals page. Also, STU G.O. may be just a weird way to say "studio", but I believe it's also written onscreen at the time. --DorianGray 22:04, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Done and done. Bleu Ninja Image: STBsprite.PNG‎ 22:58, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Word, y'all.

I know I sound really stupid by asking this but is "Trudgemank" a real word? If so, what does it mean? Is it just another made up word? Lastly, if it is a word should it go in the explainations? --Jellote 16:53, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

No. "Trudgemank" is not a real word. The Brothers Chaps made that word up.

[edit] Tarancchkula special

I hear "Taranchula", not "Taranckula", with my high-quality sound-canceling headphones, thanks for assuming I don't have them by the way. I hadn't even noticed it had been changed. But then lots of people disagree with my high-quality sound-canceling headphones, so let's discuss. --Jay (Talk) 03:27, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about the misunderstanding... It's just that, mostly everybody I know uses speakers... (Besides me). I hear Taranckula. At first it sounded like he said it correctly, but then I thought (and thought and thought). And I'm pretty sure he said Taranckula. (tar-ae-nk-uhla). I even sampled what he stated. Tenerence Love  04:14, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I hear "tuh-rank-uh-la" also. I think the joke is he's being asked to perform with some band he's never heard of because they're from a different genre ("Hello? What? Who? Taranckula?"), has no interest whatsoever ("Naww, fool."), and then agrees to do so when he hears how much he's being offered ("Wait, how much? Dang!"). Basically, until he realizes how much he's "Getting paid to rhyme with Scandinavians" he cares so little he doesn't even get their name right. — Defender1031*Talk 12:25, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
He doesn't pronounce it quite correctly regardless of which consonant he's using, but then this is Peacey P. He's never easy to undashtow. Truth is, I only barely hear the "CH" as it is, as he's kinda mumbling over a loud bass line. But then that's kinda the point: it's a wonder any of us can make out any consonants at all. It's probably safer to stick with the correct consonant just because it's so hard to hear. --Jay (Talk) 15:53, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I think it's Taranckula. I agree with whoever said "That's how he talks". It's an idiosynchrasy in line with his "urban slang". -128.103.10.11 17:01, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
The only person in this conversation that said "that's how he talks" is the one disagreeing with you... ._. And "Taranckula" is urban slang now? --Jay (Talk) 18:20, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Actually I said "that's just how he talks" in the edit summary. "undid revision 55555585 Nah, that's just how he talks. Tenerence Love  18:37, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
