Youtube?

On a site that HUGE, who found this? And how? Einstein runner (Talk | contribs) 05:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC) (left unsigned)

The YouTube code is in an Easter egg in shapeshifter. This user found the egg, and this user figured out that it was a YouTube code. Trey56 05:34, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Has vanished

The Youtube video is gone. Anyone download it and save it?— Bassbone (TALK Strong Mad Has a Posse CONT) 06:45, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

The comments were glitchy. I hopethink that's why it was taken down, and that it's temporary. Shwoo 06:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
The link works again, but in case it goes down again, here's the mirror that greg2point0 from the forums uploaded. Trey56 08:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
It's back up again, but I think I'll leave off editing the page to say so until it stays up for a long time. If I'm right and the problem was the glitchy comments, it should stay up now. Shwoo 10:30, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Even so, I took the liberty of embedding it or whatever onto my Uncyclopedia account page. Click on this and all your troubles will be washed away... but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 01:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Wii Remote Jackets

Should I add a note about the reference to those accessories since they came so many months after the Wii's launch? Bad Bad Guy 21:27, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

When I bought my Wii system, it came with a remote jacket. TheCoolBot 23:04, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
That's because they released them for free to existing Wii owners, and included them with currently sold systems. —Einstein runner (thorax.pngfile_icon.gifmail_icon.gif) 04:31, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Inside references

Okay, two parts of this video remind me of toons on the site: 1.The movments of Strongbad in the videogame closely resemble/are identical to the movements he made in Cartoon. 2.The "Actual Gameplay Footage" flashing is a little similar to "Trial Version" in Pay Plus. Anyone else agree with me on either of these?-- DongleGoblin 22:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

More Real world refrences

Is it just me or does it look like the Baba Jaga is taking off out of the window in something Bowser-esque from Mario? Possibly a reference to Mario? It looks like his clown cup with a propellor on it that he uses in many of the games, Super Smash Bros Brawl, to name the latest.

I think that's supposed to be a mortar and pestle, which the Baba Jaga traditionally flies around in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga#Folklore

Youtube Notability...

Is it notable that this is the first official youtube video by TBC? ColdReactive

Umm... unless they make more, I'd say... not really. -- lelila (talk) 23:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Then we'll just have to wait and see. ColdReactive

G4

Is it worth noting that Attack of the Show already had a Wii safety video that made fun of airplane safety videos? Bad Bad Guy 22:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm... maybe you should add that to Real World References. TheThin 22:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

in real-world references

I don't think George Jetson counts as a real-world reference.

Then you don't watch old cartoons. --Color Printer 02:44, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
I think he was referring to the entirety of the world beyond The Fourth Wall. It's arguable that it isn't a real world reference, but I have to agree with Color Printer. ColdReactive 03:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, although it may be The Jetsons do not exist in the real world, the image and person is part of the collective American experience. And as to it's inclusion on the Wiki, just going to a Random Article, I came accross pop-up which has references to the equally Fake World Frito Bandito and Police Quest so yeah...there's a marked precedent. Flashfight(trying out the new signature, after a year of Hyperlinks)

Gameways -> Airways

As Strong Bad is wearing a flight attendant's uniform, shouldn't it be proper to mention that "Gameways" is a play on the word "Airways"? 24.165.150.118 16:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

That woul be explaining the joke... — Defender1031*Talk 16:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't this be a fun fact

Fun Facts are never supposed to explain the obvious jokes. Bad Bad Guy 02:53, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Powered by the Cheat?

It appears that large chunks of this short are animated in PBTC style: e.g. the open space and the Baba Jaga scenes. Should this be noted? It seems a little crude for TBC's normal animation. 23:05, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Naw, it's more of the crude type of animation used in safety vid diagrams. — Defender1031*Talk 22:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

ubiquitous

I wanted to know someone else's opinion on this. Maybe i was the only person who didn't know this word. HOwever, if i wasn't i was just wondering what the policy is (if there is one) on using words that maybe the common person might not know. My only point is that the Wiki is meant to be helpful, which it isnt if someone doesn't understand it. Sorry if I sound snobby or dumb or something... for some reason this just really stood out to me. If the is completely irrevelant, please disregard. =] --Acam30 23:01, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

