Lakers?

A fact was just added that Kneepads are probably a reference to the Los Angeles Lakers because their uniform are similar. Well... They are not that similar to me. The colors are different and the logo is not even close. Also cited is a 0.4 second shot from 2004. This seems like a real stretch to me. But I'm not American and I'm not really into sports. I know that with all the teams today, there's probably at least one that have a blue uniform with a logo more similar to the Kneepads. Any opinions? As a diehard Laker fan, I'm afraid I'm pretty skeptical, too. Purple and gold can mean lots of things (anyone here remember a song with the words "purple and yellow, he's one super fellow"?), and the uniforms here have nothing else in common with Laker uniforms. As for the 0.4-second shot: that was one of the greatest moments in basketball history, but there's nothing to connect it to the events in the paper]. There are some genuine Laker references in the H*R universe, but this is not one. Heimstern Läufer 08:59, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Merge?

I personally think this page should be merged with Minor Sports Teams. Other than the fact that it appeared twice, it's not exactly very notable. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 02:02, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

It was mentioned a third time now, in dictionary. Isn't there a rule about... Oh wait, that's jsut for running gags... Well, this sort of counts, doesn't it? - SnakeBoxer202 04:43, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Since it's mentioned three times, and since every other team on that page only once (Except for the Fighting Growlbacks which are linked to), this page should stay, and linked to from the Minor Sports Teams page. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 20:18, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
I want it to stay too, but because IT ACTULY HAS TEAM PLAYERS!...and they're well known. ~Nihaho13
I object to the so-called dictionary "reference". During the email, a display is seen with the word "Kneepads" on it. It does NOT read "Team Kneepads". It's very likely that they could have been referring to actual kneepads. So that's only two clear references. and I'm not convinced that's enough for its own article, especially after all that stuff about the Los Angeles Lakers was removed, which is actually quite plausible. – The Chort 19:01, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Homestar's Knees Tech

Remember in mascot, when The Cheat was part of the CGNU Dumples facing off against Pile of Electronics State? Strong Bad mentioned next time they'll be going up against "Homestar's Knees Tech", which was probably just a joke referring to how The Cheat simply hits stuff with a golf club. But still, this time is about kneepads, and Homestar is promptly featured in it... wearing kneepads. Coincidence? ...Yeah, probably, but is it worth mentioning? - SnakeBoxer202 04:42, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

No. Grasping at several different straws from many different locations doesn't give you a reference, it just gives you a pile of mismatched straws. — Defender1031*Talk 04:53, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
...Huh? Well, whatever. I thought the idea was too vague to get a mention, but I felt it was worth a shot. - SnakeBoxer202 05:03, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
I said you were grasping at straws. — Defender1031*Talk 05:10, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
