What birds?

I don't think the vultures count as The Birds, and I didn't notice any other birds in this 'toon. Did I miss something? --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 06:32, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There's one in the background of Mr. Pitter's title card, just before the vultures land. --phlip TC 07:16, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I saw that the last time through - but aren't those just the vultures from a distance? Oh, well, call them "The Birds" if you want. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 07:17, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree; they are the vultures from a distance, and they don't count as The Birds.--Nucleartonga 12:25, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I just discovered, the "fact" that this is the first time they don't die is false anyway. They survived at the end of TGS2 --phlip TC 14:46, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Ummm...

Why were no back and again buttons?

Well, TBC either forgot, or.... Forgot.--DumDe

They might go back and add some. --StarWarsMonkey :-)

HAY!

why did ja deleate da fun fact of mine? --djm1791 13:45, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

hello Mr. 209.104.139.221 i asked u a question! --djm1791 13:48, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

(1) Being rude and angry isn't going to help you. (2) 3 minutes is hardly long enough to wait before demanding a response. Think more along the line of days, possibly longer since it is an anonymous user and thus less likely to return often. (3) If by "da fun fact of mine" you mean "This is the first time we see Tompkins as a teenager.", I'm guessing it was because it is not particularly interesting. I know I'd vote against it if it went to STUFF. Also not necessarily true, depending on his age in TGS8 (which isn't obvious). --phlip TC 14:26, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Your, fact was deleted because this isn't the first time we see tompkins as a teenager, the first time was in Tgs 8.

Byrds reference

I'm not even going to try and STUFF this, because it's complete speculation and could easily be a coincidence, but I still think it's cool: On the Best Friends Squad intro, it looks like Cheerleader has been replaced by a unicorn, much like the group The Byrds were rumored to have intentionally replaced the recently-fired David Crosby with a horse on the cover of their 1968 album The Notorious Byrd Brothers. Just throwin' that out there. — It's dot com 18:08, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Interesting theory! However, I think the unicorn, rainbow and flowers are just generic frilly, girly things. -- tomstiff 20:45, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

What's Her Face

The girls of Teen Girl Squad have been presented as 8th graders almost since the outset. To discover that What's Her Face is possibly 3 or 4 or 5 years *older* than the others is interesting and notable. -- tomstiff 20:59, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

This is also noted in Talk: What's Her Face. -- Kiwi 20:35, 27 Jun 2005

Mr. Pitters

Why does he have his own article? He has only appeared in ONE issue of TGS, so if he has his own article, shouldn't the Port-A-John, the vultures, and all the others have their own articles too? No. So shouldn't he be part of the minor TGS characters page? -- Marshmallow Roast 09:09, 21 Jun 2005

Well he doesn't only appere once or twise he's tru the hole comic, unlike the others --djm1791 02:34, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree, he is more of a guest star like Tomkins. -- The Real Zajac 20:13, 21 Jun 2005 (PDT)

Sci-fi Greg

I liked Sci-Fi Greg.He reminds me of my dad, who's addicted to Sci-fi and my dad's name is actually Greg.i just thought that was a really weird coincidence.Ookelaylay 20:14, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

+3 Sword?!

Well, I run a D&D game myself, and no player with a three-digit experience total (1st level) should have a +3 weapon! They're usually reserved for powerful players of level 7-8 minimum.

Well, for an example of how much research goes into these animations, listen to the indie record store bit at the end of comic.
Ummmm ... SFG is lying!

Gallery/Galleon fun fact

There's no reason to suppose that "my Spanish galleons" is a specific reference to a particular other time that Cheerleader addressed the other girls as some variation on "gals". It's not a reference: knowing that she said "my gallies" before doesn't make the joke any funnier or help you to understand what she means. If she had just said "my gallies" a second time, that wouldn't be a reference. It's like saying that Homestar calling The Cheat "yellow man" in one toon is a reference to the time he called him a "yellow dog" in an earlier toon. It's not a reference; it's just because The Cheat is yellow. Here it's not a reference; it's just because TGS are gals. 24.193.245.4 17:11, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Who had the worst death in this issue?

  • What's her face-choked on Staple Sauce
  • Cheerleader-got run over by a crazy girl
  • The Ugly One-crushed and burned by a flaming tree
  • So And So-arrowed with a port-o-john

-Kinsey

I'd say So and So was SPEAR'D, not ARROWED. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 04:58, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Cassie Rose

I'd say it was So and So because she was out with a Port-a-john

and she got spear'd or arrowed in front of tons of people

Babbage's

Sorry to break it to the folks who are arguing if Babbages is still a store or not... but my local mall still has a Babbages. There's a Gamestop arcoss the street. -TheGilmanator

I don't know where TheGilmanator lives, but I also found a Babbage's in the Lakeside Shopping Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a phone call placed to them this morning confirmed that they still operate under the name Babbage's. — It's dot com 15:30, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Horrible!

I personally think that this is probably the most violent TGS ever. Getting impaled, combusting, getting run over, eaten by pigeons, and die by eating staple sause! Strange for TGS. --Klaymation

So getting ARROWED, zapped by a robot's laser, getting run over (OMG! IT'S HAPPENED BEFORE!), getting mauled by possums, getting hit in a sailing mishap, all the various things that happened to Tompkins as a child, eaten by a lion or a shark, etc. are any better? And, BTW, Mr. Pitters was eaten by VULTURES. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 06:29, 2 Jul 2005 (UTC)
These cartoons are similar to when Chuck Jones wrote all sorts of horrible ends to Wile E. Coyote in the Road Runner cartooons. Allthough for those the comedy mostly stems from the build-up to a disaster while in Teen Girl Squad, the deaths come through a duex ex machina. --The Real Zajac 20:07, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I was surprised by being eaten by vultures, but nothing else. Oh, yeah, I LIKE THE ROAD RUNNER CARTOONS!!! User:Rogue Leader.sig

Learner's permit?

What state gives learner's permits to 14-year-olds? And lets them drive without supervision? I'm thinking, here in Ohio, you can get a learer's permit at age 15 and 6 months, and you have to be acompanied in the passenger seat by a parent or guardian, or, if you're 16 or over, a licensed driver age 21 or older. That always seemed reasonable to me - but on second thought, some states have dumb vehicle laws, like how in Texas it's legal to drive with an open container... Gus 22:08, 2 Jul 2005 (UTC) In Indiana its the same, i agree ....Cassie Rose

Final Fantasy 7 Reference?

Did anyone else think that the theatrical play put on by one of the girls and the Port-o-Pottie looked eerily similar to the play that Cloud and Aeris participate in during their date scene in the Golden Saucer? I couldn't find a picture of the FF7 scene to confirm this, but the backgrounds and costumes look very familiar... Anyone???

1. Any of the playable females could be in that play, not just Aeris. 2. Cloud and A/T/Y didn't wear hats of any sort in that play, and Cloud wasn't the king. 3. No. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 03:02, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Luigi's Referance?

Do any of you guys think Cheerleader calling the girls, when they're ghosts, art galleries is a referance to Luigi's Mansion? --Technochocolate 14:47, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Umm... no.

That would be the BIGGEST coincidence if it wasn't, so it probably is. Makes sense to me. --ColorPrinter 16:25, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
