All instances of "I've got no money writing on this one!" should be "I've got no money riding on this one!"

You're right. Give Homestar-winner a little time to be done with the transcript, and then if he hasn't fixed it, you can (remember, anyone can edit the wiki). Heimstern Läufer 18:47, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I've gotta work on my *groan* science fair project now. Can someone else improve this? Homestar-Winner (talk) 19:04, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

The faint?

the uh uh uh's at the beginning sound like the posed to death remix by the faint. Listen to it on their purevolume - Wecannotbesaved

Not sure if this is worthy of inclusion on the wiki but the end of the song is heavily influenced by "in The Mouth A Desert" by Pavement. Also the vocals clearly ape Stephen Malkmus.

I have to aggree on both accounts.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 03:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Which one?

This one...
or this one?

I just uploaded a pic for the sloshybowl, but I was beaten by like 10 seconds. I was just wondering which picture you would prefer?

I believe the 2nd one sums up the toon better, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't hear the others' opinions first. Bad Bad Guy 19:50, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
The second one is almost part of the punchline. It's already a very short toon, so I'm for leaving up the intro TV screen. --JamesGecko 19:54, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Alternatively, we could use a picture of Strong Sad just sitting on the counch. With no finger. – The Chort 20:00, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
With a short toon with very little action, it's hard to sum up the toon without giving away too much. I chose the TV screen partially because it makes it unique to distinguish it from other toons. Strong Bad on the couch by himself is very similar to concert. wbwolf (t | ed) 20:05, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I think the TV shot is better. OptimisticFool 21:57, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
My vote is the second one. It pretty much sums up the spirit of the toon. The image we use for the article doesn't necessarily have to distinctively represent the specific toon it's from.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 00:58, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
I say go with the TV screen. It doesn't give everything away and is more specific to this toon. Boc120 03:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Familiar stylings?

All the lines where a robotic sounding voice says "He's got exactly zero dollars riding on this one", etc. sound kinda familiar. Maybe like the "Smart Drinks" song from night life? Or is there a style out there that uses those a lot?

It's sloshy's style. The other member repeats (or says) a sung line in a spoken voice. See "We don't really even care about you" and their cover of "Because It's Midnite" for further examples. --DorianGray 21:59, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

American football championship game

Yep, they've also had similar references/problems back in Superbowl Dealie. --DorianGray 05:23, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

SuperBowl details

I noticed the addition of information in the Trivia section has been reverted. I added the teams and final score of the game in line with past practice at Superbowl Dealie and island. WHat is the consensus of the wiki on this type of trivia item? Personally, I like it because it enables us years later to look at the article and associate the roman numeral with the actual game and year. 4 singas

I'm pretty sure I hear 4 vocal parts at the end of the song, when sloshy's only supposed to have 3 members. It's probably not noteworthy, because there's a handful of reasons there could be four vocals, but what does ya'll think?--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 03:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Additional backing singer. – The Chort 20:58, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Studio session singer. They added a member without telling us. Really, it could be anything. Which means, it is nothing. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:43, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry this is late, but...

Isn't sloshy playing during halftime referencing the Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers concert during halftime in Super Bowl XLII? - 68.101.75.225 20:41, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

More reference to some band playing at every Super Bowl halftime show, not specifically TP&TH. — Flashfight 01:08, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

American Football

  • The page title translates to "Football in Spanish!" though "Futbol" is missing the accent mark on the "u" and "Espanol" is missing the tilde over the "n".

No, the page title translates to "American football in Spanish". Yes, i understand that football in spanish means soccer, but still, this is what it means. If i just said "Football in Spanish" one might even think that i was talking about soccer. The word "American" needs to be there. — Defender1031*Talk 17:00, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but the context is given that we're talking about football football, not soccer football. What I learned in my class was that "Fútbol americano" was "Football" in Inglés. If we want to stick with its literal translation, that's fine. But really, informally[, and as it was probably intended by The Brothers Chaps, it means "Football in Spanish". --70.253.165.204 17:22, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
American Football is American Football. Depending on where you are "Football" can mean American Football, Soccer, Australian Rules Football, touch football, rugby, Gaelic Football, and any number of other things. It doesn't matter what your class told you, but Fútbol Americano mean American Football. I suggest you find a less American-centric English class if you really want to learn English. There's no need to be less than literal in this case. --Belthazar 22:08, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
