[edit]  ??

didn't strong bad say meedly in another email or something? it just sounds.......familiar. Seriously 18:30, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Besides guitar? I think it's popped up in several places... --DorianGray
Isn't it listed as one of the Strong Bad quotes on the Downloads page? -Marth 99 18:33, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
yeah, but what? if it has, we should list it with guitar in the inside references. Seriously 18:34, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
The origin is "guitar". Even if it comes from somewhere else, it appeared in "guitar" first. --DorianGray

[edit] Guitar Hero

I used a boneheaded Edit Summary, let me say something here. If "Guitar Hero" is shown to include this song, then we can add the fact. But as 1) it's highly unlikely Trogdor would be included amidst other well-established rock songs and 2) I can't seem to find mention of this on the Internet aside from chat room wishes, I removed it. If you can cite a source, add it back. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I played Guitar Hero 2 at a friend's house last night, they had an advanced release version. It is included in a bonus track section. Trogdor (specifically the Limozeen version) is in Guitar Hero 2.
Here's proof of the song being in at least a prerelease copy of Guitar Hero 2, from a thread on the official GH2 forums: link to image
I'm afraid that your forum is not an official source. And there's no such thing as a "Limozeen version" of Trogdor. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 01:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Official source or not, it looks like Wikipedia is all for it; and you know how picky THEY are about verifiability... --Shadow Hog 02:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, sure. Wikipedia has never ever had any false information. But honestly, can't you guys wait for a few days until the game is actually released and we get official proof? Loafing 02:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
According to Wikipedia, "While the bonus tracks have not been revealed to date by Red Octane or Harmonix, the following list of bonus songs was revealed from a Guitar Hero forum post on October 24, 2006 based on screen shots from a game kiosk running the full version of Guitar Hero 2." It's not official information. Additionally, the Wikipedia page is headed with a "likely to contain information of a speculative nature" proviso. Thus, I don't believe it's prudent at this time to include this information as if it were fact when even Wikipedia does not claim it to be verified. Therefore, I am going to revert this information. If this eventually bears out to be true, these edits can easily be restored. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
If this is true, wouldn't it go under Game Sightings anyway? - link_icon.gifThe Joe(Talk) 23:31, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
If this turns out to be true, I would think this is more than just a Game Sighting, as clearly TBC would have licensed use of the song. I'd say it would belong there as well as here. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:34, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't think that the licensed use of the song would be a sighting. It should really only go on this article. This is kinda a new thing for TBC and the wiki, I think. Loafing 23:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I think, personally, if it is real we should wait until the game is OUT. Then we should just make a page of it's own "Trogdor in Guitar Hero II" or something with information about it and maybe a screen cap from the game or something and a link to the article on Wikipedia.--Image:Stinkwing.gif »Bleed0range« 23:55, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