You're not the only one. I don't know it either. --75.5.180.133 17:23, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Ubiquitous means all-over and encompassing. So ubiquitous safety warnings means that the safety warning are all over the place. That being said, I do agree that the word adds no content to the fact and removed it. Flashfight
I disagree. I think the word (or a synonym) is important in the sentence, since this video is a parody of the over-the-top prevalence of safety warnings throughout the Wii. For people who are unfamiliar with the Wii, it's helpful to note this.
As for the general population's familiarity with the word, I don't think it's particularly obscure. And if somebody has to look it up and learns a new word, that's a good thing (especially in the current text-messaging generation). That said, if somebody can think of a good synonym, I'd be fine with substituting it. Trey56 02:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Trey. Expanding your vocabulary is good for you, and dictionaries are your friends! :) -- lelila (talk) 04:52, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

YouTube Account Article?

Should we have a separate article for the TBC's YouTube account? So we can list the honors they got and when, list the views gotten for a video within a week, etc.? --75.5.180.133 17:17, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Done-ish Youtube Physicsguymonsterman 19:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Mike?

Could Mike Chapman be the one who made the video?Katonator 3000 02:35, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Matt probably helped. --DorianGray 02:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Mirror on Homestarruner.com

Hey is there some mirror of the toon on the website?

Controller Next to Window

Does it only reference Wii Sports, or has it appeared in other games as well? Bad Bad Guy 18:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

That's a great point. Now that you mention it, I've only seen it in Wii Sports. It doesn't even appear in Wii Play, which would be a likely place to see it if it were in other games... Trey56 18:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

It is in all release game eg. Marvel Ultimat Alliance Physicsguymonsterman 19:06, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I thought I saw it in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. -76.24.92.216

3D Strong Bad

There's no triva about this version of him. You don't suppose he was made with a certain program and placed in Flash, do you? Kinda different from the sbemail DVD introductions, too. --Charlie Jr. 15:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Multiple Characters

It may just be me but seeing Strong Bad giving advice on how to play Strong Bad's Gameways to Strong Bad (which Strong Bad procceded to take Strong Bad's advice), and Strong Bad desiring to play a game where you play as Strong Bad...

Doesn't this count as a "duplicate character" inside joke?--149.169.205.74 18:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

NO because 2 stro bros are ne'er seen at once Physicsguymonsterman 19:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Sonic the Hedgehog Real-Word Reference

Is Strong Bad walking off the screen because the player has done nothing for too long, resulting in a GAME OVER, a Sonic the Hedgehog reference. I'm pretty sure that in one of the games, if you did nothing for too long, Sonic would get bored and leave, resulting in a GAME OVER even if the player had extra lives. DrPepper42 23:39, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure that was in Sonic CD, where if you leave the game idle for about 3 minutes, Sonic gets bored, says "I'm outta here!", jumps offscreen, and the Game Over message plays. --68.101.75.225 01:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I recall that in some Barney video game you weren't allowed to hit pause, so if you decided to take a break the dino would just walk by himself to the end of the level. Does this make the reference close to TTATOT status? Bad Bad Guy 01:24, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Reply to BBG: It was in the original Sonic too. I checked. DrPepper42 13:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

"Flotsam and jetsam"

Strong bad actually says "Jetsons" not "jetsam" and one of the jetsons characaters appears in the top right corner as he says it. 74.69.245.119 21:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC) (Just realized it is correct on the transcript but not in the bottom setions of the page)

It's correct where it needs to be, and all references are explained. "Flotsam and jetsam" for the Explanation of the original phrase, and "Jetsons" for the reference to George Jetson in the Real-World References. And as spoken in the transcript, of course. --DorianGray 21:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I think my contents may have shifted?

Huh? StarFox 05:34, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

It's a takeoff of airplane safety videos. They always end with "please be careful when opening the overhead compartments, as their contents may have shifted during the flight." — Defender1031*Talk 05:37, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Actual Gameplay Footage!

Okay, I know that there are still four episodes that aren't out yet, but in Homestar Ruiner and what I've seen of Strong Badia the Free (which included PAX, BTW), there isn't any "Score" meter and staying still too long doesn't cause a game over. Thus, it's not actual actual gameplay footage. Notable? --Jaybor Day (Talk) 03:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
