Fanstuff Discussion

I was the one who originally said this was better left for being on the fanstuff wiki (I put the deleted thing on, but Tabacco removed it I guess). Anyone else thinks this should be put as fanstuff? Because it's not a part of the official homestarrunner.com site. ColdReactive

This differs from fanstuff, as this is an official licensed Homestar Runner game (like the long-delayed Homestar Runner RPG or the appearance of "Trogdor" in Guitar Hero). Since it is official licensed (and even being "developed" by Videletrix), then this will be documented by the regular Wiki. The same thing would count towards things like Strong Bad Gameways or any of the live appearances. wbwolf (t | ed) 17:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Yup, exactly right. Trey56 17:43, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Besides, it's mentioned on the official Homestar Runner site! --Jay (Talk) 17:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Game News Soon doesn't direct to anything, so it may not be possible this is the same thing. But whatever. Close this mess. ColdReactive
The news isn't supposed to be revealed in full for another hour and forty-five minutes. Keep your pants on, for real. Anyway, it's fairly obvious that this game and the notice on the site are related. --Jay (Talk) 18:16, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Info For you!

Intrepid editors may find this page helpful. It's not 100% done yet but since we're running late we wanted to get something up with more info. --Tabacco 22:22, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Heyyyyy, the whole site is up now! --Tabacco 22:52, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

And you can play too!

Too bad this game can't be played by me. Not everyone's good enough to get a Wii. Although the article says it's also for the PC, I highly doubt that will be a reality. It makes me so frustrated when new consoles come out. Especially onces that cost over 200 USD, when I could get something productive (Like Photoshop CS3 Extended) for 320 USD. Which I will get 'cause I have no Wii. Why not get the wii, you ask? Because I want my damnz photoshop! Been entirely too long since I last had it. ColdReactive

It will be out for the PC. Guaranteed. --Tabacco 23:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
What retailers will you be distributing to? Target? Wal-Mart? If it's K-Mart, I advise against it. Madison, WI has no K-Marts whatsoever. Also, will it be good for only Vista? Because I can't switch to Vista, my computer won't allow me to upgrade my BIOS to do so. Besides, dozens upon dozens of users say Vista is crap for Gaming. ColdReactive
Our first run distribution is almost always through our website as downloads. With Sam & Max, we released the games as downloads and then once the whole season was over we assembled a disc and offered it up free to season subscribers. Not sure if that's what we're doing for Strong Bad (nobody tells me anything fun), but they will be available to download from our site. And no, they won't be Vista only. Our system spec is pretty generous in fact, so it shouldn't require too new and crazy a computer. --Tabacco 23:18, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Do you expect people to buy over the Internet only? Or are the downloads free? Because I somewhat despise Internet purchasing. Of course, I do have a Debit Card (Sorry, will never, ever use a Credit Card) if I so need to do an online transaction. But I haven't used the card in over 4 months. ColdReactive
It sounds like Tabacco answered this in his last post: they'll certainly be available for download, but if that's not an option for you, it's possible that they will be eventually released on disc format. Trey56 23:24, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Some sites require you to pay for certain downloads though. Like "Adobe Extend." ColdReactive
Yep, this game will cost money, just as the exclusive DVD content does through the Homestar Runner store. It's good too; I've often wondered if there was a way for TBC to make some money off of their games! Fans have been able to support them by buying DVDs for a while, so I think this is great. Trey56 23:30, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Still awaiting answer for if we have to buy over the Internet, or if we can send in check/money orders. ColdReactive
We also accept Paypal and Wire Transfer. You can use the latter if you like. --Tabacco 23:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
You stil didn't say if I can use check or money order though; I will only use them. If you can't do money order / etc. it's better off not to purchase. Not everyone likes the Internet... I'm sure not liking it anymore... I've been distancing myself from it more and more. ColdReactive
No, we don't take checks or money order. You sound pretty determined not to purchase, so I'm not sure why you're so insistent on pushing the issue, honestly. I think we can call this closed. --Tabacco 00:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
