Trogdor!!

This Kickstarter Blog page refers to the game as "Trogdor!!", the same thing that was written in this picture. Now that the title is somewhat confirmed, should it be moved? Or should we wait for a more official announcement? FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 05:17, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

I'm in favour of keeping it at "Trogdor Board Game" (or perhaps: "Trogdor!! (board game)"), if only because between character, song, and arcade game, it's starting to get a little confusing between all the things named "Trogdor". Like, I know we have a disambig page for such things, but still~ --DorianGray
That was my reasoning when I named the Guitar page "Guitar (Skills of an Artist)"— I thought it was too similar to guitar. But it was renamed "Guitar", so I guess similar-sounding page titles aren't much of a problem on this wiki. See also pom pom and Pom Pom, or marzipan and Marzipan. Plus, even if the reader gets confused, the first link on the page is a disambiguation. So "Trogdor!!" would probably be fine.
"Trogdor!! (board game)" would be perfectly fine as well. If we put parentheses at the end, we should probably add them to the rest of the pages too (like "TROGDOR! (game)") for consistency.
Anyway, we shouldn't rename this page right away. I would wait until the game is put on Kickstarter, just in case Trogdor!! isn't the official title. It could still potentially be changed at any point. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 05:06, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
It seems the title is actually "Trogdor!! The Board Game", so that will avoid any confusion. Should we rename the page now? FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 01:26, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Giving the Kickstarter page its own article?

The Kickstarter page has a lot of jokes and references so I'm wondering if it's worth documenting here. We may have to use the wayback machine if we do though as they've altered the main page with new stretchgoals. Guybrush20X6 00:50, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

I think so. And while we're at it, we should probably make pages for the website and social media accounts. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 01:26, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Support giving the Kickstarter page its own article; oppose Gfd's suggestion. And I thought StrongBadActual was covered excessively. RickTommy (edits) 08:39, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Maybe the social media doesn't necessarily need its own page, but the website should, at least. It has its own references and Easter eggs. Also, that section takes up a lot of space on this page, and doesn't quite fit in with everything else. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 17:54, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Or maybe we could compromise, and make a page called Trogdor!! The Board Game Web Content, covering the Kickstarter campaign, website, and social media. But if not, then I support at least giving the Kickstarter campaign and website their own pages. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 07:39, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
Now that there's a print-and-play webpage, the Web Content page might be the best idea. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 05:37, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

I've been thinking about this for a while, and here's my opinion. So far, there are four pieces of web content: the Kickstarter campaign, the webpage, the social media, and the print-and-play page. I believe the Kickstarter and webpage are most important, and should get their own pages. That would leave the Web Content page with only two things, so it's not really worth creating. The social media and print-and-play don't necessarily need to be documented, since they're so minor. That leaves two pages: Trogdor!! The Board Game Kickstarter and Trogdor!! The Board Game Website.
However, if it is decided that the website should not get its own page, it will be replaced with Trogdor!! The Board Game Web Content, which will document the website, social media, and print-and-play page. If it is decided that the social media should get its own page, a Trogdor!! The Board Game Social Media page will be added. If it is decided that the social media and print-and-play page should not get their own page, but should still be documented, they will be covered on this page. After everything is decided and the pages are created, we can make a navigation template, and possibly even merge it with KickstarterVideos.
If that's too long to read, here's the short version. The page options are:

 • Kickstarter, website
 • Kickstarter, web content
 • Kickstarter, website, social media

What do you guys think? What should get its own page, and what shouldn't? FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 23:05, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Funny, I started writing a post on this subject some time ago but never got around to posting it. I guess I'm leaning ever-so-slightly toward option two. The social media certainly should be documented (if not nearly as extensively as @StrongBadActual is), and I might support giving them their own article—but on the other hand, I don't know that there's all that much to tell about the webpage, so we could probably fit the two subjects into one article. I don't think the social media or the print-and-play should be covered in this article; this one should just be about the game itself. Lira (talk) 02:43, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
All right, that sounds good. My original plan was for the webpage to have a separate page because it has its own Easter eggs and fun facts and whatnot. I made a draft here, and it seemed pretty complete. But if it was merged with Web Content, that would work too. FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 19:20, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
Just to say, I got most of the text of the page in this temp page if that's any help for making a start. Guybrush20X6 20:57, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Revised instructions

I wrote a draft of a revised instructions section here in the sandbox (almost entirely without referring to the rulebook). It's more fleshed out and organized with subsections and bullets in a way that might facilitate a guided playthrough, and also includes some important rule clarifications that Strong Bad has made on Twitter. I thought it would be best to bring the draft here because I didn't want to just write over Gfd's hard work, and there might be further improvements and clarifications to be made before it's final. Give it a read and feel free to edit if I left anything important out or if anything seems unclear. If there's a way to remove all the "you" wording that sounds natural, go for it. Lira (talk) 22:32, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

It was far from hard work. I pretty much just copied the rulebook from the print-and-play. Yours is far superior. Go for it! FLCTNUy.png g1f4dgysegaxrgszgodfrc 23:56, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
There's just one question I have, and that's whether we should use the rulebook's capitalization. The rulebook capitalizes all game elements (use Action points to burninate Peasants and Cottages), whereas your instructions capitalize everything as they would normally be capitalized. I think the rulebook's capitalization helps with readability, but yours feels more casual and informative almost. Was the lack of capitalization intentional? If not, what is your opinion on this?
