"Almost certain"? I'm absoultely positive Strong Bad says "I'm the winner, Homestar!"--The one who changed it back

Why would it be "I'm the winner"? In context, "Out of the way" sounds much more likely. And you can clearly here the "ay" sound in the lastest word. --Upsilon

Strong Bad's line as he and the others leave with the radish is almost certainly "Now let's cheezit.", a reference to the old-timey phrase "Cheezit! The Cops!" uttered by gangsters and such in the 20's and 30's. "Now let's cheat it." is barely grammatical.

It's "cheat it." Grab an mp3, or take a close listen with a pair of headphones in a quiet room. Ignore the "boooo"s. Let me explain why "cheat it" makes sense. In the bad old days of H*R, Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat were the bad guys. The cheaters. The ones who cheat. I still think it's "cheezit" or "cheese it." "Cheese it" means to "look out" or "get away fast." (trogga)

• "Cheat it" is barely grammatical? It's perfectly grammatical. E.g. "to cheat death"; "You cheated what?"; "Death"; "You cheated death?"; "Yes, I cheat it every now and then."
• I will relent that "cheese it" is a phrase in the M-W dictionary. However, "to cheese" means "to put an end to something; to stop", and "cheese it" is "used in the imperative as a warning of danger." From the context, is Strong Bad more likely to be saying "Now let's put an end to it", "Now let's hurry up and go, the cops are coming", or "Now let's rip it off"? If you haven't caught my stance yet, I think Strong Bad is saying that they are ripping [the contest, the radish] off.
• Upon further consideration, this has the same problem as "I hate your shoes"/"I think you're cute" (disconnected). Think-cute and cheat-it have hard sounds; Hate-shoes and cheese-it have soft sounds. I can right away hear the hard sounds in both, but I can hear and understand perfectly why people are interpreting soft sounds. In my opinion, hard sounds rule. Flash just distorts them.

I would like to reopen this discussion. I came across this use of the phrase "cheese it", and that prompted me to look it up in the Urban Dictionary. The first definition there is exactly what Strong Bad and gang are doing. Furthermore, when I subject the audio sample to scrutiny (isolating the clip, amplifying it, speeding it up, slowing it down, listening to it over and over), I think there is a /z/ sound there, not a /t/. Finally, BazookaJoe's assertion that "cheat it" is grammatical is shaky at best: If we assume it's "cheat it", then the only possible antecedant to "it" is "vegetable", which makes no sense. To make it make sense, we're forced to conclude he's actually talking about the contest. That seems like an unnecessary stretch to me given that "cheese it" is an actual slang phrase that fits the context 100%. — It's dot com 19:34, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

If Strong Bad said cheat it, that wouldn't make any sense. If you say that you are going to cheat something it means you will try to cheat, but it's not grammatically correct. If he said cheezit, that would make sense because he's running away. maybe he said cheat it or cheezit. I'll email the Brothers Chaps and see (wasd98)

So, this has been around in its current state for a long time, but I don't really think there should be so much dispute. I hear "cheese it" pretty clearly, and the context, "Now let's run away" makes the meaning pretty unambiguous. Can I remove the footnote? Are there still those who think it's "cheat it"? I heat the T quite audibly and absolutely no Z sound. I can only conclude that "cheat it" is a play on "cheese it" and "the cheat". — Defender1031*Talk 00:34, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

I wanna reopen this dispute. After playing around for the longest time with the Audio of the toon (singling out some things), I can undeniably conclude that the line is "Cheese it". Unless the "boos" and the bird are stored completely separately from the dialogue, I doubt that that is even possible. I think it's "cheat it", but I don't know for certain either way. --Jay (Talk) 03:39, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Another observation in favor of "cheese it!" — I was watching the back half to the oft-referenced Batman episode "The Joker Goes to School" and took note of a line where the Joker and his goons flee the scene of a crime: "Let us away – cheese it, everyone!" -- Bleu Ninja 05:20, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

The reason that this toon does not have a "Back" button is most likely because this cartoon appeared on the Telebision Toons Menu, which integrated the cartoons into the menu itself.

• Decline ...unless you can find that this is the ONLY toon that does not have a "Back" button, or that this is the ONLY toon that doesn't have the "Back" button for this specific reason. This is the only cartoon in which TBC use the "paper doll cut-out" visual style. Another older toon to have a unique visual style is In Search Of The Yello Dello.

Within the Fun Facts sections, it says that this is the first time Strong Bad says "Holy Crap", as it predates "A Jumping Jack Contest"...on the AJJC page, it says that was a 1999 cartoon, while this one (according to the wiki) was made in 2000.
