Why "Shaboigen"?

Why? I looked and I couldn't see anywhere where it was spelled as Shaboigen, and not the actual spelling of Cheboygan or Sheboygan, depending on which one you're talking about (most likely Cheboygan, because they're in the 20s and referring to bootlegging). --Tony from Cheboygan, MI

"And the rest!"

I'm not going to add it to the page, but did anyone else think about The Robot, Mr. Bland, and Señor at "The Rest"? It's probably a reach, but the one in the middle IS robotic-looking. --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 09:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

No i think you are right that was the first thing i thought when i saw the toon. The-homsarrunner 13:52 2008 Feb 11

The robot, I can see. The other two, not so much. One's an alien (Old Timey Nebulon?!), and the other looks like a peanut with a black eye or something. I don't see the connection. But that's just me. --Bobsmith84 14:05, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

The one on the right reminded me of Emmitt Nervend from Freakazoid. --DavidCatmull

Same thing here. DEFINATLY saw Emmitt Nervend. D: -Aranai 16:28, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

I kinda do think they're supposed to be Old Timey Robot, Bland, and Señor. That was my first thought when I saw them, and them not being in the actual toon fits in context the way Mr. Bland and Señor are often mentioned in passing as if they're main characters but they're really not. On the other hand, however, you have different fingers. And since we can't be sure, and since they weren't in the toon and are not likely to ever be in an Old Timey toon, I don't think it needs to be mentioned anywhere but on a talk page.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 00:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

"Dee = Ugly One?"

Is the cow that Sickly Sam ends up with the Old-Timey The Ugly One? I mean, she has quite similar specs and hair.--User:Kerny Mantis 09:45, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

yea and with the glasses maybe... but we should wait for another opinion because so far the only old timey characters have been the characters that live in Free Country USA so... it probaly isn't The Ugly One.
Check the names of the the sender's friends in the email comics to see.--ONESTOP 21:09, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
None of them are named Dee. The Ugly One is not from Free Country USA, the glasses were just popular in that era, and SHE'S A COW! So, no. No Ugly One.--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 00:01, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

The Birds?

The Sneak being attacked by the seagulls reminded me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. Does anyone else think this is a reference? --Bobsmith84 13:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Firehouse reference?

This is a bit obscure, but at the end of this cartoon, Sickly Sam says, "I've finally found the love of a lifetime." which could be in reference to a song of the same name from the hard rock band Firehouse (since the Brothers Chaps seem very knowledgable about hard rock bands from that era). Other similar references were "Kevin Dubrow" a Quiet Riot reference from The Bet email and "Here I go again on my own" a Whitesnake reference from the Mile email. Not to mention all the old guitarist pics they have up in their audio recording room (seen in Sample of Style).

Horse or Cow?

I'm pretty sure Dee is a horse, not a cow. For one thing, she has no utter. Plus, a horse would make more sense at a glue factory. Exhibit A (talk · edits) 20:09, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

You're right. Fixed. --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 20:27, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

It's definitely a cow, udders or no udders. It's got the spots, the cow-ish face and the cow-ish tail. Besides, cows are used at a glue factory as well, not just horses. ({User:Kerny Mantis)} 21.02 11 February 2008 (UTC)

I think the tail is one of the best bits of evidence for her being a horse. It's basically just a mass of hair, like a horse's tail. Heimstern Läufer 21:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Problems playing file?

Is it just me, or did they do something to break the file? There's no audio after the word "..program" in the intro?

Why no Places

In the "Places" section on the wiki, why aren't there any listed? Also I would wonder if I could make the page called the Saw Mill where The Homestar Runner and Old-Timey Marzipan were being sawed by Old-Timey Strong Bad after Sickly Sam burned the film.--ONESTOP 21:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

They're not listed because no one's bothered to list them yet. --DorianGray 21:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Is "Skid Row" the Old-Timey alley?--ONESTOP 22:01, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

It's possible! --DorianGray 22:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Super Modern Telegram

As The Homestar Runner gets the telegram it say SUPER MODERN TELEGRAM and as he reads it it says HONEST TELEGRAM.--ONESTOP 23:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to add that to the Remarks section. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:11, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Goofs? Really?

There are currently two goofs listed:
  • When Old Timey Strong Bad jumps in on the boardwalk, Sickly Sam's hat disappears.
  • The color of the end stripe on The Sneak's tail changes periodically throughout the toon.
Given the nature of this toon, I'm not sure we can count these as goofs. There are many purposefully introduced "goofs" in this toon. We should simply ignore it as we do with Powered by The Cheat "goofs". Loafing 23:32, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Are we sure that "Foiled again!" is from the Dudley Do-right segment? I mean, Dick Dastardly from the old CN cartoon Wacky Racers also uses that. And that's just one example...

Dressed to the 5 3/4s?

Is this a play on the phrase "Dressed to the nines?" implying that Sickly Sam will only be dressed moderately better? If so, does this warrant an explanation?