I added it, because i think 4 reputable sources are quite enough. 24.164.134.249 14:09, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Of those four sources, 3 all cite that same forum post that above has been referred to as unofficial. The fourth doesn't cite any source at all, and is on a site where anyone can post anything... though they probably heard it (directly or indirectly) from that same forum post. I'm not saying that it's probably false, it's probably true that it's in there. I just agree with Qermaq that it'd be prudent to wait until the game is actually released and it can be independently confirmed before including the information here. All we have to base this on is a post on a forum on the Internet, and a flurry of websites quoting that post. If there was even a second primary source, someone else who's played this preview version and can confirm that Trogdor is there, I'd probably reconsider putting it on the page. --phlip TC 16:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Uh, I'm not a member, amd I don't know if this is like, against the rules, but here is a video of Trogdor being played (apparently, there's a patch out). Don't hurt me, please.Video of Trogdor
Don't be silly, how can we hurt you? Anyway, the clip makes me want to believe, but as he's selecting a tune called "Madhouse" I cannot, just yet. It is compelling evidence, yes, but not conclusive evidence. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 06:16, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I think it's probably true by now, with all the rumors floating around and the compelling evidence. It may be called Madhouse so (for those who don't know) they'll be surprised when they find out it's Trogdor. That or this was a really really well done fake.--Image:Stinkwing.gif »Bleed0range« 06:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
"Probably true by now" - as if a long enough wait will make something true?!? Ok: "May be" (speculation) or "This was a really really well done fake" (equally - I mean equally - unlikely possibility) - This means I am left to choose, and that means I must wait for more credible evidence. We are not a news service, we do not need a "scoop". Let's allow facts to play out. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 06:49, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Um, yes we are, and sure we do. — It's dot com 07:17, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh I agree with you. I was just stating that was pretty good evidence. Until I have the game in my hands (which I will), I wouldn't make the article based on hunches either.--Image:Stinkwing.gif »Bleed0range« 06:53, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Here's the reason why the title is displayed as "Madhouse". --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 23:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Venusy, could you explain it for people like me who have played Guitar Hero like once? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:04, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Here's the reason as I understand it: for whatever reason, the GH2 demo contains all (or most) of the bonus tracks in the final game. The bonus tracks are hidden on the menu, but they can be unlocked using a third-party modification. This mod makes the game think that it is loading one track (in this case "Madhouse") when it is actually loading the files for another (in this case Trogdor). The game loads the text strings and the venue data for Madhouse, but replaces the guitar data and sound file with Trogdor. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 00:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I linke how one of the posters on there credits the song to us. Not as in "I like it because it somehow satisfies me", but as in "it gave me a good chuckle". — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:57, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Wait, you mean that the Trogdor song wasn't created by the wiki? I'm so disillusioned... --phlip TC 10:57, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
What poster? Where? What? When? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 14:49, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Click Venusy's link and search the page for the word "Wiki"... Trey56 16:40, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
heres another video.[1] honestly, you act like people are conspiring against you. like some guy in his basement would make fake videos to fool the hr wiki community.
I, for one, am not afraid of conspiracy by others, my friend. I'm merely afraid of an error by ourselves. When this was first reported, it was rumor. Then it was pretty convincing. Now it's as indisputable as possible. The first cannot be noted; the second can be with a bit of hedging; the third should be. It's important to know "how true" a fact is before you add it! Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 09:57, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
If you search "trogdor guitar hero" on YouTube, you get 48 results. It's beyond ignorable. It's fact now. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 04:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, we've pretty much confirmed that this is legit now. --DorianGray

[edit] Guitar/Bass Tabs?

This Might Be A Wiki has guitar/bass tabs for some of the songs. Could we do the same thing maybe here?

Just sayin' as a bass player with very little skill. --62.254.32.18 18:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC) (A.K.A. Dinoshaur)

All i know is the following for guitar:
Drop big E to D:
A|-00008--00005--0000805035
D|-00008--00005--0000805035
that's the chorus. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 03:58, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Thatsounds resonable. When I have some free time I might use it to work out this one and put it up. It is a classic. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:05, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
I could put a tab on the article if it's ok. - Barton 18:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Well i'm gonna put it up now. - Barton 18:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Now all we need is the Solo - Barton 00:50, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
The tab that is up is for Drop D tuning, but it it was put up as standard tuning. I think this need to be fixed. rootbeersoup 19:32, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Wait, if by tabbing Trogdor, are we declaring a guitar tab project on Strong Bad Sings songs? [sic] --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 20:45, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who wrote the song?

This song was not originally written by Strong Bad, although much of the credit for the song has been given to them

Who wrote the song? I think I remember reading something somewhere about it being a last minute off-the-cuff idea when they put together dragon, but did TBC not actually write it? If not, maybe more information could be included here about who did write it. Also, this statement is worded a little weird, in that it says "Strong Bad", and then goes on to say "them". Is it just saying that Strong Bad didn't write it because Strong Bad isn't a real person, and the official writers are The Brothers Chapp? I'm confused.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 18:43, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

It was added by an anonny recently and doesn't make much sense. I'm gonna go remove it. — Defender1031*Talk 18:49, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Similar riff

I remember reading somewhere that the song has a very similar riff to some other song from the 70s. I can't remember where I found this information, though. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? --Yossarian 11:04, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] You could probably ditch that (song) thing

The title being all in caps already differences it from the character Trogdor. Why dp we still need the (song) after the caps lock title (TROGDOR). Unless it is to difference it from the game, TROGDOR!!, that is already different by itself due to the punctuation. --h o mj esa na rtalk contr. 19:17, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Limozeen's Version

An anon recently added the Youtube version's lyrics, sung by Limozeen, to the page. I'm not entirely sure it belongs here. Should we keep it, give it its own page, or just remove it altogether? --DENNIS 02:04, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Piano version I made

This isn't too relevant to the article, but I made a piano arrangement of this song if anyone wants it. Click here. Minecraft lover147 23:34, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
